a little tough love to myself but if it motivates anyone else, kudos.

You are overweight, it is not cool, or something to celebrate. Every pound you lose is a pound that you shouldn't have had in the first place, because you were enjoying yourself too much. The current you is what happens when you don't take care of your body and should serve as a reminder of what you could be if you ever forget that. Never stop working until you're happy with the you you are. The seats aren't too small on airplanes/amusement parks and there's nothing wrong with the weight limits on many activities, you're just too big because you were lazy and negligent and even when you saw a problem you didn't rectify it.

So do better, be better. Work harder than anyone so you can enjoy life, while you're still young or very soon you will be living a pathetic life, lonely and taking medication to combat your many weight related illnesses and injuries, to die a early death at the hands of a heart attack. Enjoy the fact that each day you wake up you are better and more healthier than the day before, never give up or lose sight of your goal. Everything in this world will be better when you return to the realm of the healthy.

my left knee is still slightly injured... doesnm't hurt to walk but feels very... weird and stretching gives some slight relief for a little bit.

i compensated by only doing brief cardio, nothing that would put too much pressure on it. After that i did some good ol fashioned clanging and banging

it'll do that too. As long as your clothes are starting to fit better the process is working, even if scientifically challenged you might have a "woosh" where you just drop a bunch of weight all at once

Thanks for chiming in! So, after giving it some thought, I've come to a realization I might be experiencing this issue because I've recently started taking steroids. No, not the Mark McGwire kind that goes in your butt, but some medication the doctor prescribed for my mobility issues. It seems like I'm retaining fluids like crazy and not peeing them out. On the bright side, my pants are falling off because I'm shedding weight, so even with the scale saying that I know I am the right direction. I'm looking fabulous and feeling... well, let's just say not exactly fine. I keep telling myself I'm feeling fine, but truth be told, it's bothering me. Here's hoping I can start making some serious gains, maybe that can be a plus since I have lose so much good mass while losing weight.
here's what i do

abandon the scale, unless you spent thousands of dollars on it its unreliable, don't let it dictate your actions or progress. If people can notice your weight loss you're doing the right thing. You say you notice your clothes fitting better, thats a guarantee of weight loss right there.

Hell, my scale weighs me differently depending on where i'm standing in the house. In some spots it says I've gained almost 12 pounds since my last inbody scan 2 weeks ago(bullshit) and in other spots it says i've stayed the same, lost 2 pounds, or lost 14 pounds since then. Digital scale too.

I'm strictly following CICO, factually speaking there is no way my body composition is exactly the same as it was 2 or 3 weeks ago, or even last week given the massive deficits i have been putting up.

One good thing i read that keeps me on track that might help you is "Nobody would care if they said you could be 500 pounds and still have your ideal body"

Okay I am back at 197 on my Wii scale. I no when in got the lower number it could have just been a glitch or something. Because today it said since last week. I have gained 6 pounds. And while I am not great at eye balling weight gain and lost. I know that didn't happen. I also know that I could have gone up since I wasn't moving around at all last week. But again I know I did not gain all of that. So I am going to keep pushing. I know when I go to the doctor I will be out of the 100 club l when I have to weigh in with more then just shorts. But I am ready for that. I know all ready it is going to be hard. But in bracing myself. Anywho...inam thinking about getting some hooters. I am not giving up or giving in
But I had some the other day and Damn.
weight fluctuates a lot, theres no way people put on 6 pounds of true fat in a week or two unless they absolutely go bonkers and eat pure junk food all day every day. Sometimes we just retain a lot of water due to high sodium diets

i got full off eating a small bag of Haribo peaches as a snack. I only ate like 4 and my tummy was like "no more" even though by all means relative to my body i barely ate anything that day besides 3 chicken strips, water, and that.

I think my stomach is shrinking and my body is just expecting that i'll generally eat a lot less than I used to lol

Rest is as important as being in the gym. Remember that, your body needs to rest to build . As for your knees, you can try knee sleeves. I have some from Amazon for like 7 or 9 dollars something like that. And they work really well. They can go up to the 50s and more. But my little cheap ones have helped my knees on leg day.
yeah i didn't really feel like i needed to rest because i feel fine each day. my left knee is just bad and i need to strengthen it. I was gonna get up and get dressed to do classes today but my knee felt funny so i'm not gonna chance it ill just stay in this weekend.

on that note, i think my weight is stuck again lol scales are giving funny readings, i know they're inaccurate but in some cases it says i've gained weight. I won't live and die by the scale though i'll just continue working out and eating a lot less and eventually my body will have to give up and drop the weight

it's honestly astonishing how much weight loss just...varies. Everyone and their mom has a different opinion on weight loss and theres always studies and broscience and people debunking stuff. Just goes to show how complex the body is that theres no 100% guaranteed advice

on a side note. i'm finally getting into the groove of hitting the gym every day. I feel energized when i walk in and get changed, i sweat more, i push myself, i'm slimming down, people are noticing the difference, i'm eating a lot less too, like struggling to hit my BMR calories less. Weird feeling though to technically be more physically active than the average joe given my size lol. Felt a bit of a strain on my knees today though doing the leg press, I wanna do some free group classes tomorrow but i think I may need to just rest this weekend instead since i've been basically 5 days in a row and give my body time to heal

yeah ngl.... if i knew when i'd die i'd be far more likely to go big and press for more years. like if i live to 90 or something, i'd easily go for like 10 years worth of money.

so ill say 2-3 years for now. working on getting a lot healthier while i'm still young so i won't die of some health complication unless i get cancer or something. but $375k straight up is a life changing amount of money for me. I'd be able to pay all my bills off, repair my credit, put a down payment on a house, and live happily until I die. I'd take it a step further and get another $125k lol. Then I can start working on generational wealth and getting my mom taken care of

as to the dieting, in my case i still eat mostly the same foods i did pre-diet, but i'm a lot more careful of how much i'm eating. I set myftinesspal to about 10 pounds below my current weight, with aggressive 2 pounds per week loss, and i try to still be in a deficit below that number it gives me per day. It's not too hard given my size i can still comfortably eat 1500+ calories a day of pure food and i'm not even that hungry if i eat high in protein food. Yesterday i basically survived all day off a half rack of ribs and a few fries i had at 5am. wasn't even really hungry when i got home at 8pm but i ate because i was in a 1300+ calorie deficit below my daily goal for the day and i already did over an hour of exercise

i think my wakeup call that i'm too damn big is that i could barely fit on rides at universal, and in some cases, the ride fit was so uncomfortable it was like i couldn't fit on it at all.

I'm gonna get super serious about my dieting and exercising now. It's been a little over a month and i didn't lose as much as I hoped, I guess because i've been hanging out with my girlfriend and eating poorly some days, but I told her i can't be eating fast food like that anymore

I've been sustaining my diet for almost a month now, my face has visibly slimmed down from even my passport photo taken 2 months ago or less than that. I've been hitting the gym pretty consistently, seeing my trainer and I'm feeling pretty good. Still pretty big but it's a start that'll keep me motivated. I haven't completely given up tasty foods, if i did particularly good exercising/dieting for the week ill allow myself to indulge in a bit of ice cream or a dine out meal at a restaurant(which usually takes me 2 days to eat it anyway).

I think my next indulgence might be a can of sour cream and onion pringles. As i'm on the bigger side, I'll lose weight faster anyway, a 600 calorie can of pringles isn't gonna make or break me like it would someone who weighs 200 trying to lose weight lol. I'll probably do it on a gym day too so the calories i burn there will probably offset it, and the can usually takes me 2-3 days to finish anyway. So 200-300 calories a day isn't too bad, its just the added crap in it which should also be taken care of with the moderation

Weekly weigh in

Bad: Up 7 lbs. Ouch. But obviously that's mostly water weight. I've only eaten poorly for like 3 days. Hypothetically, I very much doubt I'm capable of having gained more than 1 or 2 lbs of fat. One solid week should put me right back where I was.

Good: My workouts feel like I have super strength because I have a lot more energy from actually eating. Hitting new PRs after poking my head out of a cut is really good feeling.

Mixed: Put on my suit for the funeral. It was tailored for me at about 30 lbs less than what I weigh currently. Pants still fit great. The jacket is very tight in the shoulders, arms and chest. Like you can see my biceps very clearly through it. I'm pretty sure I can flex out of this thing. I think the last time I wore it was almost two years ago. So I look goofy in it atm but it's because I'm too jacked.
Relatable, some of my old work clothes don't fit as well anymore, or i can barely even get my neck buckled and it partly inspired me to drop weight. But I want to drop it all the way and not just temporary so i've been eating lots of protein and carbs while intaking less calories so i can have my muscle mass

Ive upped my maximum calories from 900 to 1100 a day.

The 900 was really good for the initial weight loss, but after a month of sticking to it I found myself getting pretty weak. My lifts werent improving, and I just wasnt feeling as good anymore.

I officially made the switch earlier this week, after I stood up too fast and proceeded to black out for about 2 seconds.. Im trying not to be disappointed in myself for increasing my calories, but Im already feeling much better ^^
You were basically starving yourself tbh.

Idek how you managed to eat only 900 calories. Did you only eat once a day?

Second massive red flag, is you having to take her word that this arrangement ends in May and she cant be serious until then
Sure, I have no reason to believe she's lying. They are red flags, I thought about it, she explained it to my satisfaction and it made sense, and i lose nothing. From everything she's told me she has 0 interest in him and I've seen similar things happen before. Whether she wants to be serious or not makes 0 difference to me, honestly. Worst case scenario I find someone else to date, it's not the end of the world lol.

I wouldn't say mine is a similar situation but I dated someone in a social circle and we did it secretly. She hated the secrecy but I was worried about the effects on her since, while she was getting divorced, I didn't want either of us to get treated poorly for it since she was dating me before the divorce.

Plus, I had my reservations about dating because I didn't plan to date anyone but she liked me a lot and I liked her so I gave it a go anyway and it did exactly what I expected. Our social circle fell apart right after the breakup.
well this is slightly similar
so i guess wall of text nobody asked for, but I'm friends with this group of secretaries, i'm like one of the girls to them and probably refreshing because i don't hit on them all the time unlike the sheriffs officers, so during the judicial recess I'm covering emergent duty with one of their judges and we're working together, it goes well naturally but the person i'm dating(N for short, who is her assigned staff member on the team of my secretary friend) messed something up and the judge was upset so they asked me to show her how to do it. I show her, pay 0 attention to her, but a week later message her because I didn't know if she was in my union(i'm also a union rep) and we just ended up talkin, days go by and talking turns into slight flirting, then more flirting.. then she mentions a "husband" and i basically immediately pump my brakes. She clarifies later that they're actually divorced but that he's been in and out of the hospital but I guess she's been taking care of him/his family or something while he's hospitalized out of some feeling of obligation that is clearly taking a large mental toll on her.

I kinda kept it a secret also partly because ik she's told people at work she has a "husband" and it would probably be very...confusing to explain that she's dating someone. She says she refers to him as her husband because it's easier than explaining the situation, but this arrangement is supposed to come to a complete end in May and she said she'll get serious with me then because she'll be able to devote her full energy to me. And yes I do know for a fact they aren't still boning >_> she told me, unprompted, that she hasn't had sex in a long time lol

also slightly awkward because initially my secretary friend was talking trash about N saying how frustrated she was with her, so I feel like it'd slightly damage our friendship if i'm just like "Oh hey i'm actually seeing her now"

I was in a similar situation when I met my now wife. People that are too afraid to date at work are also too immature to handle a break up in a healthy way.
It's not that I'm afraid, I just know many people look down on it and think of it as unprofessional and many workplaces are outright against it. We mutually agreed that it's best to not go public, she's also seeking a transfer to my division to be closer to me and that definitely would throw a wrench in the plan lol

No. At the same time I don't get how the stipulation has blown up to be a bad thing.

It seems to be a badge of honor to struggle on your own in the states. If you have parents who are willing to let you live there for free, and both parties are happy, take advantage. There's no bonus points for struggling through life.
it's one of those self afflicted wounds in society. For men if you still live with your parents you "failed" while nobody really bats an eye if a woman still lives with her parents because they expect her to move in with her boyfriend or something.

Although that sentiment is slowly eroding as Gen Z/Alpha grows up
