Then compare that number to the amount Sony has lost on using said license. Most of those movies, even though they're bombs, still technically made money. Morbius eventually made 167M on an 80M budget. Madame Web is around 50M on a budget of 80M, which is a loss of 30M, but Morbius' profits more than make up for it. It's also because they don't really know what else to fund as a tent pole blockbuster every year. They've got Zelda from Nintendo so they've been looking for something else.
