My theory is that Brann was the one who gave Aegon his prophetic dream, during the Battle of Winterfell. During that event Brann "wargs" out of the battle at some point, and nothing is explained of that event afterwards, AFAIK. I believe it will be revealed that Aegon's dream set things in motion in the exact way they needed to happen in order for Arya to kill The Night King, and Brann was knocking the first domino. It's also clear that part of the prophecy is "wrong" or "misinterpreted" by Aegon.

Never said it was good. It's essentially fan service.

Bran will do nothing, but become the King, for no reason at all. It is written.

Why do people hate Bran as king so much? He's literally the best possible candidate.

The prophecy was pointless in the show. If the books ever continue it will be relevant there, but the season 8 fanfic content doesn't exist there.

It could be that Bran is the source though. The Targaryens have a history of prophetic dreams, obviously with Daenys the Dreamer especially, but it's entirely possible all of them could come from Bran or Bloodraven since they are necessary to set the stage for the fight against the white walkers.

I remember them throwing around theories for the original show and none of them were true. Woulda been a better season 8 if they were because what we actually got sucked ass

Common sense says it may not taste good, but it'll make a turd.

I don't mind Bran as king at all, I just mind the way they ultimately got there. Trying to do it in six episodes made it a fucking joke.

That shit could've been WAY cooler and more deserved, but it needed far more fleshing out and time to develop.

Oh yeah I agree. "Killing" Bran and making the boring ass "Three Eyed Raven Bran" persona definetly was a blow. Arya rejecting becoming a faceless woman was much more character defining.

Hell, in the books it looks more likely Bran is gonna be a villain than the one who sets the pieces up to end the Others

The Targaryen's are known for having prophetic dreams, it is how they knew the Doom of Valyria was coming and are the only ones who survived it. I highly doubt these dreams are from Bran, or that this show is even "canon" with the original series... especially because the one Aegon saw told him that a Targaryen must always be on the Iron Throne and that "all of Westeros" must be united to stand against the coming darkness. Dany wasn't even on the Iron Throne when the Night King was defeated, and the "all of Westeros" certainly wasn't united against the White Walkers.
