I've cast a pretty wide net, I guess. I think the stadium warehouse and my current data cabling jobs have been my favorite. They're the only two where I haven't hated either my bosses or the customers with a passion. I was pretty damn great in the warehouse and was on track for a management position in the next year, but their contract expired and they got outbid for the next season. The new company only kept like 3 people from the entire staff. I'm still salty about it.

One of them was the owner. Complete asshole who regularly screamed at employees in front of everyone for things everybody knew either weren't the person's fault or weren't wrong in the first place. But nobody had the balls to say or do anything about it. I put up with it for about a year and a half because I wasn't usually the target of his rage, but eventually even I'd had enough and quit. Ran into one of my coworkers randomly a couple months later and learned my leaving had opened the floodgates and nearly half the staff had followed me out the door since. Last I heard the business was barely staying afloat. Serves the prick right.

If I was ever handed a receipt like that, they would get $0 for the tip and the restaurant would lose a customer. Wouldn't bother going to a manager or anything that extreme 'cause there's no point and I'm not actively out for the person's job. And I'm sure any server obnoxious enough to pull that would be bitching loud enough for the rest of the night that the manager would find out anyway.

The fastest way to lose your tip is to act like you're entitled to it. But if you just give me good service and are polite, I'm usually a pretty generous tipper. The system is fucking stupid, but that's not the server's fault. And if a few extra bucks is going to make or break my finances I wouldn't be dining out in the first place.

I voted no, but it's got nothing to do with how attractive she is (which she is) or whether she's trans or not. I just would never date someone whose life revolves around IG/Twitter like that. Social media was a mistake and I'm not interested in being a part of that scene.

My cousin married a rich girl (her family had something to do with marijuana in Colorado right when it got legalized) and her family paid for the whole wedding. The catering had I think 2 Michelin stars, though I can't for the life of me remember the name of the place. Somewhere in New York, not far from NYC.

The food was...meh, I guess? It was a super fancy 7-course meal. The lamb was very good, but you only got like 3 bites of it. The soup was the only part you got any substantial amount of, but it was downright disgusting. I had 2 spoons of it and asked them to take it away because the smell alone was making me nauseous. The rest was painfully average. I would never waste my own money on crap like that, so I'm glad I got to have the experience on someone else's dime. I do not recommend it.

I hate being wet when I'm supposed to be dry. Totally fine as long as I'm actively in the water, be it showering or swimming or whatever. But the moment I'm out, my brain thinks "I should be dry but I'm not" and it's fucking miserable for an hour or two afterwards. I don't know why I'm like this and I hate it, but I can't really do anything about it beyond grit my teeth and be uncomfortable. Still doesn't stop me from showering regularly.

Their victims don't get a choice. Just because they were lucky doesn't excuse their stupid decision. Throw the book at them the moment they get caught. Ruin their life before they ruin someone else's, don't wait until after.

It is enough to affect their reaction times and decision making. You don't trust the person to make that call because by definition they're not thinking clearly. "Let the drunk guy decide how drunk he is" is one of the stupidest suggestions you could make.

Don't drink and drive. It doesn't get any simpler than that. If you drink, you don't drive. If you do, you deserve to get arrested. Period.

If you're a citizen of the country you should have a say in how it's run. Nobody should lose their right to vote.

To be fair, the software he was using was called ArtMoney. It's basically a version of CheatEngine, which would be just about the worst possible cheating software for a game as dynamic and complex as Destiny. And it's also not designed in any way to be stealthy, so even the most rudimentary anti-cheat would pick it up immediately.

I believe the guy when he says it was a mistake. I don't think he was using it to cheat in Destiny. I just also don't think that matters in the slightest and the perma-ban was completely justified.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Playing through it now, and there's a section where you fight through a huge ship battle in a thunderstorm that has been frozen in time. You can run on the surface of the sea, and there's giant lightning bolts, a huge tidal wave looming in the background, and flaming ships frozen mid-explosion. Pretty awesome looking area, but a shame it's kind of a short section you don't really need to revisit once you've cleared it.

There is likely no way Bungie could verify if he had actually been using the program to cheat in Destiny. All they could probably see is that a cheating software was running at the same time as Destiny was running. And you can't exactly take a suspected cheater's word for it when they say "I totally wasn't cheating, it was just running in the background" for obvious reasons.

Yes, many times. I usually send them, since I'm a bit of an exhibitionist. But only if asked. I've never sent one unsolicited and never will.

Dafuq you talking about? Transportation industry might get hit hard (but still be essential for cargo). But tourism would see a huge boost when everyone could visit anywhere they wanted to at any time. The only reason they'd be in trouble is because some places may find they suddenly have too many tourists to handle.

Touristy places would also gain a brand new means of income as a brand new industry of selling small pebbles and whatnot as teleportation focuses pops up.

I decided to try the game out yesterday. Been watching streams of it all week and it looked like a ton of fun. I have never in my life had such a massive discrepancy between what I watched others doing and what I experienced personally playing a game.

Launched the game and stared at "servers at capacity" for nearly 45 minutes. It finally lets me in and goes to that intro with military-green background and some text, and the game crashes my entire PC. Even the "gathering crash report" or whatever it is Windows does was frozen at 0% and refused to move. Had to hold the power button and hard reboot. Launch the game again and stare at "servers at capacity" for 20 minutes, and it finally lets me in. Go through the tutorial and everything's fine (though I changed like half the keybinds 'cause the defaults made zero sense to me). Named my ship the "Reign of Wrath" (which I'm going to remember for the future, badass ship name) and go to choose my first mission.

I had the same thought as Touch and figured I'd do the Bot faction missions first since there's a bonus for doing 8 of them. I was aware the matchmaking was fucked, so I just picked a random level 1 "Trivial" mission to evacuate civilians and launched solo. Drop in just outside the encampment far enough away that it didn't give me the danger warning on selection, and I'm immediately spotted anyway. Danger warning is apparently completely useless, good to know. -_- Start getting chased and don't have time to call in my machine gun, but I figured fuck it, it's level 1 so my assault rifle should be fine until I can get some space? lol The moment I got spotted, the drop ship warning popped up at the top and never went away because they never stopped arriving. I get swarmed and shredded in seconds. Playing solo means you don't really get to choose your respawn location, it's just automatically near where you died (which is fucking moronic) and I can't move the pod far enough to get out of range of the ever-growing mass of enemies. I die the second time before I've even gotten control of my character. And then again. On the fourth drop I finally get enough distance to not be immediately shot, and start making a WIDE circle around the outpost to try and sneak in from behind. It surprisingly works and I manage to get inside and find one of the pods with the civvies and release them. But opening a damn door apparently alerts every enemy on the map to your exact location and drop ships stop bringing enemies in vaguely on the other side of the outpost and the next 2 drop literally right on top of me. I'm dead in seconds again, and my last respawn is another insta-death before I even get control. Mission failed. Well, that was fucking stupid. >_>

I figure it all went to shit because I alerted the enemies right out of the gate on accident, so I give it another go. This time dropping on the outskirts of the map and everything seems fine for a bit. Do a little exploring and find a couple minor POIs as I work my way towards the outpost. When I get there, there's only a couple of bots patrolling the edges so I just avoid them and sneak inside. I try to locate as many of the civilians as I can before I open any of them. Thinking maybe I can just open them and run before most of the infantry arrives. It works alright at first and I got half the civvies free before it started getting too hot and I had to get out of there. Did another wide circle around, but when I got back to the outpost on the other side there was like a hundred bots swarming around the outpost, so zero chance I could do anything. And the drop ships were still non-stop spawning more. It was that point when I realized the missions had to be glitched, and there was a reason every single mission on the planet was the exact same civilian rescue one that nobody else was playing. So I just abandoned it and went to try one of the Bug missions instead.

Picked a random level 1 Bug planet mission that wanted me to reactivate a radar tower. Dropped on the outskirts again from an abundance of caution. Was in no way necessary this time, because this one was actually "trivial" difficulty and I literally couldn't even find a single enemy for the first 5 minutes. Found several minor POIs along the way to the dish, which brought up yet another issue I hadn't seen anybody on streams have. I found a medal in one of the little caches and when I picked it up, my character completely froze in place. I could spin around and aim my weapon, but that's it. Couldn't shoot, couldn't swap weapons, couldn't reload, couldn't throw grenades, couldn't call stratagems, couldn't even crouch. Just stuck there looking around for almost 20 seconds before my character did this weird vibrating glitch spasm and suddenly I could move again and the game acted like nothing had happened. Continued on to the radar dish, activated it, and aligned it. I still haven't seen a single bug. Objectives complete, head to evac. I find 2 of the smallest bug type randomly patrolling the middle of nowhere on my way to the exit, but at this point I'm just saying screw it and ignoring them. Find another small cache of loot, and when I pick up an Uncommon Sample I get that same stupid frozen character shit again. Sure enough after like 20 seconds my guy spazzes out for a moment and then I can move again. I get to the beacon and activate it, and the game finally decides to send some enemies. Pull out my machine gun and mow down the first wave of half a dozen bugs and then wait like 30 seconds before another wave spawns. Kill them just as easily and then have a full minute wait for the evac ship to land without seeing another enemy. So I climb in and the little cutscene starts of the pelican flying up to my ship...and the game hard crashes my PC again.

Uninstalled. Refunded. I can't remember ever being so disappointed by a game with this much hype. Especially since I'd watched like a dozen hours of people playing it before I even bought it.

Computer tech is broken OP out of those. The entire goddamn world runs on tech now. You'd basically be the messiah.

Seems like every single big game is horribly buggy on PC on release (and for quite a while after). I guess if you don't plan on buying anything for 6 months after release, then sure

Honestly, most of the "horribly buggy" releases are overblown in terms of how broken they actually are. Not all of them, of course. There have been some absolute trash-tier PC versions. But the vast majority are minor problems that are either fixed by patches within a few days or by modders within a few hours.

And the existence of a modding scene for most games also gives an added benefit for PC. Modding alone often makes waiting a few months before picking up a game mean you get a straight-up better game than consoles got.

Yeah, I don't really get the point of console generations anymore. There's no reason to buy the new console when console makers demand devs make their new games available for last gen consoles too.

Not to mention that requiring games to work on last-gen consoles means they can never actually optimize for the new hardware, so the new consoles' versions of the games don't even look or play significantly better than the old ones' versions. Why even bother making a new console at that point?

I watch this and all I can think is those are definitely not their normal cheerleading uniforms and someone definitely made that decision for a reason.

Presumably they're hooked up to a line that pulls it automatically once they're away from the plane, like paratroopers. They don't actually pull their own chute.

I'm trying to temper my hype by reminding myself that the first time I picked up Dragons Dogma 1, I was completely lost and had no idea what the game wanted me to do. I forget what it was exactly, but there was a pretty major game mechanic that I had just completely misunderstood. I got super frustrated and quit after just a few hours thinking the game was total garbage. I only went back like a month later after a friend mentioned he started playing "this crazy awesome game that nobody seems to know anything about." And as an example of it being awesome, before even mentioning the name of the game, he proceeded to explain the exact mechanic that I had gotten so completely wrong. I couldn't stop laughing for like 5 minutes, and all I managed to get out was "You're playing Dragon's Dogma!" I reinstalled the game that night and fell in love. XD

We had the girls kissing poster in our house at college.

We had a tradition of having girls take pics copying the poster in front of the poster, which we'd then put up on the wall next to it. Just going to stress that it was the girls' idea, not me or my housemates. >_>
