Ive upped my maximum calories from 900 to 1100 a day.

The 900 was really good for the initial weight loss, but after a month of sticking to it I found myself getting pretty weak. My lifts werent improving, and I just wasnt feeling as good anymore.

I officially made the switch earlier this week, after I stood up too fast and proceeded to black out for about 2 seconds.. Im trying not to be disappointed in myself for increasing my calories, but Im already feeling much better ^^

You were basically starving yourself tbh.

Idek how you managed to eat only 900 calories. Did you only eat once a day?

Another tactic that's pretty common is to periodically take a week and eat at maintenance. It'll help you recover a bit. I personally don't like to do that because I will often spiral out of control and eat everything in sight, but it does work for lots of folks.

She's tiny though. 1100 is probably in a healthier weight loss zone, but I doubt she was too far outside of it to worry much . The fact that she's monitoring her lifts and adjusting is a great sign that she won't be doing too much damage. The blackout thing is scary, but sometimes that shit just happens on off days too when you're pushing yourself.
[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Someone gave me some of that once. The macros are solid enough, but it tastes like doodoo. Picking a protein powder is always a weird balancing act of price, nutrition and it actually tasting okay. I stopped shopping around for them once I found one that's good enough.

As for me, this week has become a wash. My father in law passed. Lots of funeral stress. Lots of food that I shouldn't be eating. I haven't looked at a scale but it's going to look rough. My guess is an easy 5lbs simply because water weight will flood back in. That will also come right back off in a week, but the initial panic is there regardless.

She wasn't. She's little. And you can easily have two smaller balanced meals a day at 900.

It's the 200+ pound guys eating less than that who have me concerned.

Weekly weigh in

Bad: Up 7 lbs. Ouch. But obviously that's mostly water weight. I've only eaten poorly for like 3 days. Hypothetically, I very much doubt I'm capable of having gained more than 1 or 2 lbs of fat. One solid week should put me right back where I was.

Good: My workouts feel like I have super strength because I have a lot more energy from actually eating. Hitting new PRs after poking my head out of a cut is really good feeling.

Mixed: Put on my suit for the funeral. It was tailored for me at about 30 lbs less than what I weigh currently. Pants still fit great. The jacket is very tight in the shoulders, arms and chest. Like you can see my biceps very clearly through it. I'm pretty sure I can flex out of this thing. I think the last time I wore it was almost two years ago. So I look goofy in it atm but it's because I'm too jacked.

Relatable, some of my old work clothes don't fit as well anymore, or i can barely even get my neck buckled and it partly inspired me to drop weight. But I want to drop it all the way and not just temporary so i've been eating lots of protein and carbs while intaking less calories so i can have my muscle mass

Didn't have good week this week. Family is visiting and it is so hard to eat right and workout with them here. Don't want to kick them out LOL. Anywho I was so close to under 200 pounds. But I guess I am going to get back on the horse this week. I will give a weigh in good or bad on Monday when I can try to get to the In Body at my gym. They moved the scale to behind a counter and I don't know why they made it harder to access .

I've been sustaining my diet for almost a month now, my face has visibly slimmed down from even my passport photo taken 2 months ago or less than that. I've been hitting the gym pretty consistently, seeing my trainer and I'm feeling pretty good. Still pretty big but it's a start that'll keep me motivated. I haven't completely given up tasty foods, if i did particularly good exercising/dieting for the week ill allow myself to indulge in a bit of ice cream or a dine out meal at a restaurant(which usually takes me 2 days to eat it anyway).

I think my next indulgence might be a can of sour cream and onion pringles. As i'm on the bigger side, I'll lose weight faster anyway, a 600 calorie can of pringles isn't gonna make or break me like it would someone who weighs 200 trying to lose weight lol. I'll probably do it on a gym day too so the calories i burn there will probably offset it, and the can usually takes me 2-3 days to finish anyway. So 200-300 calories a day isn't too bad, its just the added crap in it which should also be taken care of with the moderation

Doing well on my diet and managed to ride for 7 miles on a stationary to keep my 11 week ride streak up on Zwift.

Rained a lot in my area, so no long rides or other activities. 248 after waking up, 252 after eating and drinking. Will aim to do leg stuff Monday along with about a 20 mile ride. The Magic don't play again until Thursday so I'm kind of at a loss until then.

The aim is 6 Huel Meals or shakes this week. I've learned all you have to do to make it taste good is boil the noodles and beans long enough.

Just got my tax refund and already bought 15lb weights for the home gym. Next purchase will be a desk treadmill. I gave mine to by GF (great decision, her legs look great and her lower abs and butt are so much tighter) but I need one for zone 2 work that is actually weight bearing. Riding a bike is great for your heart and muscles but only riding is not good for your bones long term. I need to run long distances this year and walking while doing stuff at my desk will help.

Meal prepping makes dieting so much easier in my opinion, I cook a ton of chicken breasts every Sunday or Monday that lasts throughout the week for lunches, and dinner I usually make something that has 3 or 4 portions that I can save for dinner throughout the week.

There are tons of cheap, easy to make, and tasty recipes online that have great macros and are low calorie.

Probably one of the most used meal prep carb source because its cheap and keeps well long as its stored well.
Has a bit of calories but my baseline calories is like 1800-2000 so i fit it in every now and then but keep the portions to only like a cup.

That I think I might do. Is cook some rice. And get a oven chicken from Sams or Costco. And just break that down. That should give me at least 4 or 5 days. So not much cooking and only spending about 9 dollars for a week of food.

Excellent work

Since we're posting meal prep photos I can add some of my go-to dishes. I keep about 24 glass plates of food in two chest freezers in my garage.

Cheap-olte Bowls. Raw pepers and onions, salsa, black beans, chicken thighs and hemp protein. Make about eight bowls at a time. I cook them in the microwave on lunch break so I put raw fajita veggies in and bury them under the beans so they don't turn to slop.

Not a fan of using rice in meal prepping. Beans work a lot better. Downside is farting but I work from home so it's not a big deal

You also have to freeze your meals if you don't want to have food safety concerns. When I was poor and worked in a warehouse I had to have one pay period worth of meals for every session. That's what people who start meal prepping kind of have to work through early on. You meal prep for when you can't cook, not when you don't want to. The goal is to have more food saved than you need.

Veggie Pasta is another big staple. Excellent source of fiber, easy on the stomach when you cook the noodles thoroughly. Enriched Vegetable Pasta, Black Beans, onions, peppers salsa, hemp protein, and mushrooms. Looks better than it tastes and is really good before or after eating junk food or alcohol.

Pasta or Chicken Dinner?

Im planning to do some meal prep this week. I have some containers coming tomorrow to store my food. I cant decide what to make first: pasta or chicken dinner.

Pasta would be easy and cheap. Just whole wheat pasta, turkey meat, and Prego sauce. Nothing fancy, but filling and tasty. I can make 5 meals out of it for almost nothing.

Chicken dinner would be more expensive, but also more flavorful. I would get a rotisserie chicken from Publix, some slaw, and some rice. This would cost me about $16 for 5 meals.

What do you think? Which one should I go for?

I wish you all luck in your weight loss journey. For me my weight has fluctuated a lot. Resulting in less than ideal results. But I have found the key to be finding something you enjoy. For me it was cycling outside. Weight lifting was just too boring for me but you may like it. For you it may be dancing or indoor roxk climbing or jiu jitsu. But if you enjoy doing it obviously you'll be doing it more.

Slaw might have a lot of extra calories depending on how much mayo. Can work it in depending how many calories you are trying to have per meal. And walmart, sams, or costco have cheaper rotisserie chicken than publix..

Probably just choose one this week and then the other next week to switch it up.

I appreciate the tip about the slaw. I made it with just the slaw mix and Fat Free Italian dressing. Its a good way to get some veggies in my diet, since I dont eat them much otherwise. I agree that mayo can be high in calories. Speaking of which, I had a small fry and a small drink from McDonalds today, and it was almost 400 calories! I had to stop eating for the day after that. I thought it was a small snack, but it turned out to be a big meal. And no protein at all. Thats why I need to start making some meal prep meals soon.

They had Benchmark day in my Studio Red class today, treadmill was basically run as far as you can in 9 minutes. I got 1.43 miles, averaged a 6:17 mile pace, I am pretty surprised since I have only been doing this HIT class a few times a week for like 2 months now. Like 6 years ago I peaked at a 5 minute mile when I was deep in Orange Theory, but after that I have hardly done any endurance cardio. Guess its true that cardio is something that actually does improve a bit as you get older

Nice 22 mile bike ride outdoors today on my day off. 2 hours of good cardio. Got a cool 3D camera w/ a motorcycle mount that will encourage me to ride in a lot of new areas with different people over the next few months.

I've been talking about meal prepping, but Huel has gotten really good to me. Not only is the mac and cheeze beginning to taste better, my weight was trending downward even though I wasn't exercising over the last 10 days. The shakes aren't bad either, a good alternative to snacking. You drink them and you aren't hungry anymore you may still be craving junk food but you won't be hungry.

User AngelsNAirwav3s that's an amazing pace you must really be in shape. It has to help that you're running indoors with the support of others but that's still a very good pace.
