Have you ever felt like you surrendered in shame so bad because you forgot Lightning Storm needs no face-up cards on your side of the field (and having absolutely no play afterwards because it depends on said Lightning Storm resolving).

edit: Why does Gem-Knight get such less restrictive from-the-deck fusion cards than Red-Eyes? smh

edit2: Lightning Storm is too limiting. I like Raigeki more for its unconditional use despite it only works for monster.

Shockingly an Adventure Salamangreat deck just top 4'd before getting some OCG cards on an upcoming fire themed pack. The deck runs like 15 hand traps for their primary interruption and just out-grinds opponents

Adventure Spright won it though. TCG Adventure engine banlist ratio is very different tbf, but I guess it's stronger than people think it is. Reading about it, it seems they have a great match up against Kashtira, which still had a deck in top 4.

Dracoback supposedly very strong against this deck because it punishes not going for full S/T lock

Lightning Storm is best when you open it, I keep waffling on crafting a third copy but 2 + FD usually does the trick if I want to go all out on board wipes. I only run it in decks that don't use face up S/T though, since it's a lot easier to proc Storm after getting wiped if you don't have any stray field spells or continuous traps lol.

But regardless I'm currently running 3 Evenly and 3 DRNM in any deck that can spare the space, so my Storms are collecting dust. :|

Oh that sounds cool. Guess it makes sense, since Heatsoul is a walking advantage engine, you're likely to draw into 2 extra handtraps from him alone.

Yeah I'm seeing the Heatsoul potential. Somehow I couldn't connect that ending the turn with him is good in other ways

I DO open Storm, but the rest of my hand depends on opponent not reading so it's a lost cause either way. :\

AW works best when there are some opponent monsters on the field, sadly.

I just got hit by this yesterday smh

My deck instantly crumbles because I lost both my extenders because I bricked.

Had a funny Exosister mirror where we both grinded each other down, ended up trading blows by top decking the main deck sisters and pinging eachother for 100 damage a turn. Heart of the cards chose me though cause I topdecked Martha before they did. >___>

Also dueled one of the most terrifying opponents that exist: players who have their priority toggles set to manual. Thought I was in the clear until they nib'd my Magnifica at the end of the main phase. Luckily they were playing Code Talkers. <___<

Kinda amazing how good Ancient Fairy Dragon is even with the errata. Field search, 1k LP heal, special a lvl 4 from hand, essentially no drawback on turn 1 or on Runicks, if AFD is compatible with them, which I don't necessarily think so. But yeah I think she's just kinda waiting to be a core component of being broken again, and Destrudo could just be hit as a collateral one day

Not sure how but a Junk synchro deck won a decently big tournament in Japan. It means nothing since I don't think this was a heavy hitter tournament but it's still at minimum a regional level tournament.

Not quite sure how powerful that turn 1 is though. It doesn't run things like Quasar or its versions (keep in mind this is before the release of the one I posted about where it's a blanket effect negation that can't be stopped)

Omega and Trishula can rip cards off hand, Baronne for protection. I don't know what other cards are there though.

I actually pulled 2 of 3 Fenrirs, traded runick stuff for the theosises, and traded in about $200 worth of MTG stuff for the field spell and Zeus. I also pulled all 3 Arise-hearts from boxes/packs.

Man... Dark Magician is quickly becoming THE deck that where sometimes they draw the shit and just win off like actually good decks, and I happened to run into the 1 out of 10 times when they actually take a win.

A guy I was against with had Maxx C on turn 1, then 3, flipped Rivalry turn 2, and he had that one effect where if some shit happens then he can draw a card, if it's a trap then he can set it. It's so stupid, he fucking drew into the ONE floodgate that basically gave him the win, which was a deck devastation virus with Dark Magician on board. Like that deck is so fucking bricky, and he got to use his ENTIRE hand, and on his last turn, drew into Illusion of Chaos, which gave him 6k on board for the win.

So stupid. I went on against 2 other DM decks without jank floodgates into 2 very quick wins. The other person basically didn't get to play, and one even Maxx "C"'d into a 3 draw.

Silver has been ruined by DM, and Maxx "C" certainly does exist to make shit decks occasionally just high roll for no reason

Blue Eyes in the early meta with random Chaos MAX and I don't draw the out was the thing ruining low rank earlier on

DM is surprisingly scrappy since they usually only need one monster on the field. they actually synergize really well with tons of saccy floodgates. Its like Eldlich but bad.

Lower levels of the duelist cup have a lot of Dark Magicians.

Thinking of swapping out my copies of DRNM for Droplet. Ruler is hella powerful in this format but kind of a brick going first. I think Droplet would be more consistent. Maybe I'll hold onto the Rulers for now and see how I feel after I start running into Spright lol.

The fact that you can have the Gaia mate sitting on top of a Catapult Turtle mate base as a reference to that one famously bullshit moment from the anime is quite amusing.

First duel of the DC, I got matched up against a Synchron deck, didn't open with any handtraps or Dark Ruler No More, and I still ended up dismantling their board and winning anyways. My opponent ended turn 1 with Majestic Star Dragon and Red Supernova Dragon, but two Widow Anchor negates and a Raigeki later, they were gone.

My 60 card FrogPUNKSpright deck has been undefeated thus far in the kaiba cup at least. It's bound to lose for sure, and I came close to losing against a Live Twin Spright who took the Maxx C challenge and didn't go for the OTK cuz he messed up and locked himself to the 2s without a battle plan (I would've summoned Trouble Sunny and then locked myself but he do him I guess).

But also that guy went for a deck out not realizing I had a 20 card advantage and was gonna be impossible to deck out without a Mayakashi lvl of loop.

Also my combos are literally like 15-20 procs long sometimes with the right setup. A lot of ppl gave up before letting my finish, but I did have an IP/2 negating Sprights/PEP/Baronne with Spright Elf protecting Baronne and IP type board that's probably not going to be counterable without many Lava Golems.

Yes, though great thing about PEP is that he is actually immune to DRuler due to his immunity being continuous. But DRuler would be pretty devastating. But a 60 card deck actually does have a level of recursion. DRuler and Lava Golem/Kaiju would be pretty difficult to deal with. Sometimes it is what it is tbh.

Yeah Sprights in general are gonna cause a pretty toxic tournament because their max combo is super long and difficult or near impossible to disrupt. I'm not gonna grind on this one as usual for these terrible Duelist Cups. But I do want to win if possible when I do duel.

My plan is to stop at DLv15 on both accounts like usual, but if things get frustrating, I'll do it on just my main account because that one has less gems.

Is there a specific reason to have 2 accounts? Is one differently leveled or is it so you don't have to buy a ton of gems?

Yeah having so many easy to get recyclable negates is frustrating, especially when you can get underworld goddess'd from masquerena. Also you can't even nibiru because gigantic spright disables that. I guess I can use some of these guys in my wetlands beatdown deck, at least >_>

Playing on two accounts does mean that completing daily missions takes a bit longer than on just one account, plus I'm a permanent "stay in gold" player on both accounts because I don't have the time or patience to grind into the higher ranks. But I think the game is more fun this way. I'd much rather be doing this than playing only on one account but stressing out on the climb to diamond or to DLv20 in the DC.

Damn that's smart. I know what you mean about deck slots, I'm using all 28 I have right now. I should post my list of decks sometime, since we have none in common lol. I've surpsingly had the most success lately with a pure hand trap going second deck. Got like 6 wins in a row in platinum. Thanks for the detailed response.

Stopping at Scar-Red Supernova Dragon and Shooting Savior Star Dragon isn't exactly optimal, and I'd argue Cosmic Blazar is better than SSS simply because it yeets itself as a cost thus can escape nearly anything.

....maybe I should brush out my Synchron deck. Or just give up and get Speedroid.
