I got so little kids it was disturbing, used to be this neighborhood would be swarming with kids from all over, there's multiple elementary schooles within walking distance yet there was only ever a few kids at a time.

Do people think otherwise? I thought it was universally agreed it had one of the best game libraries of all time. If they don't agree they're wrong.

I don't even understand how the Xbox made it to the 360, I'm glad it did but all Xbox had was Halo 1&2, plus Fable 1 but aside from those games the library sucked ass and felt pointless next to a PS2.

And like 40%+ of the bag is the wrapping/tiny cartons the candy comes in, the Sweetarts come in little wrappers with only 3 pieces and other candy it's mixed with isn't much better.

Halloween is going to be dead for so many kids in the future, I've already noticed a sharp decrease in kids actually trick or treating the past 5 years or so, despite living in a metropolitan area with plenty of Elementary/Middle schools around.

It's usually pretty good but the portions they give you are incredibly small, I'm especially convinced if you get it to-go you're paying for a much smaller portion too.

I think what little hope I had for TES 6 evaporated with Starfield, Bethesda is over 10 years behind the curve on gaming.

I wanna say I almost liked him in the Telltale batman Game, but then I had to look it up to remember and he just gets forced into the villain role even if you save/help him at every single opputunity anyway, which is like twice every episode.

think the consensus is that the score ign gave was fine, but the reasons they gave it that score was because the reviewer didn't know how to play the game and that isn't fine.

like they had some livestream after the review went out, and the dude who reviewed it kept having people point out that his complaints were entirely his fault because he didn't read the tutorial pop-ups. like he complained that his skills were bugged and they weren't leveling up, but he never actually went and put the point into the skill to level it up, for instance. it was another cuphead reviewer situation, where the thing to do was on the screen the whole time but he just kept jumping at it over and over and over and over.

But if the game failed to teach the player how to do things is that not a fault of the game? Maybe it was user error gven journo track records it's easily possible, but there's a fair bit of stuff in StarField that's poorly explained.

As others have said they're good for Silverware or small everyday houshold items, never found any good electronics or game stuff at one though but maybe I'm just not through enough.

Jak 2 would have been fine if more missions had checkpoints imo, I know that sewer level and the escort mission after you get the gun are kinda infamous for making people rage.

Maybe it's just that I haven't played a Final Fantasy game since X on the PS2 years ago, but it just struck me as trying to do too much.

Throughout the game you switch between four characters in your party who have four completely different fighting styles, which you have to learn the nuances of if you want to be effective with them. Switching between them is pretty much mandatory, especially on hard mode, both because the AI your teammates use is dumb as a bag of hammers and because the enemy AI focuses on whoever the player-controlled character is. Each character has their normal attacks, their special ability (like Cloud's punisher stance or Barrett's overcharge), the skills you learn from each weapon (which have to be unlocked by playing a certain way with that weapon); you have to manage their ATB gauge, dodge, guard, or parry enemy attacks at the right moment, figure out when to time your abilities to avoid getting interrupted by the enemy (which, bizarrely, still burns the ATB charge but doesn't trigger the ability); you have to learn what enemies are weak to what attributes and manage your materia accordingly, figure out how to pressure/stagger them... like, it's just trying to do too much and involves too much micromanaging.

If the game had wanted to focus on a solid, flowing real-time combat experience in the vein of something like God of War, I could get behind that, but it doesn't because you spend too much time dicking around in menus during the fight. If it wanted to focus on a more tactical, cerebral, group-based combat, I think that would have been ideal because it's the closest to the original's turn-based combat (a mechanic that's no longer de rigueur, and more's the pity, but whatever), but it doesn't because your AI-controlled allies are morons and also won't use most of their abilities unless you're controlling them. Instead, it tries to blend all those elements together and just feels worse for it.

I realize you acknowledge it a little but none of it is any more complicated than the some of the classic FF systems including those in the OG FF7, I think this comes across as being heavily biased and looking for things to complain about because you're not used to them or you were looking to dislike them in the first place, like the fact you're complaining that HARD MODE, the mode you only unlock after beating the game atleast once, expects you to have learned the system and play well, like no shit? Half the things you listed are optional Materia which are by no means required, I think I only ever guarded attacks at the start of the game. Pressure/Stagger is pretty much the same thing as weakness exploiting, and you don't need to memorize enemy weaknesses because that's literally one of the first Materia you can get automatically does it once you scan them and you can permanently view it for free after. You don't have to "play a certain way" to unlock weapon skills, you just have to use the skill around 10 times across fights.

I agree the AI is kinda bad, it's only really noticeable on Aerith though who in my game loved to hug a Behemoths testicles and repeatedly died to it in an arena half the size of a football field.

The game has issues, but gameplay isn't one of them, for the most part.

The one near me wasn't 24 hours to begin with so no.

It doesn't particularly benefit from a graphical update, but it's also been 19 years since it came out with no rerelease. I'd prefer if they just did a GC virtual console deal instead of remaking so many GC games, but given that it hasn't been officially for sale for longer than I'd been alive when it first came out, I think a rerelease is well-warranted.

Yeah but then they couldn't justify selling it for $60+ dollars and keep it at that price forever.

Probably because the One Piece adaptation doesn't try to do a 1:1 recreation of the characters + plot and doesn't have the characters try to do all the crazy anime-style poses and behaviors, instead they act more like humans albeit in an exaggerated setting, if that makes sense. I consistently got really invested into the plot only to almost get whiplash(in a good way) when someone used their special powers or someone with bizarre outfit was appeared with no warning.

Because the owner didn't maintain creative control. Thus creating the same problem as the witcher. Netflix is actually pretty terrible at adaptations, they've actually failed every single one of them because they never like to follow the source material.

This probably also helps quite a bit. Netflix also loves to hire writers who hate the source material, like the Witcher.

I found the combat incredibly tedious and unfun, the game really could have used an upgrade system like Re4 or something.

I heard something about Remedy retconning their games to be in one universe. So, Max Payne, Alan Wake, Control and I think Quantum Break and their upcoming Vanguard all exist together. Not sure about other titles in their catalog. Control is pretty awesome imho.

Can they even do that with Max payne? Rockstar/take-Two has the rights to it.

Whoever first implemented motion blur for games needs to be fired into the sun, along with the people who created Film grain and dpeth of field.

Oh, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is 70% off. Real good game if you like Pathfinder/DnD or games like Divinity Original Sin 2. There's a seriously insane amount of tabletop freedom in character builds for a video game.

I really wish the Pathfinder games were balanced better, 99% of non-trash mob encounters rely on you pre-buffing with every spell availible at that point, god help you if you don't have Haste, Protection from Alignment and any other miscellaneous spell to use beforehand.

After payling both those games a couple times I'm convinced Owlcat game designers consist entirely of DMs who drove away all their players due to being that shitbag of a DM who actively is trying to get their players killed every encounter.

In UK for example I believe that students from poorly rated schools face lower grade requirements at universities because it's thought getting say a B at a shit school is a better achievement than getting an A at a top school. This seems like a better system than basing it entirely on race.

I dunno: Shrek isn't my favorite movie but I miss the days when movies could just be simple comedies without worrying about which side of the partisan divide they were on. You could say that's 'lowest common denominator'...but I think the 'common' has significant value. There were some clever jokes in with the fart jokes, and Eddie Murphy was at his best there. Are a couple 2000-era references that big of a problem?

This kind of, Shrek is great but I also started to get tired of hearing about it years ago when the "Shrek is life" memes and stuff started becoming popular, the movies are great and still hold up but I understand disliking it by association with obnoxious people.

It looks like they're taking a charming concept for a budget indie game and are making it into a by-the-numbers horror movie with none of the charm hoping to cash in on nostalgia.

They don't even know how to balance it for 3 people, the only difference in co-op is add spam. Still a good game though, and I like having 3 players, 4 feels overcrowded when it comes to games with a focus on dodging and avoiding attacks.

Man, remember how awesome the TP temples were? SS had some good ones, too (Cistern and the sandship). While having a yeti's mansion and a prison/execution ground be a "temple" doesn't mesh with the idea of it being a holy place of power, it sure made for some cool diversity and new sights and sounds.

TP isn't my favorite but it does have some of the best and most unique Dungeons for sure, I think it sucks you have to play through the obligatory Forest/Water/Fire temples, I think the insistence to do those evry single game led to the repetitiveness of the franchise.

I like it, I love the new overlay that let's you see stats for the game you're playing. It feels like things load/respond faster.

I think I have to take a break from this game, I find myself going into "checklist" mode frequently and it's starting to impact my veiw of the game significantly.
