i got the collection on PS3 because it was on sale. i lost interest incredibly quickly when i finally got around to playing them. maybe i would actually have been into it if i got into it when i was younger. i've gotten way more impatient as i've gotten older.

I've always been meaning to get into the platformer successor series of Crash and Spyro anyway, but it's taking me a while to get around to it!

I finished Toradora! last night so here are my final thoughts on it. I'll try to keep them vague and spoiler tag anything major but people who haven't seen it still probably shouldn't read this.

It was good the whole way through, but the second half of the show wasn't as good. Maybe I'm just slow but it became difficult to keep up with all of the characters. Everyone had a way they were acting but their true feelings were also shining through in small moments and they all had secrets, for every permutation of character relationships. I think I understood everything but it felt convoluted at times, especially since a lot of plotlines in the second half were 'this character is acting strangely, what's the reason and how does everyone react?' and there was always a lot to sort through. Also, for how hyped I was to see them together, Taiga/Ryuji wasn't especially satisfying. They overcame every obstacle... and then she ran away for a year. I get why she did it but it still killed the momentum a bit for me.

Best moments: Ami/Taiga Christmas song, Taiga's election posters with her posing like an evil dictator, Taiga/Ryuji kiss, awww.

Anyway, it was still a good anime! I'm ranking it towards the bottom here but that's mostly a reflection of how few animes I've seen. I haven't finished Sankarea yet but it'd have to improve immensely in its last four episodes to pass Toradora and I don't want to repost this ranking every two days so I'm putting it in now. I hope Sankarea will eventually become my baseline for 'slightly below average'. Everything above it is varying levels of good to great.

Ace Attorney and anything will work though because there's limitless potential with cases. I've had this fanfiction idea bouncing around in my head for years about a MGS case where Phoenix defends Snake, but I've never really gotten it out of my head.

I didn't think I would find my own anime counterpart so quickly but Tomoko Kuroki is a gender-swapped Japanese clone of myself. At times it was like looking into a mirror of what I was like in High School except it's actually entertaining.

I was just thinking the other day that Haruhi's movie was such a high point that it would be hard for any anime to top it, but WataMote managed it by being such high quality and resonating with me so strongly. I have a new favorite.

I might even need to look into the manga since it seems the anime didn't do well enough to get very far into it. I'll have to think about that though, I've never even read a manga before.

In Fate/Zero, Caster gets away, as does Kayneth, albeit barely. Kirei almost takes out Irisviel and Maiya, too, but apparently Saber's Noble Phantasm allows Wolverine-like healing when she's nearby. Kayneth has a dream about Lancer's past, and then he gets his Command Seals hijacked by his wife/wife-to-be. Tough break. Rider and Waver try to hunt down Caster, but they get ambushed by Assassins instead.

If I had to rank victory odds through nine episodes, I'd probably go something like...

Saber > Archer > Assassin >> Berserker > Rider > Lancer >> Caster

Kiritsugu says he'd wish to save the world if he got the Grail, but he hasn't actually specified what it means to him to save the world, so who knows. I feel like everything is building up to him winning, and I'm still not totally happy about it. Archer will be one of the last ones standing one way or the other, I think, so that gives him a chance. Assassin's creeping up the rankings since seeds of doubt about Tohsaka have been planted in Kirei's head and he may eventually betray him. Everyone else is a long shot to win, except for Caster, who has no shot.

Eh, I'm not really going by that. Unless something drastically changes, Waver is a "boring" winner. It'd almost be an anticlimax for him to win considering what his wish is, although Rider is telling him to dream bigger. This is all based on plot considerations.

I have a friend who thinks 4 is overall great and more or less dislikes 5 which I'd pretty opposite what I've heard here.

I'd say his tastes align more often with mine than most but not really enough to predict how this will turn out. He doesn't even like FF after all!
