I'm actually working on building a Danger/Kaiju rank 8 deck now. I don't think I'll get it done by the end of this Xyz event, but even so, I think it'll be a fun deck to use later on.

It's a fantastic show so far even without factoring in the fanservice, but then on top of that the fanservice is absolutely top notch.

So in between "getting OTK'd" and "watching the opponent OTK themselves" I had a really crazy duel in the Xyz event. I was using my Trap Monster Xyz deck and I ended up against a Machine/Train deck. I almost got killed quickly after my traps got Feather Duster'd right away, but I survived and was able to get a few trap monsters to defend me along with Imperial Custom to keep them from being destroyed. I had to do a lot of stalling, but eventually I managed to win on turn 37 by turning two of my trap monsters into Big Eye and yanking my opponent's Gustav Max to kill them with it.

I literally do not have one single deck on either of my accounts that's remotely playable in this Xyz event thanks to this banlist. The only thing that I might be able to do is modify my Trap Monster Eldlich deck to remove the Eldlich stuff and just Xyz summon with my trap monsters.

I'm set for the eventual Fusion cup thanks to my Ancient Gear deck, but I've got nothing for Synchros or Links either.

Man, I had a terrible night tonight. It took me 13 duels to get the 4 wins I needed to complete the daily "2 ranked wins" challenge on both my accounts, and I'm not sure the 4th one even counted because the server went into maintenance and booted me out right after the duel ended. Of my 9 losses, 6 were me getting OTK'd (4 of those by Exodia), and of my 4 wins, 2 were Exodia decks failing their combo and 1 was a disconnect. So in 13 duels, I only had one single win that actually felt satisfying, and it was the one that might not count due to the maintenance.

Still in Plat5 and I just got OTK'd by the most galaxy brain Exodia deck that I've ever seen.

Dude was straight-up using the Exodia pieces for Synchro and Link summons to run through his deck until he got all four limbs in the graveyard and two Dark Factory of Mass Production to bring them back to his hand once he finally drew the head. And it was all made possible by that god-forsaken panda.

Don't lewd the Pokemon, that's weird. Humanized versions of them are fair game though.

I now have four different Eldlich decks done on my side account, plus two more Eldlich builds that I have planned but don't have the gems/materials to build yet. I don't know why I'm having so much fun with Gold Daddy Eldlich in this game, but he's great.

Wew lads. I made an Eldlich player ragequit. I banished his 1st one with Onimous Omen and then he flips skill drain. I'm chilling with a D.D. Crow in-hand and banish his 2nd. He searches the 3rd and I Maxx C it since why wouldn't I? What do I draw off of the Maxx "C"? My 2nd D.D. Crow. Rammed into his Eldlich and he got his 3rd one crow'd. As soon as I targeted he scoops. It was great.

And this is why my Eldlich builds have alternate ways to win besides depending on Gold Daddy.

I'm doing pretty good but the vertigo sucks since it's still there when I'm shifting in bed. Laying flat all night sucks. Still can't play games long the bright moving things are too much stimulation.

Until the second he appears on WWE television, I'm 100% convinced this is a work.

In storyline, him "leaving" the company and coming back would eliminate the "I can never challenge for the AEW World Championship again" stipulation from his title match with Jericho in 2019, then he comes back as an absolute megaheel, wins the world title, and then eventually puts over one of the four pillars and makes them a megastar. This is what I'm convinced will happen until an actual appearance on WWE television proves otherwise.

All the respect for playing monarchs in this format. I have moved away from both my trap based decks because of all the extra backrow hate. Also people are busting out all the cute soft lock decks that they just flow chart to platinum.

I say it's a "Monarch" deck because it runs a lot of the Monarch cards, but really, I win most of my duels by getting Vanity's/Majesty's Fiend set up. A lot of the time, if I get one or both of those up and March Of The Monarchs protecting them, then a lot of people/decks just can't do anything about it and scoop.

Speaking of Eldlich, I switched over to my side account where I have an Eldlich deck myself, and I just made a Drytron deck ragequit with it. I went first, set 5 and passed, and activated Skill Drain in the middle of his combo (his summons and combo were unaffected) so his Herald Of Ultimateness would already be negated when it came out. Then I activated all 4 of my other traps, he took the bait and threw away his whole hand activating his Herald's negate ability only for it to be negated by Skill Drain, and then he scooped.

I have 1 Jinzo and 2 Royal Decree in my Monarch deck specifically because Eldlich decks are so common. If this game was best-of-3, they'd be in my side deck. Decree is easier to use on a moment's notice, but Jinzo can be protected from effects with March Of The Monarchs once I get it out.

Wait... Quaking Mirror Force in Sky Striker deck? Thats weird.

He really liked going into Sky Striker Ace Hayate, the one that can attack directly. I think his whole strategy was to keep the opponent's monsters from doing anything with QMF and the various Sky Striker spells/traps while he keeps chipping away 1500 at a time with Hayate. It's definitely one of the more unique Sky Striker decks that I've seen in action, and it made for a really fun opponent.

I made it to Platinum on my main account, and both the duel in Gold1 that put me into Plat5 and my first duel in Plat5 were amazing.

The duel in Gold1 that put me in Plat5 was against an Atlantean/Mermail water deck. At one point, my opponent had Trishula Zero Dragon of the Ice Barrier (which cleared my field), the water attribute Elemental Lord (which made me discard my entire hand), and some big rank 7 Xyz monster whose name I can't remember. I had no cards on the field or in my hand and was staring down those three big monsters, but between graveyard effects and well-timed removals (including getting rid of the Elemental Lord first and triggering its downside that the opponent had to skip their next battle phase) I was able to claw back into it, clear the opponent's big monsters out, set up Vanity's Fiend with March of the Monarchs protecting it, and eventually win.

Then right after that, my first duel in Plat5 was an hour-long, 24-turn odyssey against a Sky Striker deck. I kept disrupting their plays with Domain and Vanity's/Majesty's Fiend, while they kept disrupting my attacks with Quaking Mirror Force and getting rid of my big monsters by stealing them with Widow Anchor and then sending them to the grave with some other Sky Striker card they had. Going into the final turn, I had 800 LP and none of my tribute monsters out but a few fodders in defense mode, my opponent had 1300 LP and no cards left protecting them except their last set copy of Quaking Mirror Force that they had grabbed with Duality, and both of us had no cards in our hand and less than 10 cards in our decks... then I top-decked Jinzo, summoned it to stop their trap, and attacked for game.

These two duels were the most fun I've had playing Yu-Gi-Oh in a very long time.

To be fair, SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE had already ripped off Deep Six's wheel, so it was likely only able to go around in circles and would have been counted out anyways Plus, as dumb as bots getting stuck in the killsaw slots is, I think it works as a balancing tool to keep the "race for the low ground" in check. Bots with huge forks for low ground have to drive carefully to avoid what's essentially a hazard that affects them more than the others. It's just a shame that Deep Six needs its forks for stability and not just for low ground.

Netflix has the rights to the Saint Seiya franchise these days, and both Digimon and Pretty Cure are too kid-friendly for Toonami (which is the only dedicated anime block on US TV these days and is a part of Adult Swim) so One Piece was really the only option that made sense.

Toei Animation is just really insistent on having at least one of their shows on American television for some reason. It's not a coincidence that Toonami let One Piece expire shortly after they started showing Dragon Ball Super and that One Piece came back to the block shortly after Toonami removed the re-runs of Dragon Ball Super from the block.

@ToadallyAwesome Just wanted to let you know that you're not the only one enjoying Toadbro right now. I just made a Marincess deck that also uses some frogs (3 Swap, 1 Ronin) as part of its Link engine, and it can also Xyz into Toadally Awesome (I also run a few of those Paleo traps) or Xyz into Bahamut Shark and summon Toadally that way. I haven't taken it online yet (meaning I haven't added in the "necessary to play the game online" handtraps like Maxx C) but it's been fun to play against some of the solo mode opponents.

Crunchyroll did do that for Killer Queen, and I'm 99% sure that Netflix uses the same names in the subtitles that Crunchyroll did.

That's been happening in literally every single part that's had those music references, all the way back to part 3 with Centerfold (originally J. Geil), Dan Of Steel (originally Steely Dan) and more. The official subtitles have always been doing that for copyright reasons. The only way you could have had subtitles that completely matched the original names from the Japanese version was if you were pirating it with fansubs.

I watched a report today that said the Rams' history goes all the way back to when they were the Cleveland Rams.

It wasn't just that they left, it was how they left. Breaching contracts, ignoring the city trying to get a new stadium built, gutting the roster and losing games to make it seem like a move to LA would "revitalize the franchise", lying to the city by promising that the land Kroenke bought in California wouldn't be used for an NFL stadium (which it was), keeping the city in the dark until just before the move to LA was made official... it came out later that the Rams even internally labeled their farewell letter to the city as the "AMF" (short for "adios motherfuckers") letter.

Kroenke and the Rams purposefully and systematically fucked over the city of St. Louis, and the $790 million they had to pay out to the city in a massive lawsuit settlement was far from enough to repair the damage. So fuck the Rams, fuck Stan Kroenke, and fuck just about everyone in that organization.

Except for Matthew Stafford, he's cool.

That was an amazing main event! There was a ton of hits and both bots took a lot of damage, but Hypershock took control and landed a big hit to knock Lock-Jaw out of the arena and get the win Great end to a pretty good episode overall.

Kraken got fucking robbed. Hijinx shouldn't have got a single control or aggression point. The only reason it even got to touch Kraken is because Kraken let it.

I could understand Hijinx getting one point of aggression, because it looked like they did still try to move towards Kraken regularly despite having an inverted bot with inverted controls. But control should have definitely been 3-0 for Kraken.

Man, I really hope they didn't show that sad story about Minotaur dude's mom/grandma dying of COVID only for Minotaur to immediately lose afterwards. I hope he gets the win and thankfully he did.

Eldlitch Trains

I'm going to use my trap monster Eldlich deck (that I posted here a few days ago) on my side account for this one. The Golden Land trap monsters can make rank 5's while Gold Daddy and Metal Reflect Slime can make rank 10's.

The overlap with Eldlich and Frogs is kinda crazy.

The fact that the Paleozoic cards do NOT count as trap cards when they're summoned by their GY effect (so they don't get protected by Imperial Custom and can't be used to summon Uria if I decide to add it in) is why I'm not running them in my Eldlich build.

An in-game notification just announced the game's first event starting on the 17th: the Xyz Festival! For this event, your extra deck can only contain Xyz monsters. No Fusions, Synchros, or Links. It's unclear if you can use a deck with a totally empty extra deck (like my Monarch deck) as of right now. There will also be loaner decks available for the event, but you'll get more points if you use your own deck.

Yes, it gives you a bunch of extra crafting materials and I believe you get enough gems back across the whole pass to make back the 600 gems you spend on it. Plus the seasons are so long that most players should have no trouble maxing out the 100 tiers and getting all of the rewards. I already have it maxed on my main account and on tier 71 on my side account, and there's still 50+ days left in the season.
