It's astounding how right after Heard changed PR firms, I started seeing tons of people (women mostly) popping up online to talk about how the backlash against her is proof of misogyny and that Depp was an abusive groomer etc etc

There's that clip going around with Heard taking notes but her pen hovering just enough to not actually be writing anything down, like a videogame npc in the background, her lawyer looking at it going "wtf is she doing?". Yeah she's a narcissist and putting on a show. To hell with her fake performance, fake defense, fake support.

it's kind of hilarious how much support heard has on specific newspaper websites, elon must really be pumping money into them

Man, I just stumbled across the other side of supporters of this case and it's like an bizarro alternate earth. Like some of the things people were saying was just made up? And tons of misogyny accusations being thrown around. I try to keep a non-biased view and I'll admit this topic has been the source of 95% of my info on the trial, but it did make me stop and wonder if maybe this topic is way more one sided than things actually are. But idk. I guess we'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Rottenborn had a good opening to his closing statement but it's not just one of those things, it's ALL of them. And he continued projecting Amber's evil onto Johnny; SHE tried to humiliate him globally. After he said that, he lost me. His entire spiel was gaslighting and victim-blaming. He should be ashamed of himself. He thinks the jury should award her money because he didn't prove that he didn't abuse her? And THEN he presented his falsified evidence? WTF? (Why didn't Depp's team object? They had to have seen it was faked by now. The fact that they presented texts sent TO Johnny as his own proves Amber's defamation beyond any doubt. The video of Johnny's conniption actually helps him because he didn't hurt Amber. It was HILARIOUS how Rottenborn brought up Johnny's payroll when Amber's paying her "experts" too!) I legit could not wait for Rottenborn to finish. He kept saying every little thing was abusive and that breaking glass in Amber's line of sight is abusive... LOL. Human anger is not abuse. That would make everyone abusive at one point. This corroborates that Amber wanted Johnny to be as perfect as she is.

Camille was the best by FAR at these. She was warm and engaging, made a lot of good points, and kept it concise. Ben Chew was ineffectual until the end of his. Rottenborn was a total scumbag and went on for way too long. Elaine................................... let's just say there were a lot of reaches there.

I would be surprised if the jury deliberations aren't over tomorrow. I hope the jury sends a message against domestic abuse and orders Amber to pay up, because all of the victim-blaming and projecting - including from her henchmen - is ludicrous levels of gaslighting. Because he's the one who actually owned up to mistakes, Johnny needs to get his divorce settlement back at minimum but I hope they award it all. It's so blatantly a hoax and Elaine and Rottenborn are complicit.

I will watch Camille's rebuttal in the morning while the deliberation continues.

i've watched parts of the trial and i had no major issues with the way biscuit portrayed them. i had my problems with biscuit's kyle rittenhouse trial topic but this one has been fine imo.

There's been so much talk about how "no victim of dv or sv is perfect" when at every turn she's been trying to portray being the perfect victim to garner sympathy from real victims. Its disgusting. This trial has been labeled as the downfall of metoo or a rollback on womens rights, but I argue it should be seen how a serial narcissist was exposed for grifting off the suffrage of others.

Thats why its so hard for me to take her supporters and certain columnists seriously because the grift here is real and they've either been taken for a ride or they are the ones driving this clownshow. Either way supporting this monster has caused more harm than they would care to admit. Like set better standards for your message and drop toxic spokespersons. Thats absolutely fine, its much easier to recover, but not so much when you help the problem.

I came into this not having a side and I am firmly with Johnny here. The trial has made it clear.

Like I said, Amber is great at coming up with improvisational bullshit but she can't sell it and gets caught it lies easily because. She's trying to present herself as a perfect little girl and it's not working. She's doing a lot of harm to real victims (including Johnny) by portraying herself as one. Her counter-claim has cost her - there's no money for her to recoup. Those statements didn't mean a thing to her career. Her distortions are real.

Rottenborn also falsified evidence saying messages sent to Johnny were written by him in an attempt to destroy his character, an action which proves defamation by itself. She also admitted guilt on the stand so anyone who still supports her is delusional. I've been blocking people who support her for a while now. If you support an abuser, you are one too.

And it's ridiculous to say every little tantrum Johnny had was "abuse." Johnny has admitted he's not perfect. Why is he expected to be perfect? Amber did not have reasonable expectations. To coerce someone to be "perfect" and never have human emotion is abuse.

The media has, predictably, went to Amber's aid for the most part here, which is why Amber's team fought so hard for this to not be broadcast. Ultimately, we can see with our own eyes now how things went between the both of them, but then the media would have to admit that they were woefully wrong with all of this. Which, you know, that's FINE. That's completely okay. So many people have said they were wrong about it. But the media just doesn't want to say they were wrong about it. There's a way to do so tastefully there that nobody would be too hard on them for it--even me.

But instead we have this double down, and then all of these April/May 2022 Twitter accounts defending Amber, along with being told that she's just not a "perfect victim" or that even if she's not telling the truth, we shouldn't be so mean to her, among other things. Nah, fuck her. I had just how BAD things were leading up to this trial, which is why I was interested to see how this played out. I heard some of these damning clips, these multiple insane stories, among other things that seemed like it would blow Amber's case apart and they did.

This is just offensive to any real survivors. You don't have any of them defending her because they know what it's actually like. They see and hear Amber and they don't see themselves, they see their abuser. It's all gross and disgusting, especially since Amber portrays herself as BETTER than any actual survivors because she could fight back against her abuser sometimes, and she could say mean things to her abuser, and she's able to do what they weren't able to do.

The fact that the media has doubled down on defending Amber after this is disheartening, especially when there's male victims out there that could really use more support too, rather than seeing the media tell them that it's ridiculous that Depp could be considered the victim in this.

I wrote these summaries because I knew how the media would be about it. I wanted to give a clearer picture of it all, even past the memes and stuff. I never said it before, but anyone who thanked me, you're welcome for it. We're likely to get a verdict today and honestly the worst case scenario to expect is that Johnny doesn't get anything from this, but I think we're at better odds than this. And I hope for Johnny's sake he does win to send a message to people who fake these kind of allegations and for actual victims to have a voice. And I'd like him to get his reputation back, because that's important no matter if you're rich and famous or not.

Sure. There can be a delay about anything though.

However, the jury had a question today that makes me optimistic. They asked about the headline statement and whether or not it pertained to the entire article or just the headline. It was just the headline, obviously. But it seems like they asked that question because they're all on Johnny's side of things and want to make sure they apply the law right. Ben Chew was pretty excited that was the question asked, and this is probably Johnny's strongest claim, as it was about the sexual abuse that clearly never happened.

This also makes it seem like they're getting close to finalizing their decision if they're getting to the actual counts now.

Actual abuse survivors have supported Johnny. The media is showing that it's condemning anyone who speaks up against an abuser and challenges them. It's condemning the #MeToo movement. Johnny is a victim who is being beaten down for stepping forward. Abuse victims see this. They see Johnny as being treated the same way as they were. This is why I believe people when they come forward... unless they're Amber and show off a restraining order directly to TMZ.

I have been getting a lot about this trial in my Google feed but if there's something that outright supports Amber, I turn off the source.

So Biscuit, in addition to doing the write-ups, thank you for being impartial and truthful. The media's lies need to be exposed. THEY are complicit in setting our culture backward, simply because they can't imagine the woman being the abuser.

Also, fuck Rottenborn for telling the jury to "send a message" and then lying about what the message is. The message he says he wants to send would mean Amber is guilty. Give victims a voice. Give Johnny the money.

Meanwhile, I remember a dentist removing all of her ex-husband/boyfriend's(don't remember) teeth, and some people in this board making jokes like: "I got 99 problems, and 32 of them are my missing teeth", and I thought: "What the hell? They wouldn't be joking if the genders were reversed. It would be seen as the messed up shit it is."

During the question roundtable from the jury, Chew mentioned his Motion he filed with the court that the Judge said she wasn't considering until after the judgment was made.

Basically, he's arguing improper argument from Rottenborn for implying that if the jury didn't side with Amber, they were setting a bad precedent for victims of abuse everywhere by saying all of their evidence isn't proof enough. Here is a part of the transcript in question. Completely fair motion for Chew to make since they're supposed to argue the facts and Rottenborn wanted them to disregard the facts of the case and go with what "message" it sends.

One analyst on the channel I'm listening to said she knows Amber's lying because she's talking in present tense as if making up the story on the spot, while Kate Moss testified using past tense as if recollecting something that had happened to her. That... was a VERY insightful comment. I didn't notice, but it makes sense now. That's why Amber can't sell it: She's clearly storytelling, making things up on the spot. I mean, I do that when I'm recounting, but it's authentic.

Rottenborn lying about the message being sent is ridiculous and that's why he's such a slimeball. If the jury DOES side with Amber, they're setting a bad precedent for victims of abuse. Almost everything Rottenborn said was by proxy of Amber, in all her wrongfulness. Everything he said was in reverse.

Shocked at no verdict today. Probably tomorrow. They have a lot of things to go through but I hope they stand with justice and give Amber her due recompense. It's time she pay for all her lies, for all her abuse, for all her hypocrisy.

Also the case lasted a long time so if they are reviewing the facts it is going to take some time.

I'm not terribly shocked, but this is very different than a criminal trial where the stakes are so much more enormous, so a long deliberation isn't as common.

Also this is 6 weeks. I feel like they have their minds made up enough at some point in these 6 weeks that it feels strange they're taking so long. I'd be shocked if it lasted past lunch tomorrow.

Like it seems like an easy decision on the outside, but juries are gonna jury. Hard to know what they're even talking about right now.

It's more complicated than a criminal case though, in that they have a nonbinary decision to make. It's not just guilty or not guilty, they have to set the amount of damages as well.

There's also the fact that the jury instructions are in Legalese and require quite a bit of translation. It's odd that they didn't know what they were supposed to look for from the start tbh.

But because of that, they may have to reframe some of their thinking. And then they have to set the amount that Amber has to pay as well.

Honestly, I've been getting the vibe that this goes Heard's way.

There is quite literally no basis for anything you said here. Not all civil and criminal cases are the same and they all vary in how complicated they can be.

Additionally, the damages are a thing very unique. Most civil courts don't ask juries to do this because, frankly, they don't usually have a concept on how it should be calculated anyway. Especially with these number values.

What makes you say that? This jury seems to hate her from all the lies she's told under oath and all the victim-blaming she's done to Johnny. The "sexual violence" aspect is important, too. And Johnny very blatantly never sexually abused her.

He's still unquestionably difficult to live with, but part of it was that she expected absolute perfection due to her distorted desires. She perceived "abuse" that wasn't actually there.

Yeah, no way Amber won her claim. Waldman is NOT Johnny Depp, so to sue Johnny and not Waldman is pretty hysterical. Johnny's team proved that there was no correlation between the Waldman statements and the negative press covfefe. Amber acting like she was sent death threats over those is ludicrous at this point.

The "sexual violence" headline question was instrumental, because they discerned that Johnny did not sexually abuse Amber. There's literally zero evidence of such. Any "abuse" he perpetrated was emotional/psychological, and I think it stems from Amber's victim/hero complex mixed with Johnny being naturally difficult to live with.

Amber's op-ed blatantly caused a shift in Johnny's career into the doldrums, and she admitted she did so with malice under oath. Amber caught herself in too many lies and that's why, from my impartial stance, she made her guilt clear. That and the counter-claim was an absurd idea to begin with.

So what exactly happens now? They jury is called back to fill in the damages?

I hadn't really watched the trial, but given what I was hearing about it, this verdict isn't surprising me.
