Back to biking regularly at night. Ate chicken wings tonight but will get back on diet this weekend, I dont feel great after eating and probably should have just eaten Huel or one of my frozen meals.

Heart rate was higher than normal. Same on the ride yesterday. Climbing was a harder effort but data shows I may have fallen out of shape over my 10 minute break

My family is making me gain weight (haha)

They came to visit me. My sister is here for a short-term job and my parents joined her. They are stressing me out so much. I cope by eating a lot and they also keep telling me to eat more. I feel like I will soon be over 200 pounds. Sorry for the small rant.

I pay for my parents phone. My dad has been nagging me constantly for a new phone. I got him one but it arrived late on a day that I had to go to work early. He insisted that I set it up THAT night and not later. Then he complained about the phone, saying it was not good and this and that. He asked me to take him off the account. I did that, and now he wants to get back on it. He is old and as much as I love him and it pains me to say this, he is not as sharp as he used to be. So I cant get too angry but still. I ate and ate, and then finished a whole basket of fries from McDonalds.

Right after I started to meal perp.

This is a really good tip.

Reduce meal sizes. Only have two main dishes a day. Don't snack. Eat healthy food, and depending on your workout, rather low-carb and high protein focused.

Exercise regularly. Every step counts. Take the stairs instead of elevators. Go to the gym.

Most importantly, be patient. Loosing weight requires time. You will loose weight, if you follow some basic rules. It's impossible to not loose weight if you're doing this right. It's in your hands. You can do it.

Its actually the opposite, losing weight can simply be broken down by calories in/calories out. You can eat whatever you want, as long as you expend more calories you will lose weight.

I think anyone who is trying to lose weight benefits massively from calorie counting, especially at the beginning, its super easy w/ all the apps that are available, and it is pretty mind blowing to learn just how calorie dense some foods, even healthy foods, can be

I didn't mean to trivialize macro and micro nutrients, those are obviously super important and just because you are losing weight in a caloric deficit it doesn't mean you are getting "healthier." Some people on Ozempic are finding this out as they don't change their diet, they are mostly losing muscle and little fat because they are malnourished. I was just trying to say that calories are the most important thing to track when it comes down to a healthy diet, since even on a steady diet of eggs/chicken/broccoli/rice you can gain weight if you eat too much.

When it comes to making a healthy diet for yourself and lose weight, the first thing to do is pick a calorie goal and track it. The second thing is to break those calories down into a healthy ratio of carbs/fat/protein, and make sure you are hitting those goals. Finally you can use something like Cronometer to track your micro nutrients, and you can tweek your foods a bit to make sure you are hitting all those recommendations.

Basically the secret is don't eat too much (track your calories) and eat healthier options (hit your macros).

I havent weighed myself since I dropped below 200 pounds. Im afraid to see the scale and feel sad if I gained some weight back. My plan is to exercise hard for the next three weeks and then weigh myself on the 19th. I have a doctors appointment the following week. Starting from Monday, Im going to increase my cardio time from 30 to 50 minutes a day. I also need to improve my time management skills. I want to balance work, school, and workout. I wish I could block twitter on my Edge browser, but it requires me to sign up for a family plan. I dont want to do that. I think my life would be better without twitter.

I can't tell if you are at home or work. But if you are at home, use an air frier. They can crips up the chicken and you change up the flavoring easily .

I had a pre made meal. Today, it was horrible. I am just thinking got to lose weight. LOL

Weekly weigh in:
I continued to eat poorly this week, but im only like two pounds above what I was last week. I'm most likely at my full water weight. While this sounds bad, I'm able to compare apples to apples from the beginning of the year. So I'm down 9 lbs of mostly fat. That's a good chunk and like a third of the way to my end of year goal.

First week back on the bike after the NBA All Star Break. Counting Sunday I did 100 miles and 1500 ft elevation pretty easy with weights, but my weight is basically the same at 248.

Im supposed to implement swimming this week into my training along with a ramp up to outdoor running. If I can do that, hit 100 miles again on the bike, and keep up my diet, I may see 245 on the scale this week.

Remember two things. Good stuff might be happening in the background. You could be gaining muscle and scale still shows pounds. And if you are really at a place we're you are just not losing. Remember it could be the diet.

I am right there with you with sleep. Issues I have house guest and she wants to go the gym at 6 so between that and just having issues sleeping. My sleep as been shit . Starting next week i am going to put a nother effort in getting sleep. And if my body keeps waking me up early...I will just try to go back.

It happens. If it's a one off, it was probably just a bad day. Could've been lots of stuff, but nothing to worry about.

If it happens a second time, then it's probably a legit recovery issue that needs to be addressed. You'll either need to schedule more days in between working out that same muscle or take a hard look at your diet plan. The majority of us are here to lose weight, so we're eating at a deficit. That makes lifting troublesome. You'll either want to bump up you calories a couple hundred to keep your strength, bump down what you're lifting and make your peace with losing some muscle mass or address work out frequency to gear more towards just maintenance.

It's generally the best long term plan to lose as little muscle as possible. So you might want to up your calories. It's also very acceptable to lose a little bit of muscle. You'll gain it back pretty quickly once you ease up on your diet and eat at a slight surplus. So it's not a huge deal. Plus you're early in your lifting career, so no biggie on some losses. The very first thing I'd try is getting a good night's sleep and seeing if it happens again though.

I had a very off day today as well. I was at a new gym so I might have been just not use to their stuff. And I didn't eat what I should have yesterday. So I might have lost some mass. SO I don't know. I will go back to my gym to see. But overall good advice that I will be heeding.

Just wanted to add on to the good advice people have already said. Make sure your sleep and diet are dialed in, and you are getting enough protein.

I track all my lifts, but I dont pay too much attention to making a gain every time Im at the gym, some days you arent as rested or just feel off, no big deal. Just make sure you are pushing yourself at the gym even on bad days, pushing some lifts all the way to failure. Its really easy to just phone in a workout when you feel off and not get much out of it.

I remember on my honeymoon, we did a cruise and I gained like 15lbs. I felt awful and few of my clothes fit properly by the end of it. 6 lbs is nothing and most likely majority water weight. Glad you enjoyed yourself though.

Ategm horribly today. I had a depress issue. Then the Chinese place i wanted to go was picking up the phone. So i just went to McDonald's. Basket off fries. Kids high c. About 800 calories. But that is all I had for today.

Okay bad stuff out the way. My next pants came in....I am officially a size 38. But I can't keep having off days. I can't let depression led me down. The bad path. That is how I got in trouble in the first place. And it was odd I went into this dimly lit super market and it hit me. But am back to normal now.
