There's one station near here that hasn't changed their prices in several years. I think their pumps are broken or something and they can't update the price. Half of them are out of order. I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually buying gas there, but somehow they're still open.

They're back up from the insane lows they were at a couple weeks ago (now $0.80-0.82/L, instead of $0.73), but still far, far below seasonal average prices (which are usually around $1.10/L by now).

According to that, the national average for regular (non-E85) is $1.768

Where I'm at is below that.

I remember gas being in the 50-60 cent per gallon range when I was a kid, but adjusted for inflation that's about $2.50.

I never used to stop if gas was above 1.29 in the 90s. I have seen as low as 0.99. I've filled for 1.19 the last two weeks.

One gas station I drove up to yesterday had a price .30c higher than everyone else

Even with the gas pump light on on my dash, I went elsewhere

Still haven't seen a $1.99 price yet

Lower demand + an export war between two oil-producing nations means that the prices should be way down... but they're propped up by ludicrous gas taxes.

CT's gas tax is 43-cents on the gallon, which jumps to 62-cents when you factor in the federal tax as well.

I've been filling up at $1.53/gallon at my usual gas station the past few weeks. In the weeks before all this lockdown/quarantine stuff went on, the lowest it would go would be around $2.10/gallon before it jumps back around $2.40/gallon.
