I would imagine when Covid hit they went into a strategy of "let's not have full Nintendo directs this fiscal year and see what happens." By now they have maybe seen how fans don't like not having full directs and might plan one for April, I'm guessing. they might shadow drop a video about SM3D World + Bowser's Fury, but I don't imagine it's big enough to be the centerpiece of its own direct.
