Nice. I hope the Warriors OCs aren't garbage like the last ones.

I was kinda expecting it. A BotW based sequel to Zelda Musou, so a Three Houses based Fire Emblem Musou.

Edit: Going by the trailer, we either get a nice map for the story mode, or there might be an Empires like Mode.

They did. And the demo progress is suppose to carry over to the full game.

I know no one cares about MLB, but I'm excited because I can just buy the Switch version and play my Save data on Switch and Xbox (which is getting the game on Gamepass).

I mean I thought it was mentioned as after the direct, but I am not able to find it.

Lots of stuff to like here. I don't care about ports for Portal and whatnot.
-Never heard of Front Mission, but sign me up for Mech RPG games
-Ditto on LiveALive. Looks like a cool concept.
-Switch Sports? You know, I haven't touched Wii Sports in forever, but it COULD be pretty fun.
-More Splatoon is welcome. Not sure if I care much about the new mode, but it'll be a good way to get back into the series.
-Chrono Cross remake? Hell yeah.
-48 remastered courses for MK8 for only $25? I was resisting getting MK8 deluxe on Switch, since I own the OG on Wii U, and was gonna just wait until MK9 or w/e. This makes it seem like they want to stick with MK8 for a while, so getting it is enticing to me now.
-Sweet, Triangle demo
-Neat, a date for AW
-KH games would be amazing if not for cloud needed.

Sadly, never cared for the strikers game, but it does look fun. Ditto on Kirby games. And I just don't care for Dynasty Warriors type games.

I wasn't expecting much from this, but that was a nice Direct. Saving BotW2 and possible MP4 news for E3, probably.

I'm deffinitely getting Live A Live and XC3 when those come around.

I might have to watch a little of the direct when I get home. Just to see everything coming out

Was not expecting XC3. Am very happy about XC3. I'm a little disappointed they're moving on without revisiting X, since there was very obviously an X-2 planned, but I'm also very interested in where they're going to take 1 and 2 together. A September release is super surprising, given this is the first announcement of the game, but I fully expect that to be delayed.

Was pretty impressed with that direct. Very stoked on the MK8 tracks.

Yeah, I might have to pick up MK8. I've held off on it because I've still got the WiiU version, but another 48 tracks is a pretty big deal, especially if I can arrange an optimized family plan for NSO+ (I think I might actually know 7 other people with Switches now) and get it basically for free (if we neglect the initial NSO cost). As I expected, NSO+ is going to become a better deal as they add more DLC's into it, as much as the initial offer was pretty stupid.

It goes on sale for 30% off super rarely if you're willing to go digital only. I held off for a long time, but even the small improvements are worth it (better battle mode, holding two items).

Chrono Cross getting a remaster is cool, though it didn't look very...remastered. And the soundtrack was perfect and by far the best part of the game, it did not need to be "enhanced"!

Never played a Kirby game before. The new one has looked interesting, but that "mouthful mode" looked really dumb, lol

Triangle Strategy looks great, probably one of my top games coming out this year after Bayo 3.

...And the previous statement is already outdated b/c the true GotY 2022 has arrived! Xenoblade fucking THREE! I didn't expect it this soon! Glad it got the top billing it deserved in the direct.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, but obviously super hyped for XC3, was NOT expecting that so soon. And incidentally, I could tell it was a Xenoblade game right away, but thought it actually looked more like an X-2. The art style seems closer to that than XC2 for me.

Maybe Nintendo is switching to a news drop ~8 month out style, since that's what they did with Metroid Dread as well. Nothing, and then BAM, announcement, and "oh yeah, it's coming this year."

this is a standard ps1 port by square, the game will just be upscaled, like you're running it on an emulator yourself

as for the music, generally the enhancements are just widening the sound stage so that various instruments come out clearer, nothings ever really changed much it just wont sound bitcrushed.

Honestly, I kind of like that approach better than "here's a concept, it's probably coming some time next year but maybe not because we've really just started and we don't know how production will go." It makes delays less likely, gives people less time to hype themselves up to the point of inevitable disappointment (they will anyway, but at least 6-8 months of that is easier to recover from than 2-3 years), and discourages crunch because deadlines can be based on project progress instead of pressure from the public (and shareholders) to meet the date they were promised.

This one was ~40 minutes long, and I'd expect another 20-30 minutes of Pokemon-related content. Bundling them together would have pushed the limits of people's attention, especially those that aren't really interested in Pokemon.

Indeed. Nintendo has been bearish that way for quite a while now. And as much as I want a screenshot, anything for Metroid Prime 4, it's pretty clear they are going to hold onto that tightly until they are ready.

Yeah, not really sure what there'll be. Possibly some DLC announcements, possibly announcing something new in the works... I can't say that I really follow Pokemon, but I don't know to expect much of anything from a Pokemon-specific Direct.

Hope they announce another update for New Pokemon Snap.

Eh, I'm happy to hear it exists at all, since prior to that it was uncertain where the series a was going (especially after the dreaded Other M), and if the Prime arc was truly done.

But yeah, I'm sure that backfiring made them even more bearish.
