Calling it dead is dumb, but AAA gaming feels like its getting worse and worse, none of the big developers seem to take any real risk with their games(Although their can be exceptions) and it often leads to them feeling stale and rehashed very quickly. More and more I look to smaller dev studios making something that's interesting and unique.

I think a bigger problem is a lot of companies are using their customers as free beta testers, looking at you in particular Bethesda. I can tolerate some bugs in my games, provided they're patched in a timely manner, but the level of buggyness in some of these games with the "we'll just patch it a month after release excuse" is just disgusting. The worst is when the game doesn't do very well so they just give up supporting it entirely and game breaking bugs in the game I fucking paid for are never fixed. SPEND MORE MONEY ON QA YOU ASSHOLES. I miss the days of offline gaming where games were difficult or impossible to patch and as a result they had to make damn sure their code was solid as fuck before shipping it.

I'm also getting sick of these Microtransactions/Season passes/loot boxes/Free to play or whatever the newest and most profitable craze is. I hooked my Original Wii up a couple weeks ago to play some GC games and the simplicity of it really gets to me, I put the game in, hit play and I'm in the game, no menu options for any of the above mention bullshit. Some might say because I have nostalgia goggles but I call bullshit on that.

Couldn't you use some of them in single player or was that the odd weapon?

The weapons are usually added to Single player I think, but the vehicles no. Although they stopped updating the 360/PS3 versions so all the weapons added after they stopped probably aren't there.

For the 360/PS3 version maybe, but I feel like I've seen new vehicles added to single player.

It could be they added some of the more normal cars, but they definitely didn't add the cool stuff like the Rocket Bike that can fly or the Amphibious vehicles.

Oh, this is that chivalry re-skin isnt it? Not surpirsed it sold poorly, Chivalry was already kinda mediocre compared to other games with a similar setting.

I was laughing at E3 where Skull & Bones pretty much blew Sea of Thieves out of the water. I know people are probably gonna hate me for saying that and I want Rare to have a good game again but Sea of Thieves does not look good at all, has some potential maybe.

There was a game that kind a did that I think, D4 Dark Dreams or something where we knew it was a game that was in development but one day the developer just said "Hey it's out now". Didn't work out for him too well if I remember since it was episodic and never got finished. Well that and it was Xbox Kinect exclusive untill the PC release.

None of them even have a single line of dialogue. None of them even had a close up on their faces. I had to actually pause the show and walk up to the tv to see who they were

Same it really bothered me how they weren't there except when it was to kill someone because they needed to fill a kill quota or something.

Another thing I didn't like was the Benjen ex machina, what was the point of having Jon get injured and having a fake out death like that? I doubt there was anyone gullible enough to think that they really killed him off that way

Brink was probably one of my first big puchases I regret, that game looked like everything I had ever wanted in the trailers.


I almost bought DNF(pre-ordered it soon after the final release date was annouced) but a few months from release I had an almost prophetic vision it would not be good and pre-ordered Portal 2 instead.


I guess Fortnite too but its a game I regret the leadt as the core gameplay is great and theres still a chance they can fix the big issues.

I guess Lannisters because I could barely remember who the fuck Stannis was, it also didn't help that Stannis's group didn't really have likeable characters outside of maybe Davos(At that point I don't remember him very well) And despite Lannisters having shitbags like Joffrey and Cersei it still had more likeable characters than Stannis.

and yes i know it's early access but no competent game developer wants their customer to play the game as little as possible and then log off

there's no incentive to doing more than just the daily quests if you do more than that you end up repeating the same set of missions again and again

and the more you play the more you notice the free to play elements that come off as obnoxious

after your 24 daily Llama's run out You'll be struggling to get more than 1 Llama Pinata every couple of days and You'll be pressured to buy v-bucks to get more loot

how the hell is that tolerable?

keep saying early access all you want but when this game is being sold at retailers for what's basically a $59.99 beta pass on Xbox One/PS4

it starts seeming more and more like the developers just wanted to charge the players for bug testing something that many thought was already a full game

It's almost as if that's what early access is.

It's in early access and just had it's first public launch, give it a chance to change. I'm ridiculously cynical and pessimistic but I'm being optimistic about this game, besides they said they're working on fixes for things like this. I'm extremlky dissapointed by this game too but I'll give it a few months or maybe till release to completely judge it.

Destiny 2 beta is okay, the new/redone supers for the classes are cool and but that's about it. each class has a new ability unique to them but with the exception of the Titans they kinda suck and aren't worth bothering with sometimes, it also doesn't matter what subclass you use they both use the same one, unless there's more in the full game its pretty disappointing.

It feels more like Destiny 1.5 than a new game, and I fully expect them to still try to nickel and dime you for the DLC.
