Even without dramatically changing the battle system or the general story layout (Beat eight gyms and a major tournament with some sort of region-specific plotline along the way), I feel like they could have done a lot better than they did with Sword/Shield. While I enjoyed the gym challenge as a whole, and the wild areas, and both DLC, Gen 8 felt a lot more lackluster than Gen 7, but at least they were better in a few ways than LG E/P. A lot of that for me had to do with the fact that Leon and Sonia were so insisting on cucking you out of the "regional lore and badguy squashing" portion of the game. Yes, Sonia tells you a lot about the Darkest Days and you do eventually beat Eternatus/calm down the version Legendary....but it feels less like you're actively participating. And even then, since I did another playthrough recently, I still feel like I know more about the league challenge itself - which is what the game itself wanted you to know about - than any of the regional lore or even why Rose did what he did. --- |

| Aysander 02/05/21 9:27:15 AM #73 | FF4 is pretty much the best place to start in terms of the main line FF games imo. -Slight introduction to the Job system that's prevalent in some of the other games, just without the actual job changing/management. -Generally decent characters overall, especially the "core" cast (Cecil, Golbez, and Rydia) -Has a final boss that is a bit disappointing but the main enemy general makes up for it. -Lali fucking Ho, bitches. While 6 is another good contender for a first game it's also a little rougher as a game. 4 is a lot more narrative focused with some helpful side content that you may miss if you are not careful, while 6 is missable side content: the game a lot of times --- |

Steiner v Zidane is kinda one-sided (With Zidane basically trolling) and Cloud vs Seph got a lot of build up but honestly feels again, one-sided/trollish. Kain vs Cecil should have never really been a rivalry, hell pre Plot it was more like Kain respected his working relationship and straight-up friendship Cecil. Voted "Other", because honestly FF14 has a well-played rivalry between Cid and Nero, not counting any of the minor short term rivalries or rivalries between plot-relevant characters like Sadu and Magnai. So Cid vs Nero it is. --- |

It's good to do and digest in between the serious plot moments and honestly that's the general consensus on what the quest was intended for (no Dev commentary on if this is true though). He's gotten a sidequest in every expansion aside from Shadowbringers, where it so far more or less makes sense for him not to show up. Heavensward...yeah, I'd argue prior to Shadowbringers (Which largely features Emet) it's the best expansion or at least an amazing one, depending on where your tastes lie. While a lot of people think Stormblood was kinda meh comparatively...I honestly liked it as much as Heavensward. --- |

I don't have to do repairs, or pay for gas and water unless I exceed predefined usage limits. I seldom ever come close to those limits, let alone exceed them. That's with three of us living in this house. On an income of around $1600 a month from myself and $850 in SSI from my mom.We don't have to maintain the house or the surrounding property but we do have to pay a small maintenance fee whenever a light goes out, or a fixture in the house breaks from wear-and-tear or personal error. Trash has to be done once a week and if you have a pet you have to clean up after them. Relatively standard rules. We are also a smoke free/drug free property. If you have to smoke, you need to go out to the road to do it. If you have illegal drugs at all, you're given 3 chances to clean up or else you're gone. Landlords absolutely are not the only way rentals can be handled. And all of my past landlords have either been extremely vile or basically servants to a larger corp that would raise our rent with no real reason for doing so, and not even warning us UNTIL the rent was due at the new rates. Landlords are also not exactly the entire issue with housing prices though. A lot of it is extremely lax rental and price regulation that has lobbied for by groups with a vested interest in driving your rent prices and your mortgage payments as high as they possibly can. Blaming the landlords is honestly foolish, since there ARE good ones. The oandemic is hard on everyone, landlords included, and honestly we need incentives for both the people who cannot pay rent, and the landlords themselves. --- |
