Got through the gem phase of the XYZ event with Exo sisters. Only lost 3 more times twice due to bricking but once was the luckiest duelist having 2 active lightening storms in a row plus the ash for my Exosister Vadis.

Did a pull on the Madolche pack. Got one of the URs 6 to go. I guess Im an XYZ main now. Heroes have really gotten smacked in the head. Brick hands, weak boards. I slid down a whole rank trying to see if they would work.

Weirdly enough I have not dueled against any Flying C yet surprisingly. Just everyone has back row hate either Storm or Duster in their opening hand. Its giving me PTSD about setting anything in the back row cause it seems like its futile. O well.

So, they emergency banned Flying "C" from the XYZ event, and also released an updated banlist to start on the 28th. Amano-Iwato is down to 1, while three of the Runick spells (Destruction, Freezing Curses, and Slumber) are down to 2. Meanwhile, Thunder Dragonroar is off the list, as is Harp Horror, and Fusion Destiny is back to 2.

Nice to see Konami actually listen lol.

Shame that Shinobird players must suffer for Runick's sins. But then I think I've run into exactly one Shinobird player in my entire time playing so >_>

Fusion Destiny going back up makes me think they're prepping to hit Verte the next time they do a big dick "ban a bunch of UR problem cards" banlist. Two or three months, maybe? Or maybe the DPE engine is just genuinely not a problem in the current meta lol.

I really wish they'd implement a sort of dynamic ban list, so Spirit monsters can use Amano without restrictions. I love playing spirits smh.... >_>

Aside from the Amano hit, the banlist changes do basically nothing. The semi-limits don't hurt Runick at all, DPE isn't going to suddenly come back into vogue with Fusion Destiny at 2 because of the risk that Runick will banish their garnets (and even if it does, Bystials are coming soon and will kill it for good), and neither Thunder Dragon nor Orcust are a threat in this day and age even with those cards coming off the list.

Amano is dumb, but that's a single floodgate down. At least Amano spends your normal summon, which can be a big commitment. But goddamn there are way too many floodgates than comfortable. There's no way Floodgate centric Spright Runick isn't the best deck right now. What do you even do against a deck like that?

So Deer Note is fuckin sick. Turns E-Tele into a one card Chaos Ruler, and her graveyard effect chain blocks Ruler's mills, and revives Ze Amin to synchro with Ruler into Psychic End Punisher.

...which got turtle'd by a Dark Magician player. Cant even be mad. >_____>

Still no Clear Wings from the Speedroid pack, but I pulled a decent amount of UR dust at least. Think Im gonna keep pulling from them as I dont think I need/want anything else until Dracoslayers come out.

In the past 2 days, I've lost 21 coin tosses out of 24 duels. The 3 that I won were all against Numerons, where it didn't matter who won the toss because they would have made me go first anyways. Needless to say, I have not been having a good time.

Well...i can already do that I guess, and much easier, with Oafdragon Magician. But I think it'll sting my opponent more if I use the cosplayers <_<

Two completely useless waifu cards as part of a promotion.

Konami does like to throw references to their other game franchises into random Yu-gi-oh cards.

Also, apparently that first card has the highest DEF stat of any level 4 or lower normal monster, and (I think) the highest of any level 4 or lower monster that doesn't have a bad drawback or a weird summoning condition. So that's a neat bit of trivia, I guess.

2400 DEF normal Lv. 4 can be very neat lol

I hate Dark Magicians... They're just becoming the new Blue Eyes just with way more consistency. They're starting to ruin events. I once lost to a guy who drew 2 fucking magical circles and a hand full of things they can actually play, even though the deck has like 3 normal summonable monsters. The 2 circles mattered because I destroyed one and he just activated the other one, which basically snowballed into a loss. It's so dumb

They really shouldn't be playable in a friggin Xyz event, but I guess that's where we're at now.

Also I have a bit too many PUNKs now to not play them. What's even a good list anyways

I dunno, I'm mostly fine with DM because they're an underdog deck that ends on a HOPT banish that gets "negated" by MST >____>

Though some of their S/T combos are a pain in the ass. Skill Drain + Piercing the Darkness kills most of my decks lol. And yeah if I'm playing anything that relies on a normal summon the circle hurts. It hurts so bad.

I have built a Nemesis PUNK deck. PUNKs are very powerful, able to play through a really high amount of interruption. Deer Note needs quite a bit of stuff on hand but is very powerful if she goes through

The new engine is

3 x Ze Amin
1 x Deer Note
1 x Foxy Tune

(older engines liked to run 1 x Madame Spider and Dangerous Gabu as a searchable Imperm)

The combo is

• activate E-Tele/Normal Summon Ze Amin
• Ze Amin activate, pay 600 life points to add Foxy Tune
• Foxy Tune hand effect, discards itself and one other card to summon Deer Note from deck

Now you have any Lv 8 synchro of your choice. If you go into Chaos Ruler, the next part is

• Activate Chaos Ruler's summon effect and Deer Note's grave effect (Ruler CL1 if you're worried about Ash, Deer Note CL1 if you're worried about Belle. If you're playing pure Punk, it might be worth making Deer Note CL1 so you can get more Punk names into the grave)
• Deer Note's grave effect to summon Ze Amin if you want to go into a Lv 11 synchro, or summon Foxy Tune if you want to go into a Rank 8 Xyx (ie Zombie Vampire for more mills)

Keep in mind Deer Note and Foxy Tune are only soft garnets. You don't want to draw them but you can play just fine if you do.

From the several lists I've seen, for pure PUNK or even a heavy PUNK instead of just an engine, it's not bad to have 3 Foxy Tunes, 2 Deer Notes, and 3 of the other SR, and 1 of each of the N/Rs. You would also want at least 1-2 field and 1 trap which you can search with the other N. 3 Ze Amin is basically a fix amongst every use of PUNK though. She's a searcher who pays LP to do so

I've seen lists with 3 Deer Notes but I don't think it's necessary. They're not really Garnets as they can straight up just combo start. Garnets are stuff you want in the deck, and Deer Note has an on-hand effect which act as an extender if anything gets interrupted.

You don't necessarily need to go into the Chaos Ruler. Going into the lvl 8 PUNK synchro practically serves the same purpose, but Chaos Ruler revives itself once, which is a further combo extender, which is its biggest edge over the in-archetype lvl 8 synchro. But in pure PUNK, this is unnecessary as you can always just use the fusion enabler to summon a lvl 8 from the deck and also extend that into a bunch of other stuff

TIL Ze Amin and Deer Note are two different person (a twin)

I do have 2 (I think) Deer Notes and 3 Ze Amin (gee thanks 11k gems Sprite), so I guess that just leaves Foxy Tunes.

What even is Lv. 11 synchro? Mayakashi stuff and Shooting Savior Star Dragon.

Punk itself has a level 11 thats pretty strong iirc.

Psychic End Punisher is a 3500 beat stick with a banish effect, attack boost in battle phase, and his towers protection gets turned on since you paid life points to start the combo.

There is an in-archetype lvl 11 that's very good. It's incredibly easy to make with this archetype, and essentially you have every lvl 11 synchro available with this deck (except the Speedroid ones), as it's highly focused on summoning lvl 8s and lvl 3 tuners, with Deer Note being the lvl 5 that gives you access to lvl 8 synchros.

But the most ideal thing to end with is Psychic End Punisher, their main boss monster.

I didn't pull any of the previous PUNK cards (only whatever is in the current pack) u_u, and I have no URs due to Sprite.

If you don't have the fusion UR, you don't run the lvl 3 guy that can summon the fusion. If you don't have the Synchro lvl 11, then you should pretty much run a small package that summons PEP and nothing else. Not using a lot of the PUNK archetype don't make it feel that good to run the minimalist PUNK engine, actually.

At minimum, you need the 1 UR of the fusion and the lvl 11 synchro, 1 of the lvl 8 synchro. Having more is for turn 3 and on, but you never use more than 1 per turn as all the effects are once per turn. You can always run just like 2 of the SRs, make 2 lvl 8s, fill the rest with like rank 8 Xyz to facilitate Zeus, or some summon spam and link spam sub-engine that can facilitate summoning Avramax with IP or something like that.

You can also run a small Nemesis engine like I am in order to summon Colossus. A good tournament deck also ran a small Magician's Soul side engine in order to summon Herald, the lvl 4 synchro.

It's pretty flexible, but you do need the minimum amount of all the things I listed. Otherwise you shouldn't bother running PUNK imo. There are probably better engines. But if you do run like full PUNK with a sub-engine that's self sufficient (Mathmech, Therion, Naturia as all the important PUNK tuners are earth, Nemesis), it's very very good from what I tested if you manage to have all those pieces

This I can do, but I still need more SR CP for Foxy Tune and Ogre Dance, sadly.
Got 120 UR CP left after dismantling extras for 2x Spright Blues and 2x Spright Elfs (Elves?).

Youre still learning every time though. Imagine trying to play and still not reading. I had one guy use up to two destroys on Thunder Dragon Titan via Accesscode and then still crashed into it as well.
