I doubt it'll be Luna though.

KH has been on such a hiatus though that they might be desperate to plug Lightning into a main game since the mainline series skipped the entire PS3 generation so who knows

In Yu Yu Hakusho, we're introduced to the House of Four Dimensions, where the power of thought and speech is greater than physical ability, at least in this first section with Kaito. It reminds me a lot of Persona 4: Dancing All Night, because one of the restrictions on that world there was "no one hurts and no one gets hurt," and there's a prohibition against violence here. Kurama continues to be excellent though and saves the day. It's a shame we didn't get to see the face that made Kaito laugh and lose the game. I'm already having a good feeling about this season though. It's got a lot of potential.

Looks like we've reached the end of season 1 in Fate/Zero. It was nice to have a semi-Rider-centric episode because it gave them a chance to develop his relationship with Waver. I figured the fight itself against Caster's giant monster would be the season finale, but I guess they wanted to end on a cliffhanger! Seems like everyone's going to team up to take him down, so it should be fun!

I've been thinking for a while now that I need to get rid of some of my old games that I'll probably never play again.

Maybe I'll let you guys have first dibs since you have been faithful and longsuffering since the departure of user Jeff Zero.

I think about that once in a while, but video game stuff is really the only thing I keep when it gets "old". It's the one thing I kind of collect.

And I buy so much of my stuff digitally these days I haven't really been accumulating new games as fast.

Yeah, I've still got my old SNES games even though my SNES hasn't been playable for years (not because of the system, but because of the controllers). My N64 and Wii have been put away for years and I've still got all those old games.

I'm kind of a pack rat by nature though, but I'm just running out of space to put new games because I still prefer to buy physical copies.

Yeah I have all my old systems boxed up. Only have a PS4, Wii U and Switch actually hooked up, and really the Wii U should be put away at this point. I still have 360/PS2 physical games on my bookshelf, though, which really should be boxed up as well considering I can't actually use them without digging out the consoles.

I've got my PS4, Switch, fat PS3, and SNES Classic. Everything else is put away. I can hold on to my old PS1 and PS2 games since I've got the fat PS3.

I think the only reason I have that stuff still on the shelf is because I don't actually think I'd have room for any more boxes if I boxed it up. Our apartment is out of space.

X is amazing.

It's more focused on sidequests and exploring than story. It has its fair share of issues, but it's just such a joy to play. You might say it's to Xenoblade as BotW is to Skyward Sword.

Jeff Zero is also a big Skyward Sword fan, so he probably would not be offended by that comparison.

Although part of the problem is that you expect zero story in Zelda, and you don't want zero story in a Xeno game.

In Yu Yu Hakusho, Botan and Kuwabara have an infomercial advertising another one of the Spirit Detective tools, and Yusuke has to spot an impostor in their midst. There wasn't any real logic behind his guess, but hey, it worked! I guessed wrong, but that's nothing new! I'm bad at this sort of stuff, but it's still really fun. Shame it's already over, but it looks like it was all one big training exercise by Genkai all along.

The first two episodes of Fate/Zero were very busy! Most of the Servants team up to take out Caster's monster, although Berserker (who hijacks a friggin' fighter jet) and Archer do battle in the sky, while their masters battle it out on the ground in a rather one-sided affair. As much as I'd like to see Kariya be able to get the best of Tohsaka (who basically turned this rivalry into Algus vs. Ramza with his speech about mages and nobility, with Kirei playing the part of Delita, I guess), I'm still not sure this is a world that rewards people like him, so I'm reluctant to get my hopes up. Also, I'm not sure what Kirei did to him after he got burned alive. Was he healing him or trying to steal command of Berserker away? It's hard to say considering Berserker started attacking Saber for no good reason around that time, although it would make sense if Kirei were in control. At the very least, I don't think that's the end of Kariya just yet.

Kiritsugu stays busy by sniping Ryuunosuke right after I finally learned his name, and he convinces Lancer to break his curse on Saber so she can use the full strength of Excalibur. Also, I'm not sure I like the fact that he's front and center in both the new OP and new ED. I dunno if I'm supposed to believe he's the primary protagonist of this story, but again, I'm not sure this is a world where the hero wins. I might be grateful for that fact if Kiritsugu is supposed to be the "hero." Still, I'm not sure anyone I'd like to win can win at this point, so I may not be happy with this by the end, although I am kinda low-key rooting for Kirei.

F/Z doesn't really have a main character (which is why I thought you might like the show anyway despite not thinking you'd like Kiritsugu very much), but Kiritsugu is the mainest (kinda like Celes in FF6 I guess)

Hmm...I think I'm hitting one of those funks where I don't really feel like playing video games, which happens once in a while. I still need to finish up Odyssey, but I haven't been in the mood lately. The last few weeks have been pretty busy though, and I've been giving a lot of my free time away to watching anime instead.

although I guess I'll have some more free time once SMFFFC ends in a couple of weeks so that'll be nice

sometimes I wish I weren't so obsessive when it comes to contests I run and I could just let the rounds run wild and come what may so I wouldn't feel the need to sit at my computer and make sure everything runs smoothly

Jeff nope'd out when reports came out that it focused more on exploration than story from both pre-release info and early Japanese impressions.

he has refused to listen when i've insisted it's actually a great game and while i have issues with the story side of things it's different than what those complaints were and i think it's actually all right/superior to xenoblade on that front

or rather he mostly just hasn't been around. the very few times he has both been around and the topic has come up though i think he's brushed off my talk about it though.
