Also I see they're still sticking with the self entitled snooty personality with Dany. I guess she's just literally never going to change or evolve as a character? I just can't stand watching a single scene with her anymore. Every single one of her scenes last night drove me crazy

The show feels rushed in certain stories and pointless in other places. With only 10 episodes left in the series I'm trying to figure out if the show runners are going to implement fast travel or if some of these battles are actually never going to take place. I am so confused with Danys character too, she was ok with leveling Mereen but now she doesn't want to send her army and do the same thing with the Citadel? Did they not get the memo that Cersei blew up half of the city already?

I started this season thinking Cersei was going to die in the first 3 episodes, to now thinking Dany is going to die because she is making stupid decisions. Like the lady said "You are a Dragon, be a Dragon". Hopefully she does just that.

I thought the ship battle was fine. I totally thought theon was finally going to die nobly though so that was disappointing but I'm sure he will later on.

The only thing I hated about the boat battle was the writers continuing need to torture and ruin Theon's life. They can't get enough of it. They even had to justify it after the episode, in the interviews, by saying "when we wrote it, we started thinking that you can't just 'get over' something like that, it'll always be with you".

And then they go and rush other characters development like nobodies business (I'm looking at you, Arya). I'm sick of this shit.

I know of some viewers who stopped watching the show 5 episodes after he got his dick cut off, because he never got the revenge he deserved. If only they knew that 3 years later, he's still getting shit on.

So what happened is bad for Theon, but what about Yara? Or anyone else? He's in the wrong place at the wrong time so often but that battle isn't just about poor Theon.

They're talking about his obvious PTSD with those remarks I would assume. And they're right, you don't just get over things. Any other response from him would have been unrealistic and probably have a worse outcome.

The real focus should be on what a sadistic fuck Euron is and how bad it will be if he's working alongside Cersei.

Yeah I understand that, but Yara still has her courage and confidence, and her dignity, things she never lost. Theon has been searching for that for the past 2 -3 seasons.

That look of betrayal on Yara's face when Theon jumps overboard is heartbreaking. She's already risked her life trying to save him, and has spent the past year+ trying to build him back up again. The absolute worst thing he could have done was jump off the boat.

I'd like to think he could still redeem himself, but I highly doubt it. I was hoping this back in season 5 when he could have saved Sansa, but again he failed and betrayed her. He only ran away with her because he had no other choice and didn't want to be caught next to Ramsey's dead girlfriend.

They call him a eunuch, but the book readers over on r/gameofthrones were insistent that in the book they explicitly state they remove everything.

I listened to the first 2 via audible. They're each 40+ hours and for whatever reason I had very low retention with them so I barely remember anything at all from them except what closely matches the show. If I decide to continue with the books I'll probably read them.

Actually I just lied. I checked and the first and second are only 34 and 37 hours respectively.

I've never been more disappointed at not seeing full frontal male nudity.

I just kept thinking "I don't want to look, but I have to know"

I guess I don't see what the issue is with him in that scene. He's just a shit character imo and that has been consistent in the series.

She called him eye candy. It was clearly about the looks of the actor not the actions of the character.

Theon has always been one of my favorite characters on the show. He explains it himself after he took Winterfell: He has no home, and no one loves him. The Starks were kind, but he was still their prisoner. His own family rejected him. And none of it was his fault. He paid the price for the sins of his father and uncles. And then he had the misfortune of running into Ramsay.

I don't think he's beyond redemption-he did, after all, finally escape with Sansa and was able to run from Ramsay. But on the ship there, he had no option. Euron is clearly the stronger fighter, he had Yara at axe-point, and their fleet was in shambles. Better to live to fight another day.

Did you miss my big topic about GoT before? The character Ramsay Bolton is a terrible sadistic horrible person. The actor Iwan Rheon is still good looking and I liked seeing him on screen.



It makes for confusing feels.

Similar with Cersei being awful but Lena Headey being hot stuff.

Theon was in a no win situation. He looks like a total bitch and even more of a cosmic plaything now and Yara looked absolutely crushed, but the PTSD is quite understandable and he'd likely die with any other option he took.

As for Ghost, I think last season they had budget only for Wun Wun or Ghost and picked Wun Wun. Then now it's been used on zombie army and Nymeria and whatever else they're cooking up

By the time Theon could have reached Yara, Euron would have had ample opportunity to kill her and then would have had access to kill or catch Theon. There was no winning option for Theon. Listen to Euron and have them both killed, or run and leave his sister feeling betrayed It would not even make sense for him to try another approach.

Damn that Dany vs Jon Snow scene was frustrating as fuck. She is so fucking stubborn it's insane. And she had nothing but an insane look in her eyes. I'm honestly thinking she's going down the route her father did, whether she wants to or not.

Also Euron is really pissing me off. The writers love their "Big Bads".

Things are moving fast enough, I guess, but I still don't think it's as satisfying as a 7 episode season SHOULD be. There's only 4 episodes left...

And I hope people don't call that Casterly Rock scene a "battle" because it was nothing lol. It was Iike 2 mins. long

During the interviews for the upcoming season, the cast and crew promised us atleast 3 big battles

I don't think he was ever a huge writer for the show. They used to let him write a single episode each season, but the eps were never that good. And he quit doing that around season 5 to "finish his book".

But it was always Dan and Dave doing 90% of the writing
