I just started playing it and the game seems kind of boring

Yes, I just actually got to Act 3 and forgot how much I enjoyed it. Playing on Lethal makes all the difference. But it does have its fair share of open world busy work. I would suggest focusing on the side stories instead of the regular side quests which become droll and typical. The side stories with major characters are well done and give great character arcs. Don't feel like you need to fill out your map, just go where you want and if you see a yellow bird, go follow it.

It's also damned gorgeous

Im playing it right now and having a hell of a time. Third playthrough.

It's pretty good, would've been better if it wasn't a giant open world game.

overall, I thought it was pretty mediocre.

• it had a generic revenge plot, with a lot of forced drama.
• none of the characters really left a lasting impression on me
• outside of the mythical(?) side-quests, the ones that rewarded you with abilities, armor, and/or weapons, the side stuff (besides the content where you helped your allies) was basically: follow a fox or bird, write a haiku, or chop some bamboo
• the stealth sucked because the enemy AI wasn't built around it
• the combat was fun, at first, but it definitely started feeling repetitive by mid game
• the wind mechanic was annoying because you still had to pause to set new destinations
• besides some towns, the world felt mostly empty, where your only interactions were cutting down some mongols, some dogs, or some bears

beautiful visuals, though.

Like all games like it I got tired of the core gameplay loop by the end, but for the most part it was very enjoyable.

Maybe you can buy it for me when it comes to pc and I'll let you know

Not really. It looks nice but the story isnt amazing, the gameplay did nothing new for me and it is the game that was the final drop for me in the open world checklist bucket. Last one I completed, dropped every single one of them after.

I loved it. In fact, I'd love to buy the exact same game reskinned as an Usagi Yojimbo game.

I loved it. I heard it was a disappointment going in but it sure was great to me.

One of the best games from the last generation.

It's literally a plot point in the game. TC just started it. Like why do that?

Some of the gameplay is fun but yeah the overworld feels like Ubisoft shit with Base Liberation and Haikus and Bamboo cutting.

The gameplay was pretty fun, but it was also the first game where I noticed that trend of "there's no minimap" and I hate that.

theres so many themes that have been barely touched that are in need of a game.

It was enjoyable, but if someone asked me if I'd want to play it again, I'd say no.

Absolutely loved it. Loved all of it. Really want another game like it.

Was easily my GOTY. And the fact they released a fully functional multiplayer mode for free later on, with a lot to do and unlock in it?

Amazing. I still love jumping into the co-op sometimes just to have some fun.

The combat and the "where the hell do I go" factor both made me quit fairly early on. I liked what the game was trying to do, though.

On paper, so many of the things it does are completely mediocre. Cookie Cutter plot, same old action/stealth mechanics we've seen before, big open world with collectible quests, blah blah blah.

But the execution of all of this was just...supreme. So fucking beautiful, so fucking smooth, so satisfying. The lack of UI was so welcome in a game this pretty. Just really nice quality of life features everywhere. An absolute joy to play.

It's what Assassin's Creed always wished it could be.

Confused about this. The game gives you a map marker and thinly veiled waypoint arrow to follow. How did you get lost, lol

it may feel like a standard open world action game but it does what it does well!

not to mention the game world itself is fucking gorgeous to look at!

Was going to say this, specifically the giant open world part. Shrink all the territories down maybe 1/4 their size and the game is a 11/10 masterpiece.

Loved it. 10/10 game. GOTY deserver, etc.

I think this is a pretty accurate description honestly. Nothing really stood out for the most part. I liked the combat, I didnt mind the fetch quests. Storywise WTF was Jins uncle thinking? Just roll over and get steamrolled by invaders?

With all that why did I love the game like I did.

It wasn't though, people had been asking for samurai asscreed since like fucking 2012, Ghost of Tsushima wasn't released til 2020

I installed the game and started the prologue. I looked up the history. It said Tsushima had a population of 375 before the first Yuan attack.

The Mongols had bows with greater range and accuracy and poison arrows. The scene of the beach with the Mongols waiting for the residents to attack just seemed silly.

I actually enjoy traveling to a degree in open world games. Provided it has good scenery/atmosphere.

I'm slightly irritates though if I run across something blocking my path and the way around seems hard to find.

Oddly just got done beating the game. I kinda wanna try playing with using dishonorable methods as little as possible but that seems to stray from the games theme. Does it change anything? Like even dialogue

I can't remember if it changes any dialogue, but it does change the weather. Most stealthy, ghost stuff results in more storms and bad weather. More honorable, head on stuff results in brighter, sunnier weather.

Both playthroughs I've had about half and half. I've always been middle of the road in games with moral choices. I will do pure evil if that's a choice but usually not in a first playthrough. Pure good usually has some downsides so I have to really like the game

Fair. I did straight up honor in my run. The only time I relied in stealth was when it was forced to keep someone alive. Otherwise, it was marching up to every gate for a duel, challenging the forts head on.

I like the duels but find the stealth gameplay a tad more fun than normal combat
