This game must be giga popular because this download is so freaking slow. It's 12 GB and gonna end up taking like 6 hours. I can download the same size game on steam in like 10 minutes.

EDIT:Ugh it's going slower and slower the further it gets. It's finally over 50% and it's going at less than half the speed it did at the start.

Holy shit wtf. So the download kept getting slower and slower and I looked it up. Pausing and restarting the download basically randomizes the download speed. It was going at 0.33 MB/s and after pausing and unpausing it a few times I had different speeds each time. The last time I did it, it went up to 4 MB/s and will now finish in 18 minutes instead of 4 hours. Wtf?!?

I'm guessing each time you do it, it reassigns you to a random download server and some fill up but for whatever insane reason, it won't shift people automatically to servers with less load. Haven't seen that level of incompetence in a while.

Titles are generally descriptive. When you hear Jurassic Park, what do you assume it's about? How about The Invisible Man? Or what about The Time Machine?

Nor are those all that different from Western titles. For instance, you have Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Incredible Journey, Long Day's Journey into Night, etc, all of which are famous titles (well, maybe not so much The Incredible Journey).

No I'm telling you, on pc if you just pause and restart genshin impact download it puts you on a random download server. If you find an empty one, you get over 5 MB/S and the whole thing takes like 20 minutes.

Anyway it seems I DO tolerate the game ok. The fact that I can handle genshin impact, PSO2 and persona 5 makes me think frame rate really might be my issue with anime. If only anime was all in 60 fps. Then again I couldn't handle the story cutscenes of PSO2. Hm...

Well whatever. The game is really fun so far. With some of the free stuff I pulled Diluc (fire greatsword), barbara (water tome), and the lightning archer chick. Diluc is 5* and feels pretty damn strong. Super strong elemental burst and his skill is a triple cast that interrupts his actions and has like a 6 second cd but it seems the cd starts at cast one. It's basically riven Q from league and I'm all about it. His charge skill is also just an obscene amount of powerful slashes finishing with a double damage knockback and you can really rip through HP with it.

Then lightning archer has a summon skill so you can just swap to her, pop it, and then swap back, and barbara is broken OP because she has a really strong healing buff skill so I can ignore food and healing entirely because I can regen to full every 15 seconds. Then her burst just full heals the whole team. Not sure how good various combos are, but I feel like I stumbled onto a broken team. Also easy access to overload which seems like one of the best reactions. If I can turn main girl into ice at some point I think that's ideal set up.

Technically it's the city that's half underwater (and so far all of the humans have stayed out of the water). In general, "Under the water" is an awkward phrasing. Plus the pluralized form of "fish" is generally just "fish."

And it's not really the same as Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park indirectly references the idea that dinosaurs are the park. If you were to make the two comparable, you'd probably go with something like Panic at the Dinosaur Zoo (which would be a cool title, but it lacks finesse). Just going with something like Mutated Fishes in the Flooded City would sound better and be more clearly descriptive, and just Mutated Fishes by itself would work fine, even if it sounds a bit generic. And, honestly, the literal translation of "Deepwater Frontline" is weird, but it's not terrible.

diluc is arguably the 2nd best character in the game (venti is stupid), and fischl is easily the best 4* in the game, congrats

you get barbara for free at rank 20 or so, but this just means you get the first constellation bonus then instead

she's good but you won't use her for a lot of content because that much healing is overkill, and things later on often involve timers

I started reading Doku Mushi -- a manga about a group who wake up to find themselves trapped in a school without any food, but there's a meat cleaver and hotpot (or something) on plastic leading them to think that whoever trapped them wants them to kill and eat each other -- and the third chapter starts with a trigger warning. This is a series that seems to focus on murder and cannibalism, yet there's a trigger warning? >_>

Granted, it's about a different kind of violence, but considering the sick shit they suggest is going to happen...

i finally got enough for two 10 pulls in genshin, and i got two characters!!!!!!

they were the same character. a 4* xiangling. a spear/pyro user. her r2 is to summon what the game calls a panda (it's more like a obese tanooki, it's not a panda at all) which creates a fire aoe.

SHE HAS A BELL IN HER WAIST RIBBON THING THAT JUST CONSTANTLY MAKES IRRITATING DINGALING NOISES I HATE HER EVEN IF SHE DOES PLAY KINDA NEAT

xiangling is one of the best in the game and pulling multiples of her is actually pretty great

she isn't the best at pumping out tons of damage as your dedicated damage dealer, but both of her skills are so good for enabling elemental combos for quick switch skill spamming

unlocks constellations, you should see it on the character screen

xiangling's first dupe makes her pet's attacks reduce fire resistance

yeah i wouldn't bother with ice unless you had mona, chongyun, or qiqi

fire+electric is very high damage but knocks enemies back whenever it's used, water+electric is highest damage but takes like two seconds to tick fully, and hitting a frozen enemy with a claymore deals decent damage but takes too much setup to usually take advantage of unless you're chongyun

fire and electric are the best core elements to work around right now, with one wind user to lower resistances

Blargh, apparently "Status: Completed" doesn't mean that the series has necessarily reached an ending? I thought Doku Mushi was 100% done, but when I hit chapter 14, I realized there was no way it could be close to finished.

Absolutely amazing series, although the inclusion of multiple trigger warnings on a *horror* series is just fucking stupid (and one was just for a murder, wtf? It's HORROR, there's obviously going to be a chance of murder). The only thing I'm a little split on is the inclusion of the seven deadly sins trope (and the fact that the first one isn't labeled well), although I suppose it's kinda fun trying to figure out which sin is being attributed to each person, although some are kinda obvious. And while the motive is still unclear, I'm kinda conflicted by the choice to show somebody watching the proceedings since they'd kinda built up some red herrings

I'm hoping that the series itself will be continuing and it's not a matter that it was just canceled early.

...and apparently there seems to be a live-action movie that looks like it's either based on the manga or the manga is based on it (given how the cast looks) so maybe I can watch that to see what happens. Granted, there's no way a 98 minute movie could cover half this stuff.

Yeah I really wish I could round out the exploration team with venti and jean to get that resonance to move faster and use less stam. I think the ideal team for exploation is probably diluc/venti/jean/and the lightning sword 5*. Both venti and lightning stilleto chick have abilities that let you get places much more easily and you get the double wind, you can heal with jean, you have a claymore for breaking stuff and a bow for shooting stuff.

Swap out jean for a second fire user for the massive attack buff in dungeons.

I've noticed barbara is actually a bit better for diluc than I realized. Causes me to frequently vaporize enemies dealing bonus fire damage and diluc has so much pyro damage as it is. Can always have either oz or water buff up. Grouping enemies is definitely the biggest issue. Venti would be so nice.

i don't care how venti plays, i do not like archers in this game. i played as him in that one trial mission and i just hated it. it was easy, just spam fire then his special attack to suck everything into a flame vortext, but

man i did not have fun

so far my team is just MC, noelle, quiangling, and lame ice guy, because...that's all i have besides archer girl and the librarian

He is male fire riven from league of legends.

You don't actually need to fight with venti, just swap to him to ult and then swap out. It'll group everyone for your main damage dealers.

Did another 10 pull of wanderlust and got items. At least it included a 4* claymore (the one where crits drop 6 energy orbs and it also has energy regen up as a stat) so I have a weapon I don't mind upgrading for Dliuc. I'm only a few hundred primo gems from venti. I actually got ultra lucky getting diluc from the ballad banner. It means my next 5* from it WILL be venti and thats the only way to get him so I just need to keep getting IFs. Not quite sure how gaurantees work if you already beat the odds but I think I only need 70 more to force Venti. Currently adventure rank 17 with Diluc at 40 and the rest of my party at 30.

So, I do come to my normal concern when I find fun action games with overly forgiving healing mechanics. Is there any challenge in the game at all? I'm still on world level 0 and early on so I'm not really bothered by everything being pretty easy so far, but I worry it's going to have the same issues as PSO2 where all that anyone cares about is speed and theres no risk of actually failing a fight aside from running out of time. I was moderately satisfied by anemo and electro prism boss things (hypostasis or something) cause they had some difficult to deal with attacks but if they aren't oneshotting me, I'm basically immortal, and that really causes concern.

you havent tried any of the bosses that heavily encourage coop

me and a friend took on a "level 35" boss with two level 40 characters each (level 40 weapons and +4 accessories too) and it took us like 4 tries

shit hurted and even on our winning run we died multiple times, thankfully you can chug food mid combat (but only rez once every 2 minutes)

healers are literally required for later abyss levels, apparently, so it's really nice we got barbara for free (I have jean who has a decent amount of healing but not as much as barbara who is all healing)

things get noticeably harder at around adventurer rank 20, like "it's actually worth doing coop" hard

This sounds promising. Which boss was it. It seems like the main tough bosses are stormterror and wolf dominator. I watched videos and wolf guy looked pretty fun.

I've already taken out 2 of the level 35 bosses (the elemental wind and electric ones). If you don't me asking, what was the challenge mainly about? Were you getting oneshot? If not couldn't you just pause and use healing items since you can carry millions of health worth of healing? I also haven't done co-op, does that disable pausing?

Got an extra fischl so I got her first constellation. Just went through and upgraded my set up. Adv level 18 btw. Trying to hurry and get to 21 for the wolf boss. Should be at 20/90 pity towards getting venti. Anyway, my new set up is instructor 4 on fischl, soujroun 2 and martial artist 2 on diluc. The 4 instructor grants the party 120 elemental master after using skill for 12 seconds so as long as I just summon Oz on cd I'll have tons of extra mastery. Oz will also have tons of elemental mastery as well The diluc set bonuses give 18% attack and 25% attack on next basic attack after using skill. Well diluc can basically use his skill every 2 seconds so it should just be massive damage boost. I also have tons of energy recharge and the sword bonus that grants elemental charge on crit so I can throw out pheonix like every 8 seconds. I upgraded some of my 4* accessories. I really hope I get another copy of my sword so I can reduce the cd and increase the chance on elemental charge thingy. I think with it fully refined I'll be able to just spam my burst.
