Do you think red would be at risk of being hammered before he could claim if he suddenly got up to 9? Because I think his ego is too big to claim with any number less until the last 5 minutes of the day.

Well I think it's less the fact that Kirby needs an external catalyst and more that Kirby doesn't show a strong affinity for shapeshifting and just happens to do it at times with the sheer number of abilities he can copy.

But I'm not the host.

Kirby changes form and color every time he copies and ability. In his fire ability he can morph into a fireball. And more importantly in his stone form, he can transform into different sizes and shapes of rocks.

Kirby morphing into a fireball is a consequence of him copying the ability of a fire enemy. The enemy is the 'shapeshifter' (nominate Burnin Leo-- no really don't do that) and has the ability, Kirby is copying it.

I would attribute him having hats and changing colors to shapeshifting cred but I don't think hats and color changes are enough to make you a shapeshifter.

Not sure I agree with that either since it's not a power-up as much as his inherent ability to copy the abilities of others that's letting him do that, so he's disqualified for a different reason entirely in my book.

But like, if Rogue steals the power of Mystique and gains the power to shapeshift temporarily it doesn't mean Rogue is a shapeshifter.

Feel like Kirby shouldn't count in this. He has a very small handful of forms I'd consider to be shapeshifting based, which feels more like a consequence of his ability copying more than him actually being a shapeshifter.

Imagine if you made this poll in 1996 and it was the still relatively fledgling PSX for Sony vs Nintendo coming off a massively successful SNES, which followed the highly successful NES, and a new powerhouse N64 debuting.

Those people who voted Sony in 1996, boy, they'd look so stupid in 10 years, right?

I feel like if you had some legitimate suspicion of red you'd read other arguments against him from people you don't suspect are scum to help you along with that, as there were a few. Also really don't like the escalation of suspicion on Pez for not much reason-- again, seems like you dialing it up to make an escape valve more plausible.

As previously alluded to it's mostly his tone doesn't feel right. I don't have much quantifiable to give you but I rarely do when I peg him. That said I like him a bit better today and the sk hunting argument has always been junk

So the big problem I've had here is that you're okay on Red for a long time.

216, topic 4
Tom:
-Chris and Red are very good off that list
-But I lean scum on Chris and town on Red

"he's doing stuff day 1!" when asked for elaboration

Specifically, until mid topic 4, you're pretty good with red. Late topic 4, we come to this point

438, topic 4
Pez:
Are you actually reading the game? I thought you had been around more this game. I've made my opinion of Tom very clear I thought. I literally asked the rest of the game to look at Sultan because I thought his read of Tom was cheap and easy after Chris, 5tar and I discussed our reads of Tom prior to Sultan's post. I don't think town Red does this

##Unvote: Sultan
##Vote: Red

@Tom_Bombadil I ask you this. If Red knows about roommate powers why is he still bringing up SK stuff after you said it's a null tell? Does this feel at all to you like Red being genuine scum hunting?

Tom seems swayed by this, and it reflects in his list given in the first page of topic 5. However

Topic 5: Post 9

Tom:
1. Pezloco: Lean scum but some of that might be lack of time to post.
4. Red13n: Was a fan until Pez's attack, now reserving judgment

Why would an attack from someone you lean scum on be that important to your formation of an opinion on a person? Further a red lynch gets support right about here, early topic 5, and Tom ignores it completely, despite being present. We then bridge to Tom answering top 5 scum...

Topic 6, post 137
Tom:
Pez Chris ulti uhhhh Ben Lea?

Now Pez has become top scum for not much tangible reason. Strange Tom would still consider his argument against red to hold sway, particularly when at that point many others have chipped some stuff in on red. I'm not really sure about any of this. It feels a lot like Tom is realizing scummate red looks scummy, and arbitrarily latching onto an argument from a guy to distance himself from him, yet fabricating a suspicion of the guy making that argument to give himself an out if he needs to.

If (when) red flips scum I'm thinking Tom is a slam dunk follow-up, myself.

I mean you can think it's a bad vote. Dowolf thought it was a bad vote. But don't use voting him to say I wasn't arguing against the lynch cause I was the only one here who was! But sometimes you just gotta make a sacrifice to not have 4 4 vote wagons. It's unfortunate but I think it was the right play.

It may have also been unnecessary but I really just wanted that claim ASAP to get a productive day going because I figured town needed to be off him with some time to think rather than stagnating with a bunch of middling wagons.

It also was just a repeat of what Chris already said. Basically it was a loaded "town clear" (which was pointless because very few people are suspecting him to begin with)

That explains the meat of the magic in the trick as concisely as possible and how it's catching scum.

I think it's a pretty good argument honestly. It's what red trying to be the arbiter of "now I shall show you how Chris is town or scum!!!" had me immediately thinking like if he was going to say he's town. It's just like... oh, you're trying to get points for doing nothing since no one with credibility thinks he's scum anyway. Thanks for that, Red.

If he had actually shocked us with something chris didn't already say that would've been something.

Chris's magic trick was amazing but nothing I would've needed to think it was scummy to begin with. If you think of it in terms of red's motivations there's more there than just magic. I mean if you boil it down, red basically says "if Chris was telling the truth he's town." No shit. Great deductions, bro.

I haven't really followed Tom's logic too well this game, he has lightly defended red for contributing content I never really saw (kinda like what Lea was accusing me of doing with Luis but like, it actually happened), and he seemed to be sucking up to me so I vaguely suspect him as possible scum.
