In order to round it out in a more comfortable way, we're gonna narrow down the 58-game tie into the most popular of the group. We won't necessarily have a top 2, but we will get as close to that as possible.

I actually just played one of the games on that list in between sending my list and today, and I would have voted for it. Oops.

Pikmin 3 not making it would be a travesty. I really feel like that game is 10/10-worthy, and would be a shoe-in if it didn't release on a paperweight of a system.

If we're going that route, I'll say that The House in Fata Morgana would be the only thing here where I'd be actively annoyed if it didn't make the cut

Ratchet & Clank (2016) was such an excellent remake and the best R&C game made so far.

I'm annoyed at myself for not participating in the nomination phase, because Civ 5 would've been on the list if I had.

From the games on this list, Journey is the one I most hope makes the field. It was such a novel experience and it's the first game I introduced my wife to when we started dating.

I didn't participate in the nomination phase, but I'm okay with that. I can't think of anything immediately off the top of my head that I don't see represented in the 98 or 58 that had any shot of doing anything.

Went 18/20 on my games making the list, and I thought the last two I nominated had no chance of making the cut, but miraculously, some other schmuck out there apparently loves Trauma Team as much as I do.

10/20, and with three in this list here makes 13/20.

Kinda sad maybe nobody else realized Bayonetta came out on January 5, 2010 but I expected it. If Mega Man 10 makes it through here all will be forgiven easily.

Really surprised by no Baba Is You, a pretty good deal of my top 20 made it, that's the only one I'm surprised didn't

....I'm both shocked and pleased by how many of my list made it to here. ....Less pleased that only six of mine made it to the top 98.

It's doubtful given the other SMT snubs, but can you double check SMT: Strange Journey too? It's also a 2009 Japanese/2010 NA release.

Expected most of my list to not make it anywhere but bummer there's no Spec Ops: The Line or DMC5 here at all. However I'm extremely happy at least one other person recognized Max Payne 3.

Im surprised Subnautica made it onto the list. Its such an underrated game that I feel not many have played due to its genre.

As someone who bought Tetris Effect about a week ago and have been playing it in VR multiple hours every day since, I still barely left it off my list of 5 I sent in my pm. It's a really beautiful game, but I don't really know if it'll be a game I look back on years down the road and go "yeah, that's definitely one of my favorite games of that period." Meanwhile, there are exactly 5 games on this list that are older that I truly adore.

The story and message of Detroit Become Human might be spotty at best, but its presentation, world building, and atmosphere are pretty dope. One of the most beautiful PS4 games I've played.

I struggle to think of Overclocked as a proper remake instead of just an enhanced port. Either way I disagree, though. 1 absolutely has better atmosphere, but 2 has better everything else imo. Granted I didn't play the 3DS version, so maybe gameplay was enhanced enough to overpass? But even then Record Breaker included the brand new scenario instead of just 8th days, so I'd still probably rank it ahead.

I only played the 3DS versions, and the gameplay was exactly the same in 1 and 2. The 8th days were very good as well!

Yeah, they were counted separately. I suppose I can add Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call on here, but we already have over 30 votes in so I'm doubtful it stands much of a chance.

while there's a handful of games there I really like, Bioshock Infinite and Journey are both arguably in my top 5 of all time and I really, really want to see them progress

As for the top 98, while a bunch of games I love made it in, I think I'm most sad to see God of War III and What Remains of Edith Finch didn't make the cut

In all honesty, I've never even touched dqx myself, but I have spent a good... 50ish hours watching others play it and wanted it to get some recognition. But yeah besides digital I'm not surprised they went totally avoided. Still a shame though
