Naw, this will just be a standard retaliatory strike, followed by lots of talking and nothing happening. Don't much care for all the talk of protecting Isreal, though. They should protect themselves. We already give them too much. Now, I don't support Iran at all, but I think the nearly slavish support of Isreal is no good either.

Are you starting with the classic Doctor Who, or with the 2005 reboot? I can't offer any advice on classic Who. For New Who, watch everything. Are there seasons that aren't great? Sure. Will you like some Doctors more than others? Absolutely! But no, it is all worth it. Each episode could be anything, with any level of quality. That's part of the charm.

Except...maybe skip Jodie's last season about the Flux. You'll know it when you see it. Don't skip her last special, though, as it was easily the best thing she did. Every special after that was fire.

If you can't get in to New Who, and you are sure of it, check out the most recent Christmas Special. The next season of Doctor Who coming in May is a sort of reboot and is, apparently, meant as a good jumping in point for new fans.

Your objection to the person himself is not important here. What is important is that these bills are getting harder to pass and are facing the prospect of some reform. The shortening of time before it needs to be authorized again is great. It's unconstitutional and needs reform badly, enough that there is significant bipartisan push back. Not enough to stop it, but it is something. We can only hope the Senate ends up requiring even more reform before passage.

Most of the people in Congress suck. It's important to focus on the issues at hand.

I believe Snowden's original actions were heroic. I don't know about the man himself, but since he is forced to live in an oppressive hostile country, I think it's a mistake to judge what he says too harshly. We can all imagine we'd do "the right thing", but most people would be leery of becoming suicidal and shooting themselves in the back of the head twice and then throwing themselves out of a window.

So, first of all, start planning on how you can move out and live on your own. You need an escape plan in case things deteriorate too much, or in case you eventually just can't take the status quo. If you think this isn't fair to your grandmother, think back to how she was before her stroke. Would that person want the person she is now to be abusing you? The answer is probably no, and if it is a yes, your grandmother was never a particularly good person, and we've circled back to "how to plan to escape".

You should try and speak with a mental health professional to work on the stress and maybe to help you plan. When relatives get older and struggle, or when there is a serious flare up of mental illness (that's what this honestly sounds like from my experience), you may reach a breaking point where you can't help any more. That's the point where other relatives or your grandma's partner have to step up. If they can't, then your grandmother may need in-home assistance or to be institutionalized (don't know how that works in the UK).

You cannot give people things you don't have. I firmly believe that people are too individualistic and too selfish in general, but there is definitely a point, and there are definitely circumstances, where it's time to tap out. It doesn't have to be now, but you should start planning for when it is time, especially if you notice a pattern of deterioration.

Like, whenever someone asks a question about relationships, there is an endless stream of "break up with them!", "huge red flag!", or my favorite "if X ever expressed Y or Z, I'd laugh in their face and the relationship and it'd be over!". And then there is the inverse "why is it so hard to date" posts. You have to wade through like 500 posts to find one with no upvotes where someone sounds like a human being. According to Reddit, it seems like a poster's opinion is fact, only they get to have emotions, and only they decide what happens around themselves. Everyone else just needs to deal with it! Also, why can't I ever express my feelings?!!!

I feel certain most of these people must be a mix of assholes and dissatisfied people who wish they had more control over their lives and other people, who in turn feel reassured when they see other posting the same types of things.

Just don't watch these videos of horrible things happening in real time or the government is going to collect that data for cross-referencing and extra judicial review.
The video in question was perfectly legal, the police just had reason to believe that a suspect had viewed the video so they wanted information on everyone who watched it to try and find this person. They could do this for any video or content at any time. That shouldn't be possible.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

This is one of my only real complaints about the show. The antagonists didn't make much sense at all. The Kris seemed believable, but what was Barry doing on the team? He was a total liability and had no special skills. Also, he was supposed to be a "kid", but was written more like an adult with a learning disability and some behavioral issues. That dude that got strangled by the big vine was too honest and level-headed to be part of Kris' team.

Their actions were just plain odd. The larger group the thieves came from were moral enough to have a Barry in it, but not moral enough to pass on a distress signal. OK. But what exactly did Kris think she was going to do with three people? They lucked out and found a single survivor, but you'd never overpower a large group with just three people, especially when only one of them is willing to kill, and they didn't know how many were down there. Also, how the hell would you plan on moving all the cargo off the planet with just three people?

Let me guess, it will be of great benefit to the same people who will turn around and blast the passage of it
I mean...I vote Democrat consistently and hate conservative policies, and I absolutely don't love these giant must-pass spending bills with who-knows-what tacked onto them because the people we elect to the legislative branch of the federal government can't seem to do their actual jobs. We never really know what's in them until they've passed, which means you can't apply pressure as a voter by contacting your representatives. In the rare instances where you can call or email or write in time, they often throw up their hands and say they can't do anything because these bills need to pass for the government to function.

I mean, it's good the government hasn't shut down, and it's great if they do put some good stuff in their, but these bills as a whole suck balls and shouldn't need to exist. They're undemocratic and a sign of a failing government.

Complaint: Jihad censored.
Answer: Holy War means the same thing and is a less controversial term to use. It's fine.

Complaint: Jessica drinks the water.
Answer: I don't remember how this differed from the book, but keeping it vague and mystical and creepy worked fine from a narrative perspective. I've seen loads of people confused by this part of the book.

Complaint: Alia rewrite.
Answer: There is no way to make a superhuman, wise toddler work in a film and you know it.

Complaint: Baron rewrite.
Answer: His brutality, cunning, and ambition are shown off in both movies. That's all we have time for.

Complaint: Emperor rewrite.
Answer: I've read the book, and Emperor never made an impression on me. For his character to matter more, you'd have needed more backstory and politics and the movie was already about 3 hours long.

Complaint: No navigators (!).
Answer: Using the navigators as part of the movie's plot would have needed more political background, and an explanation about mentats and why there are no thinking machines in the world of Dune. That would have been gripping stuff, but it would have taken away from Paul's core story, and when would the movie have had time for it?

Complaint: Spice rewrite.
Answer: It has been a while, but I think that, within the confines of the characters, plot points, and factions they decided to use, spice was handled completely. Spice addiction would have been a nice addition to the movie, but really, all we needed to know about it for the purposes of the movie is that it was the most valuable thing everyone wants.
