I feel like one piece would be great if they were forced to cut out 90% of every arc. Still the only ongoing shonen with exploration besides like pokemon. I really wish adventure/exploration was more common.

it's not even the fights, the fights actually take like two chapters

it's all the shit that happens before the fights

like we had FIVE chapters of nothing happening but luffy just fucking running around and people seeing him in this current arc.

Eh I have read 400 chapters straight in the past month or two and I havent seen a problem with pacing except for when I tried watching the Anime instead.

Apparently the Pokemon Platinum source code leaked last week and I have been ignoring /vp/ recently due to it being between Pokemon games and the Anime being pretty meh recently.

Hopefully my theory is true and we actually do get Red/Green source code on Christmas.

this time, like 8 dudes sacrificed themselves for an intestine monster that was one shot, and then one dude gave it some blood and the hand appeared

it bothers me that of all things, this makes the least sense

CSM has always been weirdly inconsistent with power levels, to the point where I just ignore it now. Denji is always as strong as he needs to be at any given time, and sometimes it makes sense and most of the time it doesnt.

My bigger issue with CSM (even though I LOVE it) is that it breezes past... everything...

• Theres a Russian organization that trains kids and makes them Human/Devil hybrids like Denji. Thats cool! We only get mention of it maybe twice. Once with Katana Man and Snake Girl, and again with Bomb Devil.
• We meet the FIRST Hybrid, and shes promptly killed off.
• Lovecraftian stars existed. Nope, just a one off line from Makima

I like the brisk pace, but sometimes it feels too brisk.

*Still* going through Hero? I Quit a Long Time Ago, but I'm finally nearing the end so I'll probably stop myself (or try) once I get through the current Evan Kingdom arc (also, what's up with using Evan as a villain name? Kinda weird). It got reasonably good after the first 20 or so chapters, especially since the story arcs just get kinda random like he winds up teaching a class for student heroes but, along the way to teach it, ends up caught in a war in the mermaid kingdom

Current arc feels like it's dragged on forever, but probably just because it hasn't been terribly interesting since they arrived at City O.

Blargh, the scanlation in Hero? I Quit a Long Time Ago went to shit in c191. It's borderline incomprehensible at times, in addition to a stupid number of typos. Technically I think the problems started in at least 190. I'm really hoping that it's not going to be like this for the whole arc.

Kinda wondering if it's a direct translation or some crap where they just used a dictionary and then didn't bother with an English dictionary to make the spelling and grammar was correct.

I can't look at that shit without laughing. The whole thing is ridiculously disjointed and loaded with typos. Some of it would be easily fixed if the translator had used periods to break it into sentences instead of just going with commas. However, you'd still have things like "I only have this brain left" (because he had more than one brain as a human?) and then misspelling "genius" when referring to his intellect.

...and I had wanted to stop at the end the last arc, but... after this brief event (only 2-3 chapters long), they immediately introduce Zero's great-granddaugther from the future... or, rather, a parallel future in an alternate timeline and shit is just too out there -- including references mocking the trope -- to not continue.

Oh, and the scanlation was just really bad for maybe 2 chapters. EDIT: Spoke too soon. 194 is getting a little bad, although it's not quite as bad as 191

Yo fuck doctors saying the one antibiotic i tolerate isn't a good one to take for this infection when looking it up says they are completely wrong and I've lost 7 lbs and developed throat ulcers from the side effects of the others (down to 119 lbs at 6 ft). Trying that one I tolerated before now but god damn I can't afford to lose this kinda weight when I have no way to put it back on. I despise doctors on such a deep level. Probably another trip to the ER for me if this last one doesn't work. I don't want to die.

She hasnt played Mad Monster mansion yet has she? I would love to see her fail at that one, she tries so hard even though she isnt very good. I remember her seeing her in Treasure Trove Cove Fighting a clam on her last honeycomb but there was a beehive about 15-20 meters away from her....but dont get me wrong, it was hilarious hearing her scream at the clam to stop stealing her items XD

I have MCAS. Virtually everything gives me a dangerous allergic reaction. The only food I can eat more than like 0.1 ounces of is brown rice and bananas hence the 96 lbs lost in the last year and a half and current 16 BMI (13 is considered fatal so basically if I lose 20 more lbs I die and I can lose up to 2 lbs a day and can't put any weight back on). The normal things they do when you lose that weight they can't do because of the MCAS (I've tried them and almost died).

That all said, MCAS is treatable, but it takes a while to work out a medicine regimen that works so if it didn't take fucking 13 months to see the specialist who just ordered a special urine test that anyone SHOULD be able to do but won't, I could have been dealing with that a year ago when I still had weight to lose. Now it's all super tough because I'm ultra malnourished and I have an infection. If I'm real lucky, this 3rd anitbiotic will work and I won't react to it, I'll lose maybe 1 more pound while I'm cured, then I'll be able to try MCAS medicines and they will work and I'll be able to eat enough to gain weight and everything will be fine...except all my other problems like my spine ligaments being deformed causing spinal cord and brainstem damage. But hey, thats less immediately dangerous than starving to death so it'd be huge to just be able to eat food again. I've had brown rice over 2000 times since I got sick since I eat it 6 times a day. I'm so fucking sick of it.

All that just makes me extra frustrated that this doctor fucked up and cost me 7 lbs. I'm so close to getting better overall maybe but I could just die from this shitty throat infection.

the longest vtuber video i've ever seen translated were a few 1h~ long ones

unfortunately if you want to actually get consistent understanding of what the vtuber says without learning the language, you either have to catch them doing english-only streams or pick a vtuber like pikamee or coco that's fluent and has enough of an english fanbase for them to often speak english

Reached the end of the scanlation for Hero? IQALTO. Things in the parallel future universe have culminated in a 4-on-4 match between his celestial swords from his reality and their parallel counterparts. It's a fucking goofy fight that's going to pad out an already kinda goofy arc. Kinda wondering how the series will go more off the rails after this arc finishes.

Even though it seems like the arc is nearing its conclusion, it kinda feels like it may go for another 40 chapters (or more, if parallel Evan does a heel turn)

Oh, and apparently it has an OVA (?) on the way, but it got postponed by COVID. It looks... well, somewhat better than expected. If I wasn't already invested in the series, I probably wouldn't give it a second glance, though.

the girl who keeps tripping, kobeni, used to be a "co-worker" with him, and is, for better or for worse, denji's friend and ally.

she quit being a demon hunter because, well, she doesn't have the constitution for it, and gets scared easily. until she has to kick ass, then she just changes. we'll probably get an explanation for her ability soon now.

the reason why he keeps killing everyone else, is who knows. the only thing they have in common is they keep deviating from the script.

Yeah and while it was interesting at first, but then I slowly realized the battles were the equivalent of a kid bashing two action figures together, plus their signature move every once in a while.

Ehhhhhhh.... ugh, apparently Love Tyrant's final chapters were scanlated earlier this year (not sure when I last looked for them?). However, Makakalot directs me to Mangelo and the epilogue chapter isn't scanlated right since half of the fucking thing is in Romaji (which some redditors assumed was an April Fools joke that would be fixed down the road... but, if it has, the manga sites don't have the right version)

At any rate, the ending was pretty abrupt although I liked that it's one of those super-rare harem manga where the protagonist actually ends up with his harem instead of just one girl. They kinda set the angle up before that with Yuzuru and Akane's dad being found -- apparently he was kidnapped by Guri's mom to design an alternate world -- and then Yuzuru's and Akane's moms both wind up with the dad. The only thing that didn't wind up happening, for whatever reason, was Shikimi officially joining the harem (via the contract) so she was left out of the love confession... and then after all that they have a sports day.

The epilogue seems to involve Akane, Yuzuru, and Guri picking out wedding dresses for their marriage to Seiji, which is weird because I'm 90% sure that bigamy is illegal in Japan.

Was referring to the "anyone going to tell you" aspect, since I saw a MH topic but not a RF5 topic. I didn't watch any direct unless somebody directs my attention to something worthwhile in the direct.
