How the hell does that have anything to do with what I said?

I'm not sure why you think they are attacking men. The only people they are demonizing is sexual predators. Unless you are one, there is really no reason for you to be offended by this.

That may be, but again, I don't feel demonized and your point about how they should just tell them to 'fuck off' is still incredibly assinine.

I don't mean to literally tell them to fuck off. I mean put an end to it as professionally as you can. That's pretty rarely going to be literally telling someone to fuck off

Alright, we're just talking in circles at this point

Fair enough, but it's still pointless victim blaming. The fact is that the studio system and many other industries are basically engineered to allow victimization. Even if you could expect a fourteen year old girl to professionally tell her boss "no", you still have a system that laughs off the abuse and a boss who can literally destroy that child's future career on his own personal whim.

You're not going to hear any arguments from me that Hollywood is a fucked up industry. I would never encourage my kids to pursue a career in film

But your point was still that women should just stand up for themselves, which completely ignores the social pressure for them to conform and the mechanisms that are set in place to prevent them from actually succeeding to complain and continue to work.

But we're hearing arguments for why we shouldn't change that fucked up industry.

I think that's what people are taking issue with.

Hollywood is not a good representation of the american workplace man. And this has bleed out of just being a critique of the entertainment industry.

But it's not even close to the only industry that functions that way.

You don't seem to get why women don't speak up when incidents like this happen.
Usually it done by a man in power. They are afraid doing so could ruin their career, or that people will side with the man in power since he does have power. Also they are afraid that people in general just won't believe them, which if you look at comments on the internet is basically exactly what happens.

people don't believe them because it's allegations coming out x amount of years after the fact, sometimes with there being multiple assaults.

and i'm sorry, but if you have a 10+ year career filled with multiple "sexual assaults" that you never spoke about, then you're not getting sexually assaulted, you're trading your body for a higher position in the status quo

"Why don't women come forward?"

Two, I'm mad at you ladies. I'm sorry but we live in a world where men and women have to work together, it's time to man the fuck up.

I'm surprised this topic is still around with this line in there. I've seen people get hit for far less blatant victim blaming
