Fuck Pokelabo, I'll still never forgive them for Symphogear XDU Global.

So apparently, Assault Lily: Last Bullet is getting an English release. This is a pleasant surprise. I was interested in this game because I liked the anime (also it's very gay and the girls have very thick thighs) but the game was JP only for so long that I had given up on it getting an English release. I'm not sure how much I'll actually like the game, but considering I'm only playing Revue Starlight and D4DJ right now, I may as well give it a shot.

Also, considering how little I play and talk about gacha games anymore, if someone else wants to make the next topic when this one hits 500, go ahead. I've long since run out of clever ideas for the topic title anyways.

Did any of your gacha games you play do anything special for April Fools? D4DJ Groovy Mix had a little mini event where Yuka, D4DJ's resident "muscle and fitness" girl, basically took over the game and the official Twitter account, re-branding it to Groovy Muscle. They even added a cover of Onegai Muscle (the OP for the anime How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?) as a playable song too, and it's very catchy.

Finally finished listening to all of the remaining songs that I hadn't listened to yet.

* Even without knowing the lyrics, Juvenile hit me in the feels just with the visuals and the song itself.
* Go Team Bidoof was adorable and catchy, always love seeing the best HM mule in the franchise get some love.
* If Team Rocket had blasted Party Rock Eternity over the airwaves when they tried taking over the Goldenrod Radio Tower in G/S/C, their plan would have succeeded, because that song is an absolute fucking banger and no one would have tried to stop them.
* Journey's Prequels, Journey's Traces had the most adorable, diabetes-inducing visuals of all of the videos. The song itself was good too.
* Psychic Psychic felt like one big acid trip, both with the music and the visuals. All of the rainbow colors and Psychic-types popping in at weird times was bizarre, especially the Deoxys showing up to clap out of nowhere. It was a fun acid trip though.
* Glorious Day was the perfect finale to end this on. A banger song coupled with amazing visuals that showed off all of the Mikus from the project (it even furthered the fan-favorite Flying/Ground yuri ship) and the final sequence felt like a battle straight out of the Pokemon anime.

Between the art, the songs, and the new Miku designs (that I hope we see more of in the future), this was a pretty fun collab overall. Ground Miku still best girl.

There's a reason why I never post AI art here. It doesn't look good, and it's clear based on the reactions that people generally don't want to see it.

Also, I've been over this many times before, but I'll say it again: I use an off-site host and don't use this site's built-in image embedder because the built-in embedder shrinks the images and kills the image quality. I have no problems with others choosing to use it, but I won't use it myself.

Generally, I agree that it would be an overreaction, but it depends on the situation and context. If the game/franchise was already leaning heavily into the yuri with no sign of male characters, then suddenly a male character shows up and throws a wrench in the middle of already existing dynamics (like the Blue Reflection Sun fiasco) then I'd say the fanbase who got into the game/franchise for the yuri to begin with has a right to complain.

Which Miku do you guys like the best?

My knowledge of Mikus is limited, so I'm actually not familiar with any of the ones you posted. Out of all the Miku designs I'm familiar with aside from the Project Voltage ones already posted in this topic, my favorites are probably Deep Sea Girl Miku (from the song of the same name) and Vivid Bad Squad Miku (from the Project Sekai mobile game, associated with the group of the same name).

Takt op dedzo. It's sad but yeah I think it was a bit misguided. I feel a bit bad for LAM sensei dayo~'s terrific art and the series' general decent references to music but oh well, can't always be winners

I fully expected the global version to die quickly, but I'm a little surprised to see the JP version dying so early too. Not too surprised though, the game always seemed like it was doomed. Maybe if it hadn't been delayed so much and came out closer to when the anime aired (it aired Fall 2021 and the game didn't come out until partway into 2023) it might have been able to ride the hype of the anime a bit and survive longer. But by the time it came out, the hype had cooled off significantly, and the game itself still didn't launch in that good a state even after the delay.

What are your guys thoughts on devs that put their same characters in other games?

I have very little experience with this (only Cygames having a few Granblue and Rage of Bahamut characters appear in PriConne and Mihoyo having a few HI3 characters appear in Star Rail) and those really didn't bother me. Aside from Anne/Grea in the PriConne example (only because I watched their anime) they were all essentially new characters to me anyways because I never played the previous game they came from.

You ever see a character and think "wow she's a bitch, but she's a really fun bitch"... because that's basically how I feel about Elsie in D4DJ. I really hope Bushiroad makes another D4DJ anime season focusing on Abyssmare and Unichord (the two bands from the game who didn't appear in the anime yet aside from very minor cameos in the last episode of S2) so I can see more of this adorable bitch in all her glory.
