Paternal grandfather died about 10 years before I was born from cancer (yes, he smoked - started with the lungs and spread all over the body, according to my dad).

Maternal grandfather died when I was 18 and on my first semester at university - combination of strokes, lung cancer, and pneumonia.

I am kinda interested in checking out Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park - lots of sci-fi shows and movies were filmed there. I mean, the odd-looking rock formations, the semi-arid climate...place just gives off some kind of alien world vibe.

I didn't get Internet at home until after I got my degree almost 21 years ago - it was dial-up, IIRC. Didn't get a cable modem until a little more than a year later.

My dad, on the other hand, is a coffee fiend. Drinks it black, and drinks so much coffee that I swear his birthday is a national holiday in Brazil.

Got pulled over a few times (twice for running a red light, 3 times for speeding).

Cops got involved in a couple of wrecks I was in - got a ticket for one of them (following too closely).

Cops came over to my house when my folks wanted to file a report regarding a stolen laptop. Before they arrived, my mom called a (now ex) friend of my brother's and somebody else who was here when the laptop was discovered missing. Reason why I said ex-friend of my brother's was because he was the one who took it - I suspected he did when Mom let him know the cops would be coming by just to get a statement, and he issued a vehement denial he took it. He was caught red-handed with it about a month and a half later - his parents and my parents struck a deal so he wouldn't have charges pressed (lucky him, if it was up to me, it would've been "Book him, Danno").

Cops came over to my workplace once when a homeless bum showed up (probably drunk or strung out, I don't know) and was a real nuisance - they took that loudmouth, slapped on the cuffs, and got him out of there.

In all cases, they were polite and professional - one of those times I got pulled over, they cut me some slack when I admitted I was going too fast, keep up the good work.

Last time I went to Dave & Buster's...about last October or thereabouts. I remember it was during football season and they had a deal regarding chicken wings. I considered giving it a try, but went with something else.

I remember my first exposure to Newgrounds - my brother loaded it up on a computer at a public library that he and I were using. We started in with the one where you waste the members of Hanson - it was so damn funny I was roaring with laughter. Me and my brother nearly got thrown out of the library because of that.

I was laid off in August 2008 and I applied for unemployment. After some difficulty (had to call them up to see what was going on), I got my payments. I exhausted my benefits by the time I found another job.

Never applied for unemployment again after that - been regularly employed.

I've been filling up at $1.53/gallon at my usual gas station the past few weeks. In the weeks before all this lockdown/quarantine stuff went on, the lowest it would go would be around $2.10/gallon before it jumps back around $2.40/gallon.
