So in your opinion, "good writing" is shoehorning a character into the game for literally no reason other than to establish that they're not a different character who is not demonstrated in the game itself to BE that character and was only briefly considered as such during the early stages of development?

you are coming dangerously close to realizing that a lot of criticism leveled at chrono cross' plot is that people want to see all their 16 bit best friends from chrono trigger in another game (where nothing bad ever happens to them because anything less than a perfect happy ending is "shitting all over it")

i saw this movie for the first time last week and the two things thhat stood out to me were the hilariously bad soundtrack that has elektra hitting a speed bag while wake me up inside plays, and that scene. it came off as mega creepy and i cant imagine it feeling different even in its time

they probably served a purpose at some point but they've been getting increasingly irrelevant and cringier for years

both are really annoying and the argument is almost invariably pointless, but the people complaining about the presence of diversity are always way more obnoxious and stupid

dont really like (most) celeb podcasts so these might not resonate with you

podcast about list- three guys make jokes and generally talk about weird/funny shit. very conversational. for the last half of the podcast they usually pull up a weird list found on the internet and read it and the comments on it

we hate movies- A bad movie podcast. men watch funny movie make joke ha ha. There are a million of these but i generally find these guys to have better production value and jokes than the majority of them

Blowback- A political podcast that looks at the events leading up to, during, and in the waning years of the Iraq War. It's got a pretty wry sense of humor but is also very straightforward and often depressing. The second season focuses on the history of the Cuban revolution and America's bungling around with relations to the country, but I haven't listened to it yet so I can't vouch for it.

Qanon Anonymous- Examination of Qanon craziness and, slowly as the movement gets more confused and diluted, other conspiracy theories. A lot of talk about fringe wackiness but the hosts try to give at least some aspects of levity to it generally. They have pretty good access to high quality guests for interviews, and a lot of episodes have really funny skits or writing at the end

The Dollop- Two comedians go over a story from (usually) American history, with one reading the writeup and the other who has little or no clue about the subject reacting to it. Sometimes what they cover is big well known subjects, but a lot of it are obscure tales about crazy people doing crazy things.

Those Good Old Fashion Values- This started as a podcast where a group would watch a season of family guy and then give an overview of it while covering a handful of interesting episodes, but it slowly grew into other stuff as family guy started to drive the hosts insane. They cover other shows now, usually with pretty fun guests, and have a secondary show called Get Cynical that covers early e-celebs and their inevitable self destruction

Not Another Dungeons and Dragons Podcast- Like WHM there are a million of these but NADDPOD is entertaining. It's a mostly-normal dungeons and dragons campaign, but the group playing it are super raunchy and very irreverent. It has a lot of jokes but it's also entertaining to see how into the story they get as it progresses to the point where they can't help but start taking some plot threads seriously.

theres not anywhere near as much as there was bat tank, give me a break. those are like 10+ minute vehicle segments compared to 30 seconds to a minute of platforming now and then between fights in eternal

the dlc isnt as hard as people make it out to be, at least the first its the only one ive played. its definite tougher than the base game but its mainly by virtue of having longer fights and bigger arenas. if you like the fighting in the base game its definitely worth it

Kind of sad if they're honestly just doing a slight touchup instead of the remake, considering the remake was basically done.

either way its nice people get to play goldeneye on a controller that doesnt suck without having to emulate finally. if they can do that and fix the framerate it would be perfect

dusk is the best fps new blood has made in my opinion. ultrakill is fun but its a very different sort of game

salt and sanctuary has such bad art direction that its actually detrimental to playing it. everything is too dark and muddy and makes it way too hard to see traps, pits, paths up and down etc

A lot of the best times people remember fondly about wwe are really hard to watch in modern times. The late 90s in particular is an absolutely terrible midcard scene that was getting propelled almost entirely by Rock and Austin always having great programs. WCW was generally putting on better shows all through the 90s up until 99 or so

shane McMahon was always bad and the only thing he was ever good at doing was falling off of things without managing to die

a lot of old dudes that wrestling fans like to repeat stuff from for retro cred like Jim Cornette, Eric bischoff and Bruce Prichard are really bitter and more often than not have been out of touch for a long time

Its a really cool port that trades some optional content for others, but I dunno about the best: worse sound and fmv visual quality too

I never saw one of those unmarked vans doing deliveries until late last year when I was getting some books delivered. A random van pulled into my yard and a guy got out and yea I was immediately confused and suspcious until I saw they were carrying a package

what I did not do was jump in a vehicle and start playing grand theft auto multiplayer with the deliver man because I am not a water brained psycho

xenoblade 1 has some of the most bloodcurdlingly anime writing ive ever seen in my life and people think its super serious because everyone delivers it in funny accents
