I remember watching part of a Bush/Dukakis debate with my father in 88.

Conquest mode was this really sweet asynchronous vs mode. A "map" was divided up into quadrants. Each quadrant had like 30 flags. You joined a faction that controlled the quadrants. You attacked the flags to take them over. Each time you invaded a flag, you fought an AI version of somebody's character in that faction. The AI bots reflected how good the person was at actually playing the game. So you would fight 10 fights on each invasion, and the more you won, the more you percentage you army got towards taking over that flag.

It was awesome. The armies had ranks like Great General Defender of the West or so on based on where you stacked up in relation to others in the game. You got also fight real people for larger percentages of each flag.

Once the map was taken over by one army, it would reset and you re-picked sides. It was awesome. I wish they would do a mode like it now with online play. It was very similar to how Chromehounds vs mode worked.

Aracde version had conquest mode which is the greatest fighting game feature ever.

Well Lent is a form of fasting which is different from a food taboo. At least, that's my understanding of it.

Growing up, my family wasn't Catholic, but we observed Lent. Only you gave something up you enjoyed (could be meat of course) for the duration of the season.
