I forget where I read it, but I read that money does equate to happiness up to a certain level. It of course varies by where you are, but I believe for the US it's about $75k (aside from places known to be expensive - NYC, LA, SF, Honolulu, etc., where that's higher). If you make that, you're not that much happier with additional money and I believe it plateaus somewhere.

That's not to say that you can't be happy with earning less money. I don't make $75k, but definitely don't earn minimum wage either (I earn over twice the minimum wage). Yet, I wouldn't call myself happier than my friends that make or make close to minimum wage. In fact, those friends are usually happier than I am. I'm jealous of that, to be perfectly honest, because I am the type of person that has suffered serious depression over money or the type of jobs I'd be able to work. Work and money have controlled me for over a decade now and this board has even told me that I let those things impact my happiness too much.

So what am I trying to say? It depends on the person and how much they value financial security, but for most people, money does buy happiness up to the point where it doesn't.

I won't lie, I was really hoping for Animal Crossing, even though the tone of the announcement of the announcement wouldn't make sense for that. They wouldn't say Animal Crossing is for kids, that's just as bad as saying so for Pokemon with how it could damage sales.

Animal Crossing is most likely going to be announced at E3.

I have to admit, if I were 8 y/o I'd love this. I liked building things with cardboard as a kid.

As a 28 y/o, I don't care for it. I won't buy it, it doesn't appeal to me. But it's meant to appeal to kids and it's not targeted to me, someone in my late 20s without kids. So I don't get why some people my age are complaining.

I'm also pretty sure that Nintendo has said they're more of a toy company than a technology company anyway. Nothing wrong with that.

You play as Baby Mario the whole game. Yoshi is his mount. This would be like saying that you "play as Epona" when you are riding around Hyrule Field.

Sure, that's why the story begins with Baby Mario falling onto Yoshi Island and the Yoshis decide to help him. Of course, Baby Mario is helpless the entire game, being a baby and all. How could a baby command the Yoshis to do anything?

Basically, there's nothing to indicate that you're playing Baby Mario at all, just a bunch of Yoshis.

They're a spin-off, but also a prequel to Mario games when they have Baby Mario.

Yoshi's Island is a prequel
Yoshi's Story has no Baby Mario and is therefore not a prequel or sequel to any Mario game
I haven't really played other Yoshi games, though since I like Yoshi, I really should.

They're all ultimately Yoshi games, but some of them are also prequels to Mario games.

Depends on how many y/o they are.

I'm serious too. If they're too young, they won't handle church well. Kids get bored and church isn't easy for them. Once they're mature enough to handle it, sure. That said, I won't force them. Encourage yes, but if they don't want to go, there's no point to forcing them.

I tried going into project management before and it's such a hard thing to get into because project management jobs require experience you can't get because you're not hired due to lack of experience.

Considering AC: Pocket Camp, I think an Animal Crossing announcement is imminent this year if not this month.

I only say this because Pokemon Sun and Moon was released a few months after Pokemon Go, and Super Mario Odyssey was announced a few months after Super Mario Run came out. A Fire Emblem game on Switch/3DS came out 8 months after the Android/iOS game. I think it's clear that Nintendo is using mobile apps/games as a form of marketing/hype building more than as actual revenue generators. IIRC, Nintendo's been disappointed with the revenue from Super Mario Run and AC: Pocket Camp, and they didn't make Pokemon Go; they licensed that to Niantic.

I'm not even sure that the 3DS killed the Vita on its own. It was a big blow to it for sure, but I'd argue that a big part of its failure was due to phones and tablets. I hate to say it, but mobile gaming is bigger than handheld gaming such as on 3DS and Vita. Let's pretend it's 2012, when the Vita launched. Why spend $250 at launch for a Vita when an iPhone can also play games? It's easier for us gamers to justify that than the average Joe that feels he'll be just as happy playing Angry Birds for 99 cents as he would Uncharted for $40/$50 while he waits for a bus. If that person is a gamer, a 3DS had more support and a cheaper price. I'd say there was no room in the market for multiple handhelds because iPhone and Android were and still are competing against the handhelds we love so much.

Oh, and the memory cards? That's just an extra for why the Vita failed. Sony and others had been successful with proprietary accessories in the past, but people don't like it and by the time the Vita was released, SD and microSD were already considered standards. By 2012, we moved beyond having a ton of memory card formats. That said, ultimately, it's part of why people didn't like the Vita, but I don't think that's why it failed. It failed because casual gamers felt fine with their phones and tablets, and the market isn't big enough for two systems; at least, not if one is much more expensive than the other.

Breath of the Wild.

It's not a bad game to me, it's decent. But I'm not falling in love with it. Which is strange because I typically love Zelda games and open world games like Oblivion. But BotW just didn't click with me. It's a shame too because I actually bought the Season Pass and so aside from MMOs, I've never spent as much money on a single game as I have with BotW.

I tried and I couldn't get into gaming on my phone. After getting some games that cost a few bucks that wanted to push microtransactions on me, I just didn't want to deal with mobile gaming. To make matters worse, I have bad luck with phones and Android is known for being really bad with backing up and transferring app data to other phones. I want to get into mobile gaming but it's hard for me. That said, I actually played a lot of Pokemon Go and spent money on it.
