I was trying to finish a sacred beast deck with gems I just got because I don't want to run rank 8 blue eyes. Somehow I pulled a toadally awesome maybe this is a good sign!

I've gone 5-1 with a budget Pacifis Paleo deck thus far, just had to take a break after running into the one guy who decided to play Exodia minus the head and with no other minions. I was so confused because I thought it was a weird gimmick deck like Exodia Necros and hadn't noticed that Big E was banned.

no idea how Numeron Network players have fun. Worst of all is somehow I have 3 copies of it myself

If I had an unlimited supply of gems I'd make a Kozmo deck for this format.

That said, I'm really happy that I made a Photon deck when I first started because it's paying off. Good ol CDI (itself a Kozmo staple). You get a ton of gems at the start of this event

How good are the loaner decks for the event?

Is anybody else getting errors? I can't do anything anymore.

Well I found more people having issues. Not surprising considering how many gems you can make at the moment. Guess this is how the game economy will be.

So, the decks in this event have quickly devolved into either "Numeron/Utopia/Galaxy Eyes OTK" and "Suicide", with the occasion DM deck popping up.

So using a loaner deck only gives you 50 points while using your own gives 100.

Ill play with the loaner decks since I have no resources to make a dedicated xyz deck right now

Do you get points regardless of wins or losses? If so is there a difference? My main account runs madolche so I'll just lose out on my link monster but can throw in something to round it out.

Tfw I won three times. One DC'd, one quit when I was about to lose, the other tried to lose and went first so it was faster to defeat them.

FUCK Lyrulisc Assembled Nightingale. "You take no damage for the rest of the turn" quick effect on a deck that can shit out Xyz so consistently is absurd.

I made Neo Galaxy Eyes that game and stripped the Nightingale of all 5 of the rest of its Xyz material and it still didn't matter because they then just attacked my defense position monster to make Zeus

I haven't had time to play the XYZ festival cuz I'm in LA for a concert but Im laughing at all these memes of people running suicide decks to get duels done faster and still getting medals

Just played a guy who lost on his first turn I didn't even get to play which would have been cool but I had a pretty sweet hand

thats what happened to me before

So something I learned is that tokens can't be used for xyz summons. Just a heads up for anyone who is deck building for it.

Haha, Galaxy Tomahawk would be even crazier than it already is

But yeah, Tokens can only exist "face up on the field". They can be tributed or used as Synchro/Link material, but not Xyz because a token cannot exist as Xyz material. That also means Cyber Dragon Infinity cannot target a token to add as material; the token can't even be destroyed by the effect as its just not a valid target.

Weirdly, cards like Relinquished can equip tokens as equip spell cards though. But more weirdly, apparently the ruling is that the token loses its ATK/DEF values as a result and becomes 0/0.

This is the stupidest deck I've faced in this exhibition.

I'm surprised with how many decks were hit that dinosaurs escaped the ban hammer somehow. Considering how powerful they are even with any extra deck.

So in between "getting OTK'd" and "watching the opponent OTK themselves" I had a really crazy duel in the Xyz event. I was using my Trap Monster Xyz deck and I ended up against a Machine/Train deck. I almost got killed quickly after my traps got Feather Duster'd right away, but I survived and was able to get a few trap monsters to defend me along with Imperial Custom to keep them from being destroyed. I had to do a lot of stalling, but eventually I managed to win on turn 37 by turning two of my trap monsters into Big Eye and yanking my opponent's Gustav Max to kill them with it.

Can I just say I hate Numeron Network.

It's such a dumb card.

Obviously there are still a few degenerate decks but I'm having a lot more fun with this event then ranked daily missions. To be fair 50% of people instantly blowing themselves up isn't exactly getting to play but its a hell of a lot better and FASTER then 20 minutes of combos.

The last event mission I need is spell activation since my frog deck was just traps and frogs so now I'm running a lot of quick spells like twin twisters.

Also another friendly pro-tip. You can't ash blossom dangers.

Can't you technically do so, but because it doesn't destroy the card and it's still in their hand and isn't a once per turn, meaning they can just reveal it again afterwards?

Would be great at getting people to blow an ash blossom if so.

Ash doesn't destroy and dangers aren't once per a turn effects. So negating the effect accomplishes nothing. It's funny how many times I've seen my opponent ash my Danger! only for them to -1 themselves.

Ah then I remembered right.

Yeah it's great when the opponent does something like that. Or they activate something but because it wasn't at the end of their chain, accidentally missed the timing for an effect to resolve. Or with tiaramisu there's floating effects on top of timing rules that are unusual since it doesn't target with her primary effect, and in turn that leads to instances of frustration because I know they can't do anything unless they chain a new destroy effect after my effects get put into the chain.

I'm actually working on building a Danger/Kaiju rank 8 deck now. I don't think I'll get it done by the end of this Xyz event, but even so, I think it'll be a fun deck to use later on.

Took a break to do the new lightsworn gate and it's probably the most fun gate I've done so far. Lightsworn was a deck I remember experimenting with back when I was bigger player of yugioh and seeing the new support actually got me engaged with the loaner decks.
