@SpinKirby

What killed my tomatoes last year? My plants were massive and doing great into mid-july, see my pics above.

However, I started noticing some of the lower limbs turn yellow around the same time. I figured it was lack of sunlight and I started to slow clip them off. Early September, you can see what happened. I had plants full of tomatoes that stopped maturing and dying. It did not impact my peppers.

We had a super wet July last year, and I wonder if that somehow got a fungal growth started.

I did not use any chemicals or pesticides on my stuff.

Trellis man, I had a plant get over 6 feet tall last year. I had an awesome tomato garden last year; 4 bushes, but I got hit with a blight in August. It took out my plants. See the next three pics; around mid July last year.

https://imgur.com/TRmO5GO
https://imgur.com/Jhnb35q
https://imgur.com/f4tSMAs

I planed Sungold Cherries (Hybrid; got over 6 feet tall)
Golden Jubilee (Hybrid; low acid, yellow)
Brandywine (Heirloom; giant red/pink)
West Virginia 63 (Heirloom; red slicing tomato, developed at West Virginia University)
I also had Lemond Drop, North Start, Purple Hungarian, and Big Bertha Peppers planted; Peppers did not get hit with the blight.

-----

This year, I only have two plants in the back planter. A tree got cut down, and the tree people put the wood in the planter, and never came to pick them up. So, I had very little space. Only two plants back there now, Portuguese Peppers and Golden Jubilee matos. I did the rest of my stuff on the veranda. Pic below.

https://imgur.com/b5nhbZS

WV 63 plant
Brandywine Plant
Colossus Green Pepper plant

-----

I grew plants this year from seeds I kept last year. I had around 16 small tomato plants, but they did not survive the transfer to the outside. I started all the plants you see in my pics at around 6 inches high.

This.

As a kid, college, and grad school, I was always used to having a large circle of friends and always doing things with other people. Once I started adulting, my circle of friends shrank and the few I had started families. Nobody wanted to go hit an all night diner at 3am anymore. Or take random weekend trips to the mountains or drive 5 hours away to see some indy band at a dive bar.

I still wanted to do those things, but I stopped because it seemed weird to do alone. I missed out on some great adventures in my late 20s due to this reasoning. I finally got over it in my 30s, and I'm thankful I did!

Nah

I'm 34. I go on business trips around the country 2 or 3 times a year, and I eat alone on them. No big deal.

I also travel on pleasure alone a lot. I've been to several concerts alone, stayed at multiple hotels alone, and traveled around cities and the mountains alone. I've even gone to resturants that requried reservations alone.

It seems weird at first, but you'll get over it. You can't let being alone stop you having great experiences. I've met and hung out with all kinds of people traveling on my own and had great adventures alone too.

You're presumably an adult or will be one soon. Stop caring what people think of you and go enjoy things you want to do.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploding_head_syndrome

This actually creeped me out more than sleep paralysis. Once I had sleep paralysis once or twice, I could actively recognize my episodes, and just wait for itto pass. One of my only lucid dreaming episodes came from realizing I was in sleep paralysis and using that state to lucid dream briefly.

Exploding head scared the crap out of me. My sleep episodes were whacked, I was extremely stressed and borderline depressive during grad school. I lived alone and my social life had collapsed. So, hearing really loud yells or sounds or flashes of light in the middle of the night freaked me out.

Good thing it rarely happened.

Yup

I got it several times in graduate school.

My sleep schedule collapsed during this time period. On non-class days, I would regularly stay up all night and sleep all day. I was under immense stress as well during this period. On class days, I would go to bed *early* at 4:30 am, and go to class, and come back and sleep until the early AM hours.

It was the first time I got it. I sleep on my stomach, but I woke up at like 2am on my back. I remember seeing my whole room, and I couldn't move. I remember trying to yell, but it was like a disconnected, distant hum coming out of me. In the past five years, its happened maybe twice. In about a year span, 2009-10, it must have happened a dozen times.

I also experienced exploding head syndrome during this period many times.

The odd thing, I always woke up on my back when I got it. Which, is not normal for me to ever in that position when I sleep.

*****

I never *saw* anything during my episodes. Just couldn't move.

I was like 14 at the time. Summer 1998. Really great summer over all.

Me and two friends had spent most of the evening riding our bikes around, and we decided to go down to the creek to cool off in the evening. We were taking a gravel road through a patch woods down a hill. I decided to go really fast down a steep part that had a bend in it. As I came out of the bend, I found myself in a deep rut left a truck or a tractor. Since it was in the turn, I had a hard time keep my wheels in it.

I couldn't do so, and I lost control when my front wheel caught the side the of rut, and I fell hard. My body got pinned between the bike and the ground as I fell, and I bashed open my left knee and knee cap area really bad and scraped up my arm with road rash.

I was hobbled, and my friends had to help me back to my parents house. Somehow, I managed to not need stitches or break anything, but my leg swelled up and I had a gnarly looking wound. I still have a scar from it now.

I remember my mom picking pebbles out of my knee and dumping peroxide all over.

****

Worst crash was riding down a super steep hill. I was around 10, and the brakes locked (not hand brakes). I flipped up over the handle bars, and flung the bike over top of me since I managed to keep one hand on the handle bars. Busted my lip open, but somehow avoid major damage other than scratches. Extremely lucky.
