Lmao are you kidding me? Everyone was mega hyped for Sephiroth and of course he was wanted
Sephiroth is big enough in gaming that he fits in the roster ok and there were lots of people hyped for him, but it's just inherently more boring to expand on Final Fantasy when they could have instead spent those dev resources on adding an entirely new franchise. And there were lots of people who were underwhelmed by seeing another FF character especially one from the same FF game as Cloud. When there are so many titan game franchises that still have NO representation at all.

Same goes for Pyra and Mythra.

Why are they wasting time expanding franchises that already have representation in the game when they could be spending their resources adding entirely new franchises? The past 2 fighters have been way less interesting than it would have been to add 2 new franchises to the game instead.

If you aren't here in Texas experiencing it firsthand, just stop trying to give advice. Many of us in Austin are transplants and have dealt with heavy snow before in northern states. You don't know what you're talking about no matter how many snow storms in the north you've lived through, so your "advice" is worthless and patronizing. especially considering how derisively you mocked texans the past few days.

I don't know when I can return to normalcy but for now I"m living at my friend's apartment who is near a hospital and has power but not wifi or water. It just bugs me that some people acted so smug about texas "overreacting" and now you're trying to come off as if you're well-intentioned. If you acted smug and mocked us before, your "thoughts and prayers,......BUUUUUUUUUUT [blabla]" means nothing to us. Is this person really from the Northeast? Seriously, "don't have to worry about power outages"? Are they a loon? Literally last year a huge chunk of NJ was without power for a week due to a wind storm. During 90+ degree humid heat.

Most states get recommendations on how to avoid a natural disaster in the future and then the power companies and politicians just simply ignore it. It is a fucking racket.
texas is faring worse than most states because the people in charge decided to eschew the united energy infrastructures of the east and west. On top of that, our houses and roads aren't built for this and we're getting floods due to burst pipes and now we are losing water also.

That said, I agree no power during the heat is also terrible. A few years ago I lost my air conditioner for two weeks in texas summer, I wanted to die.

I've had no power for 48 hours, my apartment quickly fell to like 20 degrees

Today a water pipe ruptured and flooded the place with freezing water. and yes I was letting water out properly. In response to all the flooding, they just shut down water for the entire complex. Now those people don't have heat, electricity, or even water, and there is further freezing weather for the next few days. I'm only ok because I abandoned the apartment and drove to my friend who has power bc he lives next to a hospital.

So yes it's really that bad

Also not all texans have much winter clothing

If this is anything like when CT's power company screwed the pooch a few years ago on this level, nothing will happen. Ours rebranded to make it seem like there was a new power company put in charge, but it was all bullshit.

The entire state was down for over a week, and some parts took almost a month to get power back, during a massive snowstorm/coldsnap.
Texas already had legislation in 2011 I believe to prevent this from happening, and I think they just ignored it and allowed it to happen again anyway.

Yeah idk why but he's weirdly fixated on the narrative of dumb Texans. And ignores all the advantages northern states have for coping with freezing conditions. Thinks it's as simple as "just drive slowly lol"

we all lost power at 1:30 and they still haven't restored it and it's 40 degrees inside my apartment and they might not be able to bring it back for literal days.

There isnt even enough electricity in Texas to effectively do rolling blackouts so instead we are just cut indefinitely while it's 8 degrees outside rn.

Food trucks haven't been able to deliver to grocery stores reliably for days and it's gonna be worse now.

It's 6 inches of snow here, but the real problem is the 8 degree temperature which is gonna stay below freezing for some more days.

Hopefully things don't get worse!

texas has just been issued an energy emergency alert level 3. Meaning they will initiate rolling power outages due to the high demand. certain areas will be without traffic lights and other infrastructure

ERCOT has initiated system-wide rotating outages three times in the history of ERCOT (Dec. 22, 1989, April 17, 2006 and Feb. 2, 2011).

This is what it looks like in Austin right now: https://streamable.com/ktj7py The temperature will stay below freezing for days, so the snow and ice will be sticking around for a bit. Very unusual for Texas.

Another reason Texas grocery stores are so empty is because of power outages.

When the power goes out, and items aren't refrigerated for an hour or more, the store throws them out. My store has to throw out shelves and shelves of items that are meant to be kept cold. It has already happened to my HEB a few days ago. I was there today and the lights flickered off for about fifteen seconds but luckily came back on.

Trees near power cables aren't trimmed in expectations of ice storms in Texas the way they are in northern states, so we get more power outages as a result. Also, the trees here aren't as coniferous, they are wider and droopier and cause more outages.

Power outages don't just mess things up for grocery stores, they also cause food to spoil elsewhere or to make it impossible to transport.

So yes ice messes up grocery stores badly in texas. If you live in a state that has adapted to it then you should appreciate the perks you get and be grateful you get all that buffer space to protect your roads and grocery system from too much disruption.
