Like it probably would be but not because it'd be an auto dealbreaker as much as the type of person that would be a homophobe is probably going to be incompatible with me anyway. Like I'm just not going to get along with the personality of someone who is judging people for stuff like that-- particularly when you consider your stereotypical person who you'd identify as a homophobe is pretty open about the hate. But like, in a hypothetical situation assuming we're otherwise very compatible and then I'm told in confidence at some point "hey I've kept this a secret all this time but I just can't handle gay people" uhhh, whatever, as long as they're not being openly hateful that's all you can really ask. Like at that point you're sort of at this weird place where I wouldn't consider the homophobia something inherently wrong from a personality perspective, just a hateful outlook that's been burned into them somehow that they're trying to work around for society's sake. Judging them entirely for that isn't too far off from judging people for their sexuality. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

Gauging crowd reaction and feeding into it, stuff like that, which generally makes their matches fun. I'm not sure when they started getting good at that but yeah it does make them a lot better as a total package. But like I don't think I could ever really get into a Bucks match. Not beyond any sort of level beyond "this is a fun midcard match." Maybe I'm wrong and I just haven't seen the match in question-- it's not like I actively seek out Young Bucks matches or anything. I would probably like them a lot more if I'd first seen them in like 2014 vs like 2006 though. Getting over that negative first impression I had of em was really tough. --- No problem! Trying to untangle which of the story modes and supplemental material are canon when half of them contradict each other is a real chore. I think it's probably not Blazblue just because there's less material to sift through than with the longer running franchises even if it's more efficiently contrived but yeah. --- No problem! I think it's more just the plot and style of the games combined with that type of character? Like courtroom drama can only make it feel like things are so stacked against you, or something. I think if more of the cases were as high stakes as 2-4 I'd probably like him more? | Lopen 02/09/18 2:22:31 PM #226 | I looked up a few youtubes of the two and yeah it seemed like 13-14 vs 9-10 on the two I do think Suikoden V has the higher encounter rate of the two if memory serves, though I'm not positive on that as it's been a while since I've played either one. Although in Suikoden V the in battle animations are a bit quicker too so ultimately I think FFIX is still a bit worse. I think it's just more noticeable in Suikoden V because it's more of an outlier compared to the super fast earlier games in the series (FFVII and FFVIII aren't as bad as FFIX but they definitely prime you for slower battle loading in the series compared to earlier Suikoden games) and because of less camera tricks and the music. --- No problem! I think people who think it's overhyped probably didn't get into that mode-- because yeah if you're into that you can't get many experiences similar in video games without tanking production values a lot or veering too far into other genres or more hardcore things. Without that it's a solid RPG. It's still good, but doesn't stand out a ton on the SNES library, which has literally dozens of good RPGs, I don't think --- No problem!
