i don't think there's a single major leftist politician i haven't criticized at some point in this topic series, really.

I think that job actually suits Trump well. The House is supposed to be the populist house of Congress.

However, if Trump gets elected President in 2024 he should lay down his speakership. I'm actually surprised the framers didn't include a clause in the constitution against one person holding multiple high offices of state, because that is how the Roman Republic collapsed into one-person rule.

I will make this brief, and when I say "make this brief", I mean I wrote with pen and paper for forty minutes venting thoughts about it first, then spent half an hour typing a revised and condensed version, and now I'm chopping it down to size in a more whimsical way. I just had to get all that out of my system so I could get it into fewer words.

Half* the country wanted to lock him in a cage for the next 70 or so years until he died, without any hope of release. And they said so publicly. Completely understandable if he isn't in a huge rush to be friends with them and is friendly with the people who have supported him.

Even when I considered myself a Republican, I didn't like Glenn Beck. Then again, I guess I was probably more left-leaning than I realized, and it wasn't until my social circle (which was mostly conservative) started saying things I found truly abhorrent that I went full Democrat.

Rittenhouse isn't really doing himself any favors by keeping himself in the limelight here. People would've moved on to the next news cycle by now if he'd kept a low profile. Instead, he's drawing more attention and going for the full grift. A lot of right-wingers take that approach, I've noticed. Gotta take your 15 minutes of fame however you can get them, I guess.
