Ok, if that's the case then there's really no problem at all.

I don't watch much basketball, and of what I've seen (NBA and college), the coach always seemed to be in a full suit, which I always thought was pretty overkill for their job.

The bridge itself doesn't bother me as much as the complete lack of a "run way" at the bottom. seems to not even have much of a straight away and goes immediately into urban area. Would be fucking terrifying going down that steep incline if my brakes locked up or had any issues.

I used to go for the $500-$800 price point, it seemed like a good middle ground for quality w/o paying top dollar for the absolute best. But apparently that market has vanished for laptops in the last few years and you either go super cheap or super expensive. So I got a "gaming" laptop...

I had some AMC I bought at like 7 bucks. I sold it early on when it rose and made $350...the max I could have made was 8,000. I wish I'd have saved, but even more than keeping it to make more than the paltry $350 I did make, I hope I'd have had the sense to sell when it was around (iirc) 50 bucks. Early on when it royally fucked over the large investment firms that had massively shorted the stocks and ate gigantic losses for it*, the whole thing was hilarious. Once that happened and they saw what was going on and adjusted accordingly, holding after that just became silly and pointless.
It was very satisfying to see those leeches hiss and burn, though.

* Shorting explained briefly: they effectively "buy" stock (more like take a loan on it) expecting it to go down later such that they sell it by a pre-arranged deadline and if it hasn't gone down or in fact has gone up, they lose bigly

In general it was History. Though my favorite class specifically was Physics because the teacher was awesome.

I hated English, but it was really easy and I had some fun subverting the teacher's intentions on writing assignments.

Other than that... gym was actually enjoyable when we could do solo work and not group team games (which I hated) - in my later high school years I was able to spend most of my time in the weight room or using the school track (which worked in tandem with the fact that I was running on the track team at the time). Though I did kind of enjoy when we got to play volleyball (because I was very good at it). Ironically, I got better at sports like soccer and hockey while in college - if I'd been better at them sooner, I'd probably have enjoyed gym even more.

Like you, I'd try to use the weight room instead of whatever group sport they were doing. I also love badminton and would "duel" the gym teachers.
Basically, I only liked it in HS b/c they let you generally go do whatever the fuck you wanted as long as it was exercise. Unlike middle school...

History was always interesting, but rarely so the way it was taught in school (and it didn't help that high school classes tended to focus on US history, which I've always found incredibly boring - I find antiquity to be a much more interesting period).

Yeah. I love history, but we spent way too much time on U.S. history and so little on world history and like... pre-1700's in general. I did a lot of learning on my own. It's still genuinely fucking sad to me that I had to learn of Nicola Tesla from Command & Conquer: Red Alert and our textbooks lied to us and credited Marconi as the inventor of the radio.

I've noticed for months now, youtube specifically having all sorts of problems. Like, it'll freeze, drop quality, freeze, repeat.... All the way down to 144p sometimes...and still not load fast enough.
It's sporadic, but pretty frequent.

And it's JUST youtube, not my internet. I've run speed tests to check, I've used other sites simultaneously to compare the experience, and confirmed it was youtube itself, not my internet.

Interesting. I care more about the throttling than the quality level. 480p would be fine, hell even 360p is usually enough to read text, which is basically my threshold for video quality.

Yes. It's a definite concern for me. I treat the restaurant workers w/ respect and am very careful about my tone and wording, even if they have been very incompetent/lazy/unprofessional and raising my voice would be understandable.
Partly b/c I've worked in customer service and know how much it sucks. But also especially for food service b/c I've always known, "don't piss off the people handling your food."

Fast Food might actually be less of a concern since a lot of them, you can see the workers preparing your food from the counter. And I always make sure to watch...

If you know who's doing it, then you had the right idea. Collect the evidence and report it all to the police, file for some sort of restraining order (is there an equivalent for online harassment?), etc...

California is a community property state or whatever it's called from what I've heard, so you should basically be entitled to half of everything.

If she's not being accommodating and making sure you get a fair split of the assets, it's all the more reason to lawyer the hell up and protect yourself.

It still has to be a separate event in a cold climate (good luck selling that to your indoor athletes), and based on the rest of your comment you'll still look at it as lesser for not being attached to the Summer event.

And this is exactly my point!
While there's a few sports in The Olympics that are clearly summer-related, like baseball, swimming, and beach volleyball, those do not define the games. What the hell does wrestling, or table tennis, or (indoor) trampoline, or karate have to do specifically with summer? Nothing, and that's the whole point. It's not just some gimmick, it's an actual broad event representing all kinds of sports from across the world, and includes the legacy of the original Olympic sports.

You can't imagine the "winter games" as anything other than being winter-related w/ snow and ice. That's why I'm saying it's a gimmick.

Meanwhile The Olympics actually feels like a broad display of all kinds of sports w/o any weirdly specific theme, and includes all of the original events from the Greek games (aside from Pankration, which tragically still is not included, but if it ever is, it's going to be in the Summer).

This topic's really exposing all of the people who leave their carts out in the parking lot b/c they can't be bothered to bring it to the return area.

I really like Aldi. You can't rely on them to have everything since they seem to like letting stock totally deplete then fill the empty shelves after. And a few items I had bad experiences and don't get anymore. But it's my main stay for a lot of stuff.

They don't "charge" for them. You put a quarter in, you get it back when you return the cart. It means they don't have to pay people to go out and retrieve the carts.
And I've seen other grocery stores w/ the same scheme that are American.
They don't provide bags for free, but you can buy big plastic bags for like 10 cents or buy or bring your own reusable ones. Again, something a lot of "budget" grocers do, not just them...

Apparently *everything* is a product exclusive to them, and they don't even have normal store hours.

I thought it was like a Trader Joe's, but it's more like a Trader Ghettos. (Although apparently Aldi's owns TJ's, so... wtf)

It's really not like TJ's...

It's a no frills grocery store where they sell mostly "store brand" products and made the running of the store as ruthlessly efficient as possible. In return, you get lower prices, much faster check out lines, and the food is almost always just as good as any other off-brand version you'd find in other stores, if not better.

And yeah, they have less hours and more holiday closings than most grocery stores, b/c while they have few employees they tend to actually pay and treat them better than other grocery chains, in my experience...
