This game feels like it should be a board 8 darling if more people had played it

it's definitely got cult classic appeal. In a few years we'll be talking about it the way we talk about Virtue's Last Reward/DR/Trails probably. can't imagine it having any sequels though.

yes, I can easily imagine this, as they basically adopted this strategy all of last year.

I would imagine when Covid hit they went into a strategy of "let's not have full Nintendo directs this fiscal year and see what happens." By now they have maybe seen how fans don't like not having full directs and might plan one for April, I'm guessing.

they might shadow drop a video about SM3D World + Bowser's Fury, but I don't imagine it's big enough to be the centerpiece of its own direct. I'd be happy to be wrong of course

pretty good game for sure BUT I'm iffy on the storytelling. the plot itself is cool and is both original and respectful to its influences, but its delivery is more confusing than it needs to be, imo. the game is still awesome thanks to its great characters and excellent music.
