Rolling these guys now. Helps that their patterns are fairly similar. Unlike Fire, Ice Magic might be doable. Low priority though I'll probably just keep going down the wheel. I think one of my wind teams are probably good enough to continue progressing.

I thought Snow's damage was supposed to be bad. Sync + AASB2 he was crushing it harder than Squall with Sync + AASB1. I guess he has more magia but still surprising. Probably because Snow's Sync has crit fix and I didn't really have critical chance on my team.

Team composition matters a lot! I was doing a Gordon/Hilda gimmick before and Vanille + Barret made the fight a lot easier. Barret just hands out insta casts like they're candy (I have his second Awakening and his Sync and his 15 hit ultra) which helped damage quite a bit. Also Vanille just being my stacked healer who I should really use for everything when I can (basically have all her stuff + rank 15 awakening)

Movie was fine. Nothing great. Agree the action was subpar and half reusing the cast was not ideal for me. But the first arc where Neo didn't know what the heck was going on was reasonably interesting and better than anything in Revolutions.

I would say fans should watch it. I wouldn't recommend randos that don't care about the franchise watch it but yeah. I almost like it better as a final movie than Revolutions so I don't hate it exists.

Despite the rating I don't mean to imply it's perfect. Yes it has flaws-- the pacing is total junk at times, but man it's just incredible world building and the highs more than make up for boring segments of the story focusing on cooking and exposition dumps.

It's one of the few VG stories I feel like I am really happy to have experienced. While it's not my favorite, all such stories deserve a 10 in my book.

A patch cable is just a short ethernet cable.

I mean on pure specs that's worth the buy and should be able to play "most previous gen games"

I personally would never trust an Acer gaming laptop though. A modestly specced Acer for office applications will practically fall apart with normal use after a few years. I can't imagine a gaming laptop with the higher heat output lasting long, especially if it's used.

(Though I haven't actually had an Acer or seen anyone else's Acer in many years so maybe they're less junky now)

I assume the PS5 is by the other two devices and currently has a cable providing internet connectivity to it.

Cable from PS5 you remove, stick into the switch you buy.
Three more patch cables off of the switch, one to the PS5, one to PC, one to X-Box.

So you'd need 3 small ethernet cables in addition. If you don't have those on hand you'd need to buy them.

Monoprice is a good brand. Buy 0-3 of these of the correct length and you're good.

Before you overthink it oftentimes for a secondary router you just want to use as a switch, it's just as easy as pressing the "reset" button if you don't need the wireless function on it and plugging into the ports that don't say "internet" on em.

Depends on the model of the router.

Either way pressing that reset button will probably be the first step so it doesn't hurt.

That's a pretty nice price on a cheap unit. I may get a few of them for my own use.

I mean if anything DMC (the real series with white haired Dante) is the parody of the action genre with all of the completely over the top action, really.

And I say that with all the love in my heart. You can sense it's actively trying to be silly in places, and that's part of the charm.

DmC you can mistakenly think it's trying to be bad writing, but what is bad writing with dialogue that feels like a 14 year old who just watched his first batch of R rated movies wrote it, what is that a parody of? Is it a parody of fiction as a whole? I don't get it.

So first of all it's clearly not a parody lol. That's the biggest piece of revisionist history ever. Last Action Hero that was literally the premise of the movie so people who don't get that that's the point are missing something.

That being said, on the Last Action Hero line of thinking, even if it was intentional that doesn't mean you have to like it either. Something can be artist vision and can be annoying at the same time. Correctly executing crap just means someone had a bad idea and is often worse than poorly executing a good idea.

2/10. I give it a smidge of credit for being ironically amusing in some places and being memorable at least, but man is it cringey at times.

People gush a lot less about Final Fantasy 7's plot if they didn't use FMV cutscenes for the dramatic moments. Definitely not mutually exclusive elements.

I've paid hundreds to E-Trade this year on contracts.

Of course I prefer not paying but after Robinhood screwed me out of so many profits on AMC I just consider it insurance (also having full control through the entire trading day is really nice for situations like this-- RH I'd be selling my contracts now for a mere +100% when I feel like +1000% is possible)

Yeah. I don't really think too hard about contract costs-- just means you fork over $0.01 of profit on the contract basically. E-Trade charges $0.50 per.

Sitting on 18 3c for this week and 47 3.5c for next week. If we moon this next week I'll be a happy camper to say the least. Still think $4ish by end of day is plausible-- just wait till Robinhood locks out contracts in 15 minutes.
