Sending a signal over HDMI is closer to sending data over Ethernet than it is VGA cable I know but I didn't change any settings on my TV, only updated my NVIDIA drivers on my PC. Will I re-enable it at some point? Younus: It's not recommended to have both external audio device as well as onboard audio enabled at the same time. This can create issues due to driver conflicts. If you prefer to use TV sound, then you have to disable onboard audio completely in BIOS. Bill: But all of this worked fine a few hours ago before I updated my drivers. I only use sound from my TV when using the TV as a second monitor, which I only do occasionally, and when I do I switch my audio device from Speaker to TV. Younus: Sometimes it may work and sometimes it may not, but it's officially not a supported configuration. Only using your TV sound when you want isn't supported?
