If you haven't seen it before, KOSA is a censorship and age verification vehicle that is blatantly unconstitutional, packaged together with some ideas that might benefit kids so lawmakers can point and ask why you don't want to help kids when you tell them not to pass this. The bill is bipartisan, so it isn't just Republicans or Democrats here. The bill would give state officials the ability to enact political censorship if they are crafty about it (think stiffing LGBT+ content), though efforts have been made to hide that fact. All the officers I've known are good people, but any time when you are out and about, you could encounter...whatever that is. It's not enough to be law abiding and chill, at any time there can be some sort of altercation where you've done nothing wrong, and the harms perpetrated will never be addressed. Hell, you might even get jail time for "resisting". And you'll be told it didn't happen or if it did, you shouldn't have brought it on yourself.

Much of the stuff--even the fantastical stuff--looked great with natural language prompts. Even if legislation demands some kind of way to verify AI video, it will be easily circumvented, governments and maybe even police will have exceptions baked in (for safety, no doubt) and nobody will ever know for sure if what they are seeing is real.

Like, I see people saying they are having ChatGPT teach them new things. If you don't already know about the thing, you won't spot the errors and will assimilate false information. Summarizing long documents is also problematic for the same reason. If you haven't read the document, how many of the mistakes will you catch? Helping you rewrite a paragraph or two makes sense, or maybe help with form letters, but having it write papers for you is a terrible idea from a learning and personal growth standpoint.
