Just posting to say that I'm totally still interested in Minecraft, but I finally got a job and they have me working 9.5 hours for eleven days straight so I haven't really had the time to get on. It should sort of slow down in about a week though.

Alright I caved and pulled out my old box of DS games to get into this. At 500 points now

Questions: Do the coins ever expire, how often are new items added, and what do I gain by hitting Platinum?

Wondering if I should just leave it like this, spend them, and give the codes I haven't used yet (along with my bonus Pokemon ones, I own two of each version) to my brother so he can get something too, or if I should just shoot for Platinum.

More people looked at Kickstarter and just so happened to see the feminist one out of the thousands of projects on there that day than the other one. This could be anything from their system of essentially ransom sorting to maybe the other one got picked as an editors choice on a particularly high traffic day.

The feminist one became more of a news sensation for various reasons, probably to do with the violent response to it while the other one just seems like a good cause, I don't imagine many are getting up in arms about it and therefore it isn't as much of a story.

Kickstarter historically has huge last days for projects, and the feminist one is over while the other one still has ten days left to continue earning.

I'd keep going, but you're just going to say 'whoosh' anyway so why bother? The point is, everyone in the world didn't see both projects and make a conscious decision to only heavily fund one. At best this says something about the incredibly small fanbase that Kickstarter can claim out of the entire internet. It's one hell of a stretch to apply that to society as a whole.

I hadn't heard of the Banks one prior to this topic, and I'd only heard about the feminist one because it became something of a sensation for the reaction it received and got put on news websites. Call me a white knight, but I imagine that might have just a little bit to do with this.

I think it's amazingly sad that so many people get so angry over a woman trying to research the portrayal of women in media. It doesn't really matter what your reasoning is, whether because you think there is no issue or because you think men have it just as bad or what have you, this is really a thing which makes you rage this hard?

I think the response to her kickstarter alone, not just from the obvious trolls but from people in this very topic, illustrates the need for it in our society.
