Actually, they never said that. Just that it was an alternate tale to the one presented in Sun/Moon.

In fact, the Direct trailer showed the exact same scene from the original Sun/Moon of the MC, Hau, and Lusamine watch as an Ultra Beast break into Aether Paradise, but with the new male MC instead.

Oh okay, I thought I had heard at one point that these were an entirely new story. My bad.

3 episodes in and The Reflection isn't really all that interesting. Might drop it and wait until it's finished. There's some cool designs and I like the voice work, but so far the story is boring me to tears.

It definitely started slow, but I've seen through episode 5 and it looks like things will pick up later. Waiting until it ends to binge it might be a good idea. Speaking of shows that started slow but got way better later on... the final episode of Sakurada Reset aired today and I'm not sure if my body is ready to watch it yet.

Maybe after the Nintendo Direct.

Only anime I ever ventured out to see in public was Madoka Rebellion when they did a theatrical release here a few years back. I still have this poster board thing I got from it. It has Sayaka and Kyoko on it I think. I tried to trade some guy for Homura but he wouldn't trade me......

I've only seen two anime movies in theaters (Your Name and Yu-Gi-Oh Dark Side of Dimensions) and both of them were fun experiences. I wanted to do the same with the Girls Und Panzer movie, but there were no theaters near me showing it, and it looks like the same will be the case for the NGNL movie.

Just finished ep 10 of New Game... why do i feel that Ko-chan is gonna quit the company?

I just watched the episode too, and I kind of see why you would think that. But my personal guess is that, at the end of the season, Ko will retire from game-making altogether and find some way to pass the torch to Aoba. It would be more of a "my job here is done, now it's your turn" exit from the company, not an exit caused by anything bad. That seems like a fitting ending to the series if there's no plans for a third season in the future. EDIT: I saw a post on r/anime talking about Ko potentially becoming a freelancer to hone her skills after being beaten in the design contest by Aoba. If a third season does happen, Ko leading the development of a game for a different company competing with Aoba and Eagle Jump would be an awesome way to do it.

I also found out today that the BanG Dream OVA finally got subbed, so I'm going to watch that before I go to bed.

Oh dear lord, it's being localized by Rising Star Games. I'm gonna warn you, if you aren't familiar with RSG, they are probably the worst translators among all localizers. Their "masterpiece" Lux-Pain on the DS was so infamous, an article was written about it and localization companies literally use it as a reference for how not to localize a game.

I though Aksys was localizing it, considering the localization trailer is on their website and youtube channel...

That "thing" isn't really a character in itself. Humikane, the original creator/artist of the Strike Witches series, uses that adorable little black silhouette in some official artworks to symbolize another character (usually the main character, Yoshika Miyafuji, although others have been used sometimes) trying to suppress their lesbian urges to ravage the girl being featured in the image. This version of Yoshika has been nicknamed "silhouette demon" and "yuri demon" by fans of the series.



Although it started as an in-joke by the official artist, it has also been used by tons of fanartists (as you can see in all those pics of Strike Witches girls that I posted) as tribute to the artist and to Yoshika's comical yuri tendencies in the show.

I'm just going to finish this discussion by saying this: the haters and jerkasses are always the vocal minority, no matter what the fanbase is.

One last random side note before I go to bed, this game finally came out and I'm going to buy it tonight. I'll let you guys know after I play it tomorrow if it's fun.

Even some of the wrestlers themselves are anime fans and make references. Hell, Cesaro and Sheamus incorporated the DBZ fusion dance into their entrance!

As a fan of both wrestling and anime... honestly, I don't understand why the two fanbases show hate towards each other. Pro wrestling is pretty much the closest we've come to having real-life shounen anime. They have a lot more in common than people seem to realize.

Watched an episode. It's alright. Is there a dub? It always drives me crazy when anime is in British Land or America and everyone is speaking Japanese.

I agree with you that shows that take place in a country that's clearly not Asian at all shouldn't be watched in Japanese, but sadly, Princess Principal has no dub as of now. The subbed voices are at least really good though.

They're barely in the school anyways so that's not really an issue, they just use it as just another setting for character development or plot advancement since its basically their base of operation.

Pretty much. The school is just their base and not a setting for the main parts of the show.

It hasn't nosedived. Yes, there are a couple episodes that are calmer and more mellow, but there's still plenty of great action. Pop, episode 5 is the one that started to really sell people on Princess Principal. If you make it through that episode and you still aren't into it, then just drop the show. But at least give it until episode 5.

What about if someone used to live somewhere and kept rooting for that city's teams even after they moved somewhere else? I still cheer for the Miami teams that I liked when I was a kid growing up near Miami, even though I live in St. Louis now.

Football: Dolphins and Steelers
Basketball: Heat and Bulls

I also sort of cheer for the Chiefs since they're the closest team to me now that the Rams left. But a lot of my family (including my mother, god rest her soul) were Steelers fans too, so I decided to make them my second instead.

That was a small part of it. Looking back on it, I think Nintendo/Gamefreak had meant for B/W to be a hard "reboot" of the Pokemon series, to try and get fans off of their first gen nostalgia, but it backfired and made fans angry. Now in the 6th/7th gens, it feels like they've done the exact opposite and gone too far into the first gen nostalgia pandering. Anyways, in terms of gameplay and features, B/W had a lot of flaws, and it just felt slow and uninteresting to me.

The main thing I'll give B/W positive credit for was actually having an interesting story, including the gym leaders and villains doing more than just being gym leaders and villains. The Dream World minigames on the global link website being linked to getting stuff in the main game was an ambitious move as well.

As I mentioned, B2/W2 fixed the majority of B/W's gameplay problems and added a lot more content while expanding on the story that B/W did so well.

BW may not have added much aside from Hidden Abilities and two dead formats, but it had way more post game than RS and DP and was actually not a chore to play through.

I just enjoyed D/P a bit more. The region was more interesting, the gameplay wasn't as bad, the Pokemon selection (except for a severe lack of fire types) was better... everything besides the story itself felt a bit more fun in D/P than B/W. That's just my opinion though, so of course some will disagree.

In my experience, people that grew up playing DPP are the only ones that actually like it. So I guess you're like 17 then, which explains the shitpost.

First off, I'm 26.
Secondly, while Diamond and Pearl were flawed but enjoyable, Platinum fixed pretty much every single problem people had with those games and is one of the best games in the series. Then you throw in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, which were also gen 4 and are by far the best remakes the series has made, and 4th gen is easily one of the best overall. If we're not counting remakes with their respective gens, then yeah, 4th gen isn't the best. But if remakes are counted, then 4th gen is arguably the best one.

I meant that some people might see them that way. I think the original G/S/C were fun games, but they were also very glitchy and unstable ones like R/B/Y. The gameplay is dated as well. The level balancing was the biggest flaw in the Johto games, which is the one flaw that HG/SS didn't fix from the original... I shouldn't be fighting Pokemon below level 20 on my way to the 7th gym badge. I'd personally rank G/S/C somewhere in the middle of the pack, but there are harsher critics than me out there.

R/S are down there at the bottom too. D/P are a bit above them though, since they added a bunch of great features and had a bit more postgame content.
