Speaking of Maximum Male Models, where does that even go? Don't get me wrong, I get guilty pleasure out of it for Oteese, but what's the endgame? Does Gable turn face? Do MMM and Otis turn face because Gable goes more heel? Is it a comedy throwaway angle that will be dropped with no resolution (probably this but shh)?

Maybe somebody here can answer this for me: What is Mercedes Mone's finisher even supposed to be? I saw her match with Kairi, and it looked like a convoluted mess. Comments in the video were like "It looks good when she hits it right," but also... I can't find any actual video of her hitting it "right?" I can't even tell what's supposed to be happening.

If Pikachu does lose to Cinderace it would have to be how XIII described it, Pikachu defeats Charizard, but faints due to exhaustion without Cinderace touching him. Any battle whether it was a single hit or a long drawn battle would cheapen the whole battle IMO.

I think it'd be fun to see like, a staredown, and then each charge forward readying a big attack, but at the last second Pikachu can't muster the power/electricity/whatever to do his, so he just takes Cinderace's attack straight to the face.

I think it makes sense if either:

A. It's a double KO between Charizard and Pikachu, or
B. Pikachu uses up ALL of its energy/strength to beat Charizard, and loses to Cinderace because of that.

I think those would generally be accepted. I think people only riot if full power Pikachu lost to Cinderace straight up.

someone like scarlet can correct me when i'm wrong but from what i remember, the lee/ditko peter was very insecure and not all that sarcastic (there's a reason he got bullied in high school). what you're describing is more like the later, mature peter. sure, tobey was bad at playing that peter but i thought his portrayal of an old-school peter was fine (even though he obviously looked too old to be in high school).

(sorry for necrobumping, i just now saw this topic)

While that's true, that Spiderman was also less sarcastic, in tune. My point wasn't that Peter needs to be sarcastic, just that it's the most glaring example of Peter and Spiderman seeming almost nothing alike. When Tobey's Peter becomes Spiderman, it suddenly feels like he's reading a part made for somebody else. Tobey's Spiderman doesn't feel like a more confident version of Tobey's Peter, basically. It feels like he's getting possessed.

Right, but Spiderman has never really been portrayed that way outside of Tobey. I can't really remember an instance where Spiderman and Peter Parker come off as two completely different people as much as Tobey's version.

I disagree with the seemingly popular sentiment that Tobey was a good Peter. Like, yes, the mask allows Peter to be much more confident and quippy than he ever is without it, but even without the mask, he should still show that kinda... Sarcastic ability, even if he doesn't act on it. Tobey comes off WAY too reserved to believe that, even with the mask, he can ever truly be Spiderman-esque.

I think people just see how nerdy/reserved Tobey comes off and assume it's a good fit.

i also agree with tony on the trump comparison. in retrospect, some of the cringe trump tweets and clips we were all constantly posting in this topic really weren't more cringe than that biden clip. let's not pretend those trump tweets were all "inject bleach" level terrible.

I feel like most of them were, though. Like, I could be very wrong, but it felt like an "inject bleach" happened almost once a week, and I feel like we can shit on Biden without having to revisionist history Trump upwards a bit for some reason.

Granted, I get it, since people want to struggle so hard to not properly shit on Biden when he deserves it, too. And it makes sense, since Biden is basically the very flimsy border between where we are now and more Trump, but...

Well then clearly, Terminator wins.

DK is terrible at protecting his bananas, which means Terminator will complete his mission and return to the future before DK even knows what happened. Therefore, DK will be an old man by the time he gets to actually fight Terminator, and he's no Cranky.

EDIT: Wait, can Terminator return to the future? I forget. If not then maybe DK does win because Terminator would have no further reason to fight. But then maybe because of that, Terminator would self destruct on DK and thus nobody wins.

in the cartoon logic/physics of a donkey kong fight, i think DK just OHKOs him- forcing a rewind- five times

Not sure I see the logic in this. PoP retains knowledge from his rewinds, DK does not. Why would DK do anything different than what he did the first time, which PoP would be expecting after one rewind? This argument basically relies on PoP doing the exact same thing 6 times in a row.

PoP is like Max, but with actual legit fighting skill and a rewind that is much more broken. So, no, PoP wins.

Though, honestly, PoP is more like, say, an Ezio who happens to have time hax, so it may not even get to needing the time hax.

It seems like the Moon is accelerated toward Clock Town by Majora. The Giants aren't just bearing its weight. It's trying to push past them. Think a colony with thrusters. So DK would have to destroy it or kill Majora and not simply knock it back into orbit or further. Even if DK just punches it down, that won't necessarily destroy the Moon, empowered as it is by evil magicks.

Is Majora actually present in this fight? If not, then the moon wouldn't have that acceleration.

Also fun fact in the original pitch for Donkey Kong Country Wario was going to be the main villain before they made King K. Rool and the plot was that Wario came from the future, turned Mario to stone with stolen technology and DK has to get the tech from Wario to turn Mario back.

Which clearly means that DK, as the protagonist, was going to beat Wario.

You heard it here first, official confirmation from Nintendo that DK wins.

Though let's ignore meatball subs.

An italian sausage is called a "sandwich" when it is about as close to the same thing as possible.

The hang up people tend to have for hot dogs, I assume, is because we just lazily call it a "hot dog" whether it's in a bun or not. A hamburger without a bun people seem willing to call a "patty," but call it a sandwich on a bun. People don't seem willing to take that logic step with a hot dog. Or, atleast, didn't. People seem to be coming around to the idea more and more every year.

Ultimately, the context matters. Under no circumstances would somebody understand what you mean if you're holding a salad and they ask for a bite of your sandwich, but I'd think a majority would get what you mean if you're holding a hot dog.

Especially since by recent polls, most Americans do, in fact, believe a hot dog is a sandwich.
