451 is definitely in my top 5 of Brand New songs. The chorus just hits like a freight train, then comes back to run you over for good-measure, and being preluded by the spoken word line each time gives us such an ethereal feeling to me. And that bridge right before the last chorus is amazing.

Really cool you liked SUV & ED. The RE track is a little difference since it's from the side action-oriented Mercs mode rather than the main game, which is why it's less atmospheric focused. And it's true I wasn't totally nominating for VGMC purposes, but I was still interested in their potential regardless.

@Corrik7 I've been playing Days Gone, it's solid so far. Takes what you expect from a typical zombie survival sandbox and I just really like how everything controls and feels.

10. Tom Clancys Splinter Cell: Conviction
Though polarizing for many SC fans, I loved this game. The cover & marking system is so satisfying and the game has a great style with its use of black & white. I actually really love Blacklist a lot too but as petty as it may seem no Ironside in the game does kind of suck.

9. The Last of Us
One of the best narratives in gaming along with gameplay that balances survival horror and third-person action in fights that are cinematic, messy, and intense.

8. Resident Evil 2
My first run through this game was top 5 of all time material. Subsequent playthroughs start to show cracks for me but this is undeniably a well-crafted, amazing remake of one of my favorite games of all time and easily the most challenging mainstream survival horror game of the decade.

7. Devil May Cry 5
Best gameplay of the DMC series by far. Literally every character feels so good to control and smash through every demon in your way. Doesn't skimp on the difficulty and Bloody Palace is as addicting as ever.

6. Overwatch
I barely play this anymore but at the top of its popularity, I played this religiously and I cherish those times so much. I still adore the lore and characters of the game a lot and I'm hoping OW2 pulls me in again.

5. Shadows of the Damned
Funniest game I've ever played, along with solid RE4-style gameplay and an awesome depiction of Hell with well-designed monsters.

4. Dusk
Not only an amazing homage to 90s shooters with fluid, fast gameplay, but an amazing horror game as well with Lovecraftian overtones, legitimately scary setpieces, and even delves into psychological horror with mind-bending level design.

3. Outlast 2
One of the best horror sequels of all time. An unrelenting journey that leaves little room for catching your breath or for processing the next fucked-up thing you just witnessed. The visuals of this game in all departments are simply superb.

2. Max Payne 3
Talk about gripping. James McCaffrey absolutely slays it as Max and the story is so well-told with beats of dark comedy with Max's self-deprecating humor and intensity that rivals film. The bullet time in this game also feels so damn satisfying!

1. Spec Ops: The Line
This game definitely messed me up. The way the game slowly reveals its hand in its storytelling is so amazing and it still astounds me that a story with this much scope and depth is contained in such an under-the-radar, unassuming mid-range title. I was lucky enough to not really know what this game was about on my first playthrough, and I just bought it because I thought the demo was pretty fun. I was exactly the type of person this game was primed for and it definitely worked its magic on me. With touches of psychological horror and a campaign that never stops ramping up the intensity to insane degrees, it might be a long time before another game of this magnitude comes around again for me.

It's a funny enough movie. Doesn't hold up much on a rewatch I think. The film obviously exaggerates its premise to make its point, so I don't totally agree with it.

Thankfully I had this realization pretty early on. I think around the time maybe Assassin's Creed Revelations came out I stopped caring about going for 100% or seeing all the things a game has to offer. That Ubi open-world formula really makes you realize how vapid a lot of side content can really be. Pretty much the only games I'll 100% now are survival horror games.
