2) Do battle themes count as character themes? I see that Man with the Machine Gun has already been nominated, but I feel like battle themes should be removed if the music is never played for a character outside of battle (Laguna, Gilgamesh, Jenova, etc). Just want some clarification.

Both fantastic pieces of music that truly represent their characters.

My third nomination might technically be cheating. The rules seem to be that nominations have to be from the FF series, not exclusively the games, so:

3) Cloud Smiles - FFVII: Advent Children

Cloud doesn't have a proper theme that's entirely his own in the game (a lot of sources consider the main theme to be his), so I chose this. My personal nitpick that I can fly into an hour long rant about is basically "Cloud has a damn good reason to be depressed and mopey after the game because the poor guy is extremely traumatized." This theme is him starting to heal and it personally means a lot to me.

I also still tear up at this scene in the movie. I can usually hold it in until he looks past the crowd and sees Aerith. There's a lot wrong with Advent Children, but I have always liked how it handled this aspect of his character.

Turks theme is definitely a weird one but it's not used for battles. I think we can allow it since it is "their theme".

But this obviously won't apply to every situation. We'll address them as they pop up.

Also a tough one, since Laguna's theme is his battle theme. This being the case, I'm going to allow it strictly because Aerith's theme is also a battle theme at the end of Disc one, so...makes sense. Granted Her's is a special battle while Lagunas is also the regular battle theme while playing as him.

I suppose It's fine if one song fits into multiple categories. We'll play it by ear

Appreciate the input. This is still really really really tough to narrow down. I while there are a ton of great ones (particularly from FF6), the ones I want added the most are Golbez, the Red Wings, Locke, Rachel, Shadow, Aerith, the Turks, and Sephiroth. From those... Ill narrow it down to:

Golbez (FF4)
Red Wings (FF4)
Rachel (FF6)

Also, it would never get nominated, but shoutout to the Mysterious Girls theme from FF4: The After Years. Thats a really good one, IMO.

Id say no for that one being Cecils theme, but if were allowing the Turks for FF7, then the Red Wings theme should allowed as a group theme. And its another really strong contender that I hadnt considered. In fact, Im gonna edit my post and replace the Turks with the Red Wings.
