It was a running joke their entire class. The instructor was aware and encouraged it. Some students voiced concern about it but peer pressure kept it up. So, it was not like a one off gag even at graduation.

I've learned with age that fallacious thinking lead me to believe pressure helped my work. Pressure merely motivates me to work. I'm a procrastinator by nature, but relied on faulty logic assuming that since I had performed well under pressure it meant pressure was why I succeeded. That was logic to cover up for putting things off.

I do get a rush from working under a tight deadline. I get a thrill at work when something high priority with short turnaround hits me. I do WELL under pressure, but there's basically nothing I couldn't do BETTER with more prep time -- if I can force myself to use that prep time.

There is actually a lot of scholarly research that shows this happens at a systematic level.

Like there is an entire line of research where resumes go out with with stereotypical white and black names. The resumes are exactly the same except the names. They also mix in crimal histories on them too. The results are something like a black sounding name with no crimal history gets fewer call backs than a white sounding name with a criminal history.

I traditionally liked eccentric art school girls. It never goes well though. I realized I mistook quirks and brooding for emotional depth. That is not the cae.

After the MFA girl above, I seriously dated a nurse prac. She was artsy but extremely grounded and practical. I broke up with her over preassure for kids and her slightly too practical lifestyle.

I realize now that slightly dorky, but cheerful and outgoing smart girls are my best match. Not the brooding weird artists, introverts, or practical types.

Yeah. Most recent was 3 years ago. I was 32 and she was 29. Pixie cut, MFA degress, and a published poet. She had some cool tattoos and peircings too. But she had anxiety issues.

We got to know each othet over a month or so. I asked her out and she said yes. Night before the date, she texts me a bunch and cancelled due to anxiety. I peaced out at that point, but she started talking to me again.

I we agreed to go out again. She went through with it. We had lunch and then went to a farm for a harvest festival. Left there and went for a walk and then pizza and beer. It was actually my favorite first date ever.

The night ended well and she wanted to see me again. Two nights later, she pretty much loses it and it got weird. I awkwardly phrased something and she went off on me. Then complained about it on tumblr directly quoting the exhange.

We have talked once since.

Brilliant girl but had some weird hang ups and odd personality quirks. I really liked her.

I like 3 a ton but prefer 2. The city felt more real and the hidden stuff was sweet. The world in 3 always felt less lived in and designed from the ground up just to feel like an amusement park.

Kids should know the truth if they haven't figured it out at like no later than 10.

I feel like a normal kid should be asking their parents about it by the time they are 7 or 8, if they haven't already. A parent should not lie if they get asked the question directly either.

You can always do the spirit of Christmas type thing, but explain that gifts do not just materialize because you're good -- people have to work and pay for them.

I've read all the Frank Herbert Dune books. While they are excellent, Dostoevsky and his books are, in my opinion, more complex and sophisticated.
