But like...in his brief appearance he very flatly deflected all of Tucker's talking points and bait meant to cause more drama. I think the point is that he has been rather toxic about how men must be "manly" and how nobody should dare express themself in such a way. It's more projection.

Let's put it this way: the problem isn't hypocrisy. It doesn't matter that his actions contradict his views. The only problem is that his views are repugnant in the first place.

Eh, to be fair, the hypocrisy DOES matter, because it shows his views aren't even genuine.

Im not even sure it means his views arent genuine, hes just able to justify his action within his views. the thing he has a problem with is being gay or trans or whatever (I dont know offhand what specifically his deal is).
Since hes just a straight dude, its ok for him to wear ladies underwear because hes not serious about it.

That's fair.

I think my stance is moreso that we shouldn't be handwaving his stance, his views, and his actions as "just some symptom." So, yes, while I get why the initial tweet from Occupy Democrats was problematic, and I get the view there, I don't want to go too far in the opposite direction. People like Cawthorn aren't just a symptom, they directly feed into the cause, intentionally so, and thus should still be seen as problems.

Going back to 2002, the third party voters have broken overwhelmingly against the FN/RN every time. I think Le Pen needed a sizable first place finish in round 1 to have a real chance.
