Well I certainly liked Beau but not sure what I think of the last bits yet.

I'm watching Beau is Afraid tomorrow and I really hope it's excellent. I agree I haven't really highly enjoyed too much of the horror slate this year besides M3GAN and Evil Dead Rise (which I still had plenty of issues with).

I am conflicted because yes I do actually think the last bit with the movie is a well-done capstone on the show. Pitch-perfect commentary on how we consume violence and how media colors our perception of real life stories.

It should've ended with the season 3 finale I think. And I say that despite season 4 having some truly golden episodes and moments, especially episode 4.

The worst thing I can say is that the finale was merely "good". I think as an exploration of Barry's themes, with characters unable to change and the banality and pointlessness of violence, it mostly hit the mark, but in terms of actual plot, some hard to swallow turns like Gene being suddenly framed so easily and the showdown between Fuches and Hank felt strangely rushed to me.
