Neat and I will play these, but hopefully this leads to 3 HD which is what I really care about.

Real "Hire This Man" energy from those world maps, like when someone drops Mario in Unreal Engine with 8k 5 billion pixel grass textures.

At least I can cross my fingers and hope Sony flips the switch and let's me play these PS1/2 games I already own for PS3 on my PS5, because I own every Suikoden on my account!

Yes please! I only own Suikoden 2 but I never got around to playing it before my ps3 died.

If they can fix up the spotty translations, that would be nice.

Yeah, I think the new look looks pretty great, actually.

Hope they keep the Matilda Glitch.

I think the HD overworls is a little awkward but it's no doubt still an improvement.

I think the battle screen does actually look flat out worse, though. Those textures are bad.

I've been saying for years that Konami was sitting on a goldmine with their game library and they hadn't realized it. Someone on their executive board must have realized it, and that's why we're getting all of these collections.

For the battles, which is which? I can't tell, honestly.

I may get it, as much as I hate modern Konami. The OG Suikoden is great and a top 30 game for me... but it's Suikoden II that's an enduring masterpiece, and it's in my top 10 even though I didn't play it until 2019. (Yes, I know I voted OoT over Suikoden I, but I'd have voted II over OoT - as amazing as that sounds)

I gotta wonder if they're doing this to help hype up the new game, Eiyuden Chronicle. And by "they" I mean Konami insiders who are still friends with the guys doing Eiyuden pushing the dirtbag execs to approve it.

I think it's more they want to ride the Eiyuden hype from the people playing it unfamiliar with Suikoden being like "Woh, this game is like Suikoden? Maybe I should try Suikoden then."

Honestly it doesn't matter to me either way though, if it leads to more Suikoden I'll literally take any rationale.

I'd guess that's the case yeah. These remasters should help make Eiyuden more popular.

I do like the sprites but IDK man they aren't THAT much of an improvement to justify a repurchase (Though I do acknowledge hardcore Suikoden fans will just take anything at this point)

It'll be just like a Quiznos punch card.

Suikoden 3 definitely needs the remaster most of all the games. It has a lot of 'early PS2' in it (even though it was released 2 years in lol).

I don't think a remaster could save 4, though a turbo button would definitely help it at least.

I could give Suikoden V another chance with faster loading times and maybe faster river travel screens.

I remember people saying S5 is really good after the super slow opening. I was too impatient at the time, though. I gave it 5 hours and supposedly it takes a little longer than that.

I would sure love to give it another go.
